  1. Haha, and slowly the Emerson Crane/Atila the whoever wind-up bus gathers speed. It was a great result for WH last night. Congratulations and good luck for an extended run at the cup. It was nice to see Fergie on the touchline, animated, like the days of old, really getting involved. Anyway, us glory hunters can't be too disappointed with being outplayed and I'm sure that we'll use it as a lesson. That, or we're in terminal decline if you believe certain Gooners on here. :)
  2. Well, I just had a wonderful birthday weekend. I'd like to thank Blackburn for turning up, Newcastle and Stoke for their drawn games and Tottenham for no particular reason at all. ;)
  3. I see it's the same old Atila, *yawn* indeed.

Smug doesn't > cover it. Blah, blah blah. Water under the bridge. Cesc'll be doing the same to your lot soon enough. :) Two nailed on penalties last night, I can't see what Rangers would have ot complain about. You can't raise your foot like that, end of story.
  5. The problem is that Wenger is a manager, he wouldn't take an umbrella role in my opinion. So you either stick with him or get shot. It's not a good situation to find yourself in as I think he's one of the all time greats.
  6. You may be 'financially secure and self-sufficient' but there are holes in the squad that could be filled by buying some world class players and it seems that Wenger refuses to do so. Every one of those five trophyless seasons you've been a couple of players short of a world beating squad. I don't think most fans see Wenger as a failure, just as a stubborn man who refuses to admit the obvious. For that reason alone, and bare in mind the board have said he has money to spend with no problem at all, he should be questioned in his role.
  7. A good day all round. A WH win at Anfield Quids would be the cherry on the cake.
  8. Get in Spurs! Great start to the weekend.
  9. Just to annoy people, I'll do it.
  10. Best to avoid painted lines and drain covers. If you can't then try not to use your brakes on the drain covers or change direction, the shift in weight/momentum can mean an off. See also: leaves.
  11. Applespider, you want something like these: http://www.bobshop.de/en/By-Distributor/Pearl-Izumi/Pearl-Izumi-cycling-gloves-P-R-O-Lobster-black.html?campaign=FroogleUK/80078&secondary=on
  12. That third Spurs goal was sublime.
  13. Three points in the bag and there was no chance Spurs were going to win anyway. :))
  14. Looks to me from the video I saw that he's waving play on. Also, there was no flag from the linesman and it should have been a penalty anyway. It's frustrating I know, but most comments I've heard over the last 24 hours have reiterated the rule we are taught from the year dot. Play to the whistle.

  16. I thought I read they were prepared to offer him ?150k.
  17. And thrice oh dear?
  18. You can have him BR. I think we've had the best of him. Plus the idiots at MC will pay way over the odds. ;)
  19. Apparently United's future ambitions aren't enough for Rooney. (?) The sooner we see the back of him the better as far as I can see now. Get some new blood in or put our faith in the players that are there already. Which ever the choice it's time to close the Rooney chapter and move on before it becomes too damaging.
  20. I also wonder if Colleen is angling for a 'fresh start'. Rooney's probably thinking 'hmmm fresh tart'. ;-)
  21. As RD says, most of us would hope he stays but he isn't bigger than United. If someone offers good money for him then I think we should bite their hands off. Bridges are smouldering and if he's not careful they'll be burning behind him. We've seen great players come and go and they'll be someone else to take on his mantle soon enough. The Little Pea is looking pretty good!
  22. I'm a tri an duathlete - I've got the Serpentine Runner's Jekyll and Hyde Park Du at the end of the month. I would say, as long as you take it easy, get one entered ASAP. You won't regret it and it'll give you an idea of your level of fitness and show you that we are a friendly bunch who accept people with all abilities. There's a series of races up in Milton Keynes over the winter, run by Big Cow, on closed roads which are good to start with. Here!
  23. Last time my long runs ended up going out through Lewisham and Catford and down to Beckenham and back through Forest Hill. If you have some cash and want an invaluable training aid get yourself a Garmin Forerunner watch. They are on the pricey side but you can use it to map routes ad monitor your progress etc. Best bit of kit I've bought and you can use it on a bike as well! At one point I was injured and kept breaking down part way through long runs, sometimes far from home, so I decided the only thing to do was to run round Dulwich Park so I didnt have too far to go if I had a problem. I think I ended up doing an 18 mile run round the park. I guess it made me psychologically tough. :)
  24. I'm in through the ballot. Did it in 2009 and exploded at around 17 miles so I'm back for more and aiming for 3:45!
  25. I am not advocating dangerous play.
