  1. Thanks RD. This one shouldn't be too tricky: Your smile is like a breath of spring Your voice is soft, like summer rain
  2. Is that "Turning Japanese"? I can't remember who it is by though.........
  3. Correct! Over to you, and no MTH. I don't own one of their albums either!
  4. Artist and album right but wrong song. I don't know the rules though, are we allowed to let you off? Or do you have to guess again?!
  5. One of those ones where you either know it or you'd never get it in a million years! How about: "There was a bright light A shattering of shop windows The bomb in the baby carriage Was wired to the radio"
  6. After the day - Barclay James Harvest?
  7. Quite right RD
  8. Money talks. But it don't sing and dance, and it don't walk.
  9. The Smiths - cant quite remember the name but something like "A rush and a push"?
  10. I'll have to make it trickier next time!
  11. Thanks! "Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place where as a child I'd hide"
  12. Vampire Weekend - A Punk?
  13. BBW - not sure if your post is serious or not! But if I have PM'd you just in case it is with some advice I hope will help.........
  14. I had gestational diabetes and I found this website very useful: www.diabetes.org.uk. They have some very practical advice on diet in particular.
  15. Strawbs - I have had two chickens in my back garden in ED since November. They have a fox proof run which they stay in when I'm out and I let them run free around my garden whenever I'm at home (which is quite a lot). I always shut them in their house at night, and I haven't had any trouble with foxes. The chickens are really tame, they eat out of your hand and follow you around the garden, and the kids love them. None of my neighbours have complained, since they don't really make any noise (you don't need a cockerel to get eggs), and in fact all the neighbours children love looking after them whenever we go away - bonus! We gets lots of fresh eggs and I would highly recommend it. I'm sure you could get some battery hens, just get in touch with the Battery Hen Welfare Trust who have a website and will also be able to give you lots of tips. Feel free to PM me if you want any tips especially on how to keep the foxes at bay!
  16. I wasn't really passing comment on the necessity of closing the park, just passing on information. I'm sure it's right that if councils weren't scared of being sued they wouldn't be so cautious.
  17. Dulwich Park was also closed at 10am this morning - same health and safety reason given there too. I don't know if it has opened since but there were lots of disappointed people gathered around the gates looking cross!
  18. Thanks to everyone for their supportive and positive comments. We are really excited to have won the decanter award, and to be able to spend some time training Tyson, our South African scholarship winner. It is really nice to be able to put past troubles behind us, and we are very aware that our survival and success is in no small part down to the local support we have been lucky enough to enjoy. Thanks also for your constructive criticisms. I'm sorry that some of you have experienced difficulties with service and I will pass your comments on to our staff. We hope that those who have had a disappointing time might give us another try and see an improvement. Keep posting your thoughts, especially on how we can do better, and in the meantime thanks again to the Forum for your continued support.
  19. There's one in Crystal Palace park too (but that might be a bit far out of East Dulwich?)
  20. There is a little one in the field opposite the Horniman Museum, one on red post hill just up from North Dulwich station near the mini round about, and one at Goose Green.
  21. Jah Lush - thanks for the feedback, as I say it is worth hearing no matter how uncomfortable it may feel at the time. My hair is now back in position.
  22. Domitianus - I couldn't agree more. Feedback is invaluable whether or not we like what we hear! I can only apologise again, and as I say, I will raise it with the manager and ensure that it doesn't happen again. Thank you for your comments and for your continued support, and do keep up the feedback. We know that there is always room for improvement.
  23. Domitianus - I am sorry to hear that you have felt uncomfortable in Green & Blue, that is certainly not our intention. It is sometimes difficult to find time to run the shop and the bar and to have staff meetings when they are needed and so sometimes they do happen in the shop whilst it is open, much as we might prefer otherwise. I am very surprised at the impression that the manager has given you, he is in fact very popular with the staff, and if anything is thought of as being a bit too nice rather than anything else! I don't know what particular issues were being discussed at the time but I apologise if they made you uncomfortable. Perhaps you heard a comment or two without hearing the full context and so it sounded worse than was in fact the case? Whatever the reason, we will try to make sure this impression is not given to you or any other customers again. Jah Lush - you are of course more than entitled to your views but the manager to whom you refer is a hard working thoughtful and popular man who has inspired loyalty and dedication from his staff during some very difficult times. He most certainly does not deserve any of the names you have used to describe him.
  24. I am delighted to be able to tell you that the owners of Green & Blue are back in the building, and business will now continue as usual. School of Wine will go ahead tonight, as will the wine tasting event tomorrow evening. Again, thank you for the many supportive posts on the forum, it is very much appreciated. We hope to see you all soon for a celebratory glass of wine!
  25. Can I please add, as a member of the Green and Blue management team with full knowledge of the details of "the drains" issue, that at no point has Green & Blue threatened the forum with legal proceedings or asked for any discussions of any matters to be prevented or curtailed. We are fully in favour of free speech in all its forms, whether or not it casts us in a favourable light. Benjaminity - I am sorry that you don't like the business we run, but you are fully entitled to your views and to express them in any form you choose. Whilst I agree with Mark that constructive criticism is more useful for local traders, if you don't want to say why you don't like us, that's fine too. We don't expect to be universally loved. We did not, however, go to any lengths to have comments about the drains issue removed as you suggest.
