  1. Thanks Pierre! I lazily thought the 2 were the same, 'cos they both refer to time. Gotta love the Forum education.. Oh, and um, have no new thoughts to offer re: Magnolia. :-$ Except could it be a witty reference to Rose?
  2. ......and Hot Chocolate Le Chandelier?
  3. If Sloane Square were a band, would it be an Alice band?
  4. I'll be giving the new Magnolia a go - in spite of its silly name. P.S. National Maritime Museum refers to the Prime Meridian and Meridian Line.

I used to know someone who looked JUST like Deputy Dawg. Every time I met her I had trouble having ordinary conversation, as I kept having to stop myself from asking her whether she knew about her cartoon twin.
  6. Nice post from EDOldie, it's good to hear someone giving the new place a shot.
  7. Well, chacun ? son go?t an' that, which as we all know is French for 'you have the right to be wrong about Lonesome Dove, I suppose'.
  8. Sean and Keef, did either of you ever see Lonesome Dove? Really, really good cowboy drama shown over a few episodes. I'm not particularly into wild westy type stuff as such, but this was so well put together and well acted (Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Duvall, Chris Cooper, Anjelica Huston..). I really recommend it if you haven't, they show it every so often on TV.

    fantastic
  10. Anna, I was thinking of a similar personal experience - though I've no idea whether the blokes in Turkey are anything like those in Egypt. Wearing modest loose clothing (wrist-neck-ankle) and not starting conversations with anyone made no difference whatsoever.
  11. I quite like Keane. :-$ But what the fuck do I know.
  12. Yes snorky, because noisy music is exclusive to areas with expensive house prices. JFC.
  13. Goose Green = the Wurzels? (or aren't they shit enough to represent dog turd alley?) I like it!
  14. Oh I dunno, nothing wrong with a bit of self-mockery. ED isn't all that sacred - unless it's because I live in Peckham?! ::o Agree it's a bit silly to make sweeping generalisations about race or class, especially if the intent is to come up with a not-very-serious assessment of the area. But if we can side-step those minefields (yeah, right) then can't we have a bit of fun with this one?
  15. It's the traditional fete worse than death, Sue. :))
  16. Funny thread! Coldplay an excellent call, and didn't someone mention Jools Holland recently? For me the racism didn't add anything though, was it included for edginess?

You've all seen these in Viz and elsewhere? I'll start with a mild one:- The Mitsubishi L200 A stormtrooper from Star Wars edited multiple times because it's harder than I thought!
  18. And the Forum was left asking why. .................. When the Mockneys got hitched in the Isle
  19. What makes you think you aren't 'us', ?????
  20. Decline in road deaths doesn't mean a decline in accidents - I think the decline is due to better safety features in cars, isn't it? And you make a good point about unregistered cars - it does rankle that people get away with driving unregistered and unsafe cars. However, law-abiding motorists who break the law aren't at that time, um, abiding.
  21. *haughtily* We were referring to ourselves.
  22. That's a bit harsh, 180176 - plenty of posters are at work right now, not just the estate agents..
  23. Credit to Mockney Piers - good, innit. Watch out trolls, we is armed!
  24. been looking forward to an opportunity to wave my troll police badge
  25. Bob, that photo unrelated to the road works on LL, which in my opinion have been going on for too long possibly as a result of what chap who runs the card shop describes as the gentlemen labourers' desultory approach to their work (I'm summarising), is awful.
