  1. 1850s ok strcitly speaking 'bellenden' itself was never a village, but definitely bucolic!! http://www.davidrumsey.com/luna/servlet/detail/RUMSEY~8~1~1584~130073:The-Environs-Of-London--Published-B;jsessionid=E83170580D9F17C819B709970E0B22D1?showTip=false&showTipAdvancedSearch=false&title=Search+Results%3A+List_no+equal+to+%270149.071%27&thumbnailViewUrlKey=link.view.search.url&helpUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lunaimaging.com%2Fsupport%2F6_0%2FLUNA%2Fen%2FAbout_Luna_and_Insight.htm&fullTextSearchChecked=&advancedSearchUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lunaimaging.com%2Fsupport%2F6_0%2FLUNA%2Fen%2FAdvanced_Search.htm

but a fruit is a vegetable. supersets and subsets, not mutual exclusivity innit.

quids, bloody marys have tomato juice if im not mistaken, so that's seven, in fact if you get a good potato based vodka.....
  7. oh, and due to a bug in the forum software, read messages are sometimes reported as unread after threads are moved between areas.
  8. new tells you there are unread posts in a thread. if you read the thread it dissappears until new ones are posted. They should be blue in threads you read and ed in threads you don't (though this is i think governed by cookies on your local bropwser). If they're not showing at all, then perhaps you have a javascript issue? Try with another browser.
  9. "But people hunting to buy a flat or home will most likely use those sites. I could easily whizz round with an iPhone camea, write a description, dig out my floorplan from when I bought it (and photoshop out the agent logo) - and do the viewings and negotiation. It's not a high skill job by any means." ok we rented, but we did this (though we legally owned our floorplan) and it was a piece of piss!!
  10. that was done in a vaccuum i think
  11. weird, water simultaneously freezing and boiling
  12. No way, we got it bad in Ireland too. For the life I couldn't work out why everything seemd to be covered in mud!!
  13. *Bob* I did mention elsewhere that we'd rented out using a portal company (uPad). and when I suggesteed maybe people should use them for sales everyone bleated on about false economy, which was just a bit weird if you ask me, seems like the future to me.
  14. uncleglen i can precis your post, herewigo: "the bees are dying because london house prices are rising. ban houses!!!!!"
  15. to be absolutely clear, i don't think people who aren't pro-urope are xenophobic, and i apologise unreservedly if people think that was my subtext. I was saying that nigel farage is xenophobic and he appeals to people on a level that sounds attractive and plausible, but in reality doesn't add up.
  16. The Man of Kent is still going, which basically means they are a) more interested in GAA and beer than taytos and the new ross standard and b) in nunhead

    Kate Bush

If it's anything like the neutral milk hotel saga they'll just add a load of dates (see also garth brooks, actually I won't thank god)
  18. There's a massive tesco in our town Maxxi, so it's all happening again ;) Seriously, if your OH wants the new ross standard I'll happily post it once a week!!
  19. A classic case of careful what you wish for. Farage appeals to people at a gut level. It's all based on a lie of course, it's a dogma thing, Europe simply isn't what he says it is. I'll be sad when Scotland leaves the UK, we'll both be less than the sum, but 'we don't vote for tories', is so much more powerful than 'the status quo is ok', especially when the no vote is resorting to scare tactics. For europe the benfits seem even more invisible even though they're manifest in most people's lives a great deal. It's bascailly objectivity versus subjectivity, and I've a feeling the latter will in out if it ever comes to the ballot box. It'll be a massive mistake. Farage is a nationalist and a xenophone, he's also very right wing in terms of his 'libertarianism' and he'll screw the little man every time. I love the fact that he had a go at Clegg for being one of the political classes that never had a real job, a chap who went to dulwich college and spent a little time being a commodities trader, yeah down with the kids there mr!!!

  23. I dunno, they've queued up and served their time, those gates are fickle creatures, why be condemned to the back of a different queue becusae of the vagaries of technology, I reckon they're entitled to a pop at the adjecent one. if that doesn't work then go see staff.
  24. I did try wo warn Lousia it wouldn't work, though the Angel Delight and prawn cocktail restaurant went down a storm!!!!
  25. So true, we have a bog standard router in our house and we get perfect signal everywhere*. It barely used to get out the room in ENgland. *my crapper is 12 metres and 5 walls away!
