  1. Hi folks, I have a (very) newborn and toddler and am just assembling my shiny new p&t navigator. Can't decide what would work best in the hanging-down baby carrier at the back. I didn't like the p&t cocoon as it's quite a tight fit so just wondering what other people use. I've seen people with sheepskin + pramsuit but not sure if that will be warm enough to go through winter. Help!
  2. That's it really...I went 41+6 before being induced with DS1 and had a fairly dramatic birth due to meconium and having a huge baby. I'm getting close to my due date now with DC2 and starting to worry about going overdue again. So I'm wondering if it's likely that I'll be able to request an induction any earlier than last time, say, 41 weeks? (I'm at Tommy's if anyone has any direct experience of this) I'll speak to my MW at next appointment but thought I might get some insight here too! Thanks!
  3. Ahh the one from posh box is the one I saw online doing a google image search...really like it but very pricey. Also interested in recommendations for carpenters people have used for similar jobs.
  4. Hi there, Looking for a toy storage box with padded seat. The size is quite specific so it would probably need to be custom made. Anyone had something like this made? Looking for recommended carpenters / retailers and an idea of cost. (No sales pitches please, I just want recommendations) Thanks
  5. I experienced this too and saw lizzie at the dulwich therapy rooms. I about to have my 2nd child and will be booking in with lizzie whether s/he has a TT or not! It's magic!
  6. Thinking of going tomorrow morning with the sainsburys 2 for 1 but a bit concerned about queuing being 30 weeks pregnant and having a toddler...people who have been recently, would you recommend advance priority tickets and is there anywhere I can buy these with a 2 for 1? Thanks
  7. Following with interest as I'm in the same situ but with an almost 2 Year old who is NOT ready to go buggy free..I went to John Lewis to try some this morning and concluded that, unlike a single buggy, there's no such thing as the perfect double! JL lady said that the icandy is the most popular with phil and teds being far behind because its too heavy, people don't like baby being low down and there's no car seat attachment....yet all I see in ED are p&t so they can't be that bad?! Icandy (peach) just looks too squashed. Can't even contemplate a side by side as it wouldn't work in my tiny house. Top of my leader board so far is the p&t "dot"....any thoughts on that?
  8. Yes second the talland bay recommendation. But my top tip is to buy some proper sea-shoes for your son (the wetsuit style ones with grip on the bottom) all the beach shops sell them. It will make it easier for your son to deal with small rocks / pebbles-best ?7 I spent all holiday!
  9. Just had a week staying at polean farm which is 10 mins from looe-lots of fun for a toddler. Thoroughly recommend east looe beach, it's a perfect toddler beach! Not sure what else to do as we were on the farm / Beaches most of the time. There's the fowey estuary which is a nice short boatride and very picturesque. Also if you want some day trips then the Eden project and rock / padstow aren't far.
  10. We're just back from staying at Polean farm which was absolutely fab-they have 6 cottages and all full of toddlers. Animal feeding / tractor / pony rides each morning and some fab beaches a 10 min drive away. (East looe beach was brilliant for little rock pool explorers!)
  11. I was told by a temp member of staff about a month ago that it was months away from completion as there was a problem with a few of the enclosures and they needed to be re-built! I dread to think how many sky scrapers have gone up since that was started!!
  12. Thanks folks, the weather was in our side so a combo of soft play, parks and woods were totally do-able! Got a nice list of suggestions to work my way through I the next few weeks tho! Cheers!
  13. Not sure if try still do it but we used to buy cases of wine from the virgin wines auctions-you can get a good case of wine for around ?50 (or less) and get it sent as a gift. (This is going back a few years),
  14. Great, thanks for suggestions. We will prob do a combo of swimming / softplay / PR park / horniman. Thank goodness it will cool down a bit tomorrow!!
  15. Hi folks, I need to be out of the house from 9-6 tomorrow. I'm pregnant and not loving the heat and will have a 22 mo toddler in tow...suggestions please on how we can fill our day avoiding as much sun and crowds as possible! (Have car, will travel!)have ruled out south bank, the big museums etc due to school holiday crowds. I'm at a loss as to where we can go all day but keep my son entertained...suggestions appreciated!!
  16. Hi folks, Recently I stumbled accross a document on the lewisham council website with the furthest distance offered for all primary schools in the borough...but I now can't find it anywhere and we're looking to buy a house in the catchment for one of them (or one in southwark) Could someone post a link to it? And one for southwark? Thanks
  17. Trafalgar tavern in Greenwich is lovely The mermaid centre in blackfriers has a lovely room overlooking the river. The RSA in temple has a great "party" space in the vaults below There's an old music hall (wiltons) in shoreditch where you supply everything, its a blank canvas but a stunning space. We went for a Thames boat for our drinks reception and it was really affordable -took own food/drink. Horniman is really expensive. Garden museum in Waterloo is lovely but can't remember the deal with food/drink. Also looked around beauberry house which would be great for the size of your party but I do remember costs mounting when we priced it, though that was for the whole wedding shebang!
  18. I spoke to one of their contractors last week and asked when they would be opening and he said "I doubt it'll be this year now! The builders messed up X and Y so it needs to be re-done". He wasn't an official horniman employee, more of a temp person to look after the sheep but that certainly fits in with the way things look at the moment. Very disappointing!
  19. I won't be ordering from them again...can't stop the husband though! Thanks for the recommendations, ill give some of those a try. Agree that the Babur restaurant is amazing, but the tale away is cooked in a completely different kitchen...
  20. Yep from the "Babur to go" in brockley-and I'm only I'm HOP so can't see why it's always cold! Need to find another place, any recommendations?!
  21. Ok so this stretches the border of ED a little but we all love Babur right? But I have never ever received a curry that didnt need a good 3 mins in the microwave. Is it just me? Possibly the most expensive curry in SE London, can't they keep it warm?? Rant over.
  22. I'd be really keen to know the furthest distance offered for fairlawn and horniman too, anyone know these? Thanks
  23. Hi there, I also missed the last one. I'm around in the day with my 21 month old so if there are any 2nd / 3rd timers who fancy a meet in the park during the day with little ones (perhaps a 10am peckham rye / dulwich park meet up one weekday) give me a shout. Will also try to make it along to the evening / weekend meet ups too. X
  24. Giraffe on south bank are super kiddy friendly and usually have offers for week day lunches.
  25. i'm also in this situation - i called into a charity shop in forest hill yeaterday and they said they couldnt take more books at the moment...does the oxfam shop in HH have any parking?
