    Must be the champagne, HAL.
  2. The main thing is the tinsel halo, surely?
  3. I am feeling a bit random, yes. I just liked the idea of it being a badger.
  4. Was it a badger?

Unless you have to tie them back, then I think not.
  6. Are the buffers made of blancmange? I'm liking having my own thread though, this is most flattering.

Enough of this Soldiernitsin. What I'm really concerned about is this. I've been having a good laugh over the last few months about this kind of thing appearing in fashion magazines, and on the shoulders of unwise famous people: But the other day on the 48 I saw a perfectly normal girl wearing one, in a rather attractive shade of royal purple. Admittedly, she had a slightly defiant, sheepish look on her face, an expression that said Look, I've paid ?140 for it, I'm going to wear it. But it felt like a watershed moment. Will we all be taking one another's eyes out with these shoulder mountains in a few months, and giving flat shoulders the cut direct? Or is this just another storm in a teacup, like the so-called trend for tights with spots on?
  8. I fucking love Sollginstiltkskin, he's my favourite one off of Boyzone.
  9. PGC, I'm most of the way through a half-bottle of champagne and can confirm that we have arrived at Intellectual Chaos, decided not to get off the train, and are steaming for Total Chaos.
  10. Google. I'd have spelled Solldjanitsin.
  11. Giggirl, hold my hand. I'm scared.
  12. Awwwww... I can't wait!
  13. Mr. Miyagi would have you cleaned up before you could say 'grasshopper'. I can't believe I'm contributing to this stupid thread. Still, it's not as though I'd contribute to one about Solzenitzen.
  14. Good thinking, PGC. I did see your note before (and I think there have been others) but thought an additional prod might help!
  15. Hi Barry This is the time of year that lots of us get appraisals and ha ha maybe pay rises. Does this apply to you? I know I'm only one of many forumites extremely grateful for the intelligent, creative and responsive way you have used the forum to help customers. Is there a way in which we could communicate this to your managers? Good work is a reward in itself, but rewards are nice too... Best Moos
  16. Must hold still... must not laugh out loud...
  17. Don't bring my 'arris into this, Hal. You're in enough trouble.
  18. We take our son to the dentist on North Cross Road, they are lovely to him.
  19. I'm getting a confusion of vibes from your post, Ted - a bit Frank Sinatra, a bit Robert Frost.
  20. That is good news TJMP, thank you. Can you please provide us with more information about when a new school would be scheduled to open, and whether the funding granted would be made available in the meanwhile to fund additional school places in the intervening years?
  21. Re: pi yes, 'xackly. Re: cryptics nor am I but I believe it's a skill that can be learnt. Perhaps Mr. Mockney can instruct us.
  22. Pi was good for goody-goody, but rather old-fashioned. My shame that I didn't get epic!
  23. My God, am I really the only full-time working mother in the family room?! Feel far too intimidated to respond to this thread. Good luck making your decision, snowboarder.

I am genuinely bemused by the idea that telling people what you would like to have as a present should they like to get you one is offensive. I am worried now that we may have offended our friends, but I can only hope not! We did make quite a strong point of emphasising that a gift was not by any means expected, especially since we were married abroad and since people had to fly over their presence at our wedding was the gift we wanted most. Still, it was quite a party (which we paid for ourselves) so hopefully all of our guests managed to stifle their offence sufficiently to have a nice time.
  25. Only if you insist on getting a gift!
