  1. Here's another amazing story, with a happy ending. Born on a train...
  2. Nah, I knew already. LadyM and I cross-posted.
  3. brum is a fireman, ladies - a fireman. 'Nuff said. *catches DM as she swoons*
  4. Good point, but there are exceptions to that rule, Jeremy. Two exceptions, in fact
  5. I know how you feel njc97, I'm quite miffed that no matter how often I circle Goose Green loitering on the pavement, no-one has ever offered me a fiver. Hey ho.
  6. Mine's really dull. Plan what you're going to eat at every meal for a week. Then go and buy the ingredients, in as many shopping trips as you think appropriate. Don't buy any other food. This saves an absolute fortune.
  7. LegalEagleish, that's a stringent list you have there. I'd accept an either / or on 'can hold down a job' and 'can cook'. Also, it's worth noting that tog_in_sox can walk above the ground which is pretty impressive in itself.
  8. Rosie, this friend sounds as though she must have some serious charm to get away with behaving this way. The whole idea of a friend having to make it up financially to another friend for being ill seems extreme to me. Not only does she make arsey comments in public (which she knows you will read) but then harasses you for the money only a day after the event. Even if the story were true, what kind of a friend does that make her? And since you both know it's not true, I think you have to call her on it. MP's idea sounds a good one, if you don't want to sever relations. But no-one should be so unkind to their friends and get away with it, unless there's a history here where she really puts herself out for you, and you owe each other. Best of luck sorting it out! xx

    X Factor

I leave that sort of button-pressing, light-flashing thing to Mr. Moos - but shhh, he's on the Forum these days so I can't say too much. *waves*

    X Factor

Good point, LadyG - I'd love SkyPlus but baulk at the price.
  11. Lucky he's not a real person whose friends and relatives might read this thread, eh.
  12. Many thanks for posting to let us know what's going on, Vikki. If possible, I would like to see some funding spent on the children's playground in the Park. The equipment is old and shabby, and the facilities are very limited for the large numbers of families who use the area.

    X Factor

Aargh, Chico! Don't remind me. I didn't even watch that series, and he annoyed me. I think I would actually quite enjoy the programme if we could only record it and fast-forward through all the spinning-out bits.
  14. Oh dear, are we? I thought it was just gentle teasing.

    X Factor

What Rosie said. Another drippy (if talented) singer vs the act everyone's talking about? Easy choice for the man with his eye on the bottom line, and on clearing the way for his acts.
  16. Sounds great, and I think I can do the 12th.

    X Factor

It was just so funny and entertaining to see an act who are really rather pants showing the po-faced "it's all about the talent" money-making, single-selling, somewhat soulless show up for what it really is. Actually, nuts to all that - it was just really funny. I liked the ghoul who fell over.

    X Factor

Hee hee hee! I haven't watched the XFactor this season before, and was delighted this evening to catch up on what you're all talking about. Jedward were hilarious, hilarious.
  19. I didn't see the programme, but saw some of the spin-off articles. The message seems to be never, never fall asleep with your baby on a sofa, and never co-sleep when anyone in the bed has been drinking. snowboarder, hope this is the start of something good for you! I'm sure he'll be rolling soon anyway. The minute my son was able to roll he started sleeping on his front, and he still seems to prefer it, though we often find him in the oddest of positions, jammed into a corner of his cot or halfway up a side lying on his teddy, and still beatifically asleep.

  21. I'm feeling increasingly uncomfortable about this whole thread, and about opining on people who are unable to answer. I thought before posting but perhaps not long enough, and am going to remove my post from earlier.

  23. I'm grumpy and miserable so won't be inflicting myself on you either.
  24. skidmarks, that's a nice photo, and you are a good-looking man. Good work by the brave of ED! But if I were to caption the photo I'd be putting a thought bubble above the one on the left reading "Honest, I don't know this guy, he just came up to me"
