  1. I too had unfathomable tracks in the grass outside. there were some fox tracks, a hopping bird and the odd ones. no other tracks anywhere near them. I can only think a unicyclist doing the same pattern twice perfectly to the side of their first track. any ideas anyone. 'artist's' impression attached

funnily enough I first thought Goss & Stubby, but seeing as they were a massive nod to Croup & Valdemar (Actually the whole book was an ode to Neverwhere) I thought I'd stick with the originals ;)
  4. Yep, a common or garden Fino is good for any occassion, probably right now a little more satisfying in Moos' tropics (not a euphemism people, calm down) than here. Now where's that bottle of Stones Ginger Wine gone.....
  5. actually, I donwlaoded videos before music, series 1 & 2 of Peppa Pig.

caught this last night. Haven't the foggiest idea what's going on, but I'm intrigued. Intentionally surreal I guess, the maleficent pair were fantastic; They reminded me of Mr Croup & Mr Valdemar from Neverwhere, i reckon that might have been intentional.

ok, a little digging and you watched a BBC thing called The State Within, which I didn't see. Will check on virgin OD for it if it's worth watching

Were thay? God I missed that, that might have dedged up memories of my youthful telly consumption. I think it was Sephen Dillane rather than Jason Isaacs, though the former seems to be morphing into the latter in his old age; two favourites of mine however.

Missed it last night but will OD it tonight. Did you catch Secret State, loosely a remake of A Very British Coup? It was clearly a Blair hater's wet dream of an ideal PM, but I really rather enjoyed it.
  11. I'm feeling less smug about getting all golds on Sailboat Championship Pro now :(
  12. So the ideal film is about a reluctant wookie leader who meets a hard drinking ewok that trains him to do public speaking without sounding like he's gargling listerine? Can't wait, it'll be better than Caravan of Courage at any rate.
  13. I'm with Bob, there's a certain panache to some of his films but they rarely stand up to repeated viewing in their entirety. Reservoir Dogs was a refreshing new voice in a cinema industry that had abandoned that wonderful 70s creativity and spent a very dull decade in tiresome cliched cop/sci fi blockbusters. Actually seeing as we get nothing but Superhero and vampire films anymore another new voice would be welcome, but QT aint it. In fact is telly the new cinema, it's much better these days?
  14. Wales was relegated to a principality by Edward I, just to let the Tafs know their place and stop constatnly trying to rally around Kings (although I imagine the massive castles and murderous oppression were probaby more persuasive in that respect), hence Wales wasn't one of the three Kingdons and not worthy of an emblematic presence.
  15. plenty of english ale for sale, are you suggesting none of it's good?

I have literally no idea what you're talking about any more.
  17. I too gave up on Dexter for the reasons both Otta and quids cite. I recently gave Vampire Diaries a go whilst stayathomedadding. It was initially vaguely watchable, there was almost something cathartic about watching a pastiche of Dawson's Creek in the knowledge that the insufferable and spoilt characters will get their throat's ripped out, plus there was a nice dash of humour, but it soon became very dull indeed. I never made it past episode 8.

  20. I've just finished Ready Player One. One reviewer desxcribed it as a nerdgasm, which is about right. It's very silly, but as a child of the eighties a book obsessed with bad hair, John Hughes films, blue monday, erin grey, godzilla, the dungeons and dragons cartoons, deloreans, coin op arcades and the Atari 2600 was right up my street.

    David Bowie...

66 is a mid life crisis? I'm pretty sure I'm not going to make it to 132. Any and all of Bowie's achievements and kudos were wiped off the face of the earth by Dancing in the Street I'm afraid.
