The only downside to being a tube driver is that someone might jump out in front of you and traumatise you- but they get loads of time off and counselling for that rare event. Public sector workers have had a 2 year wage freeze- now that's a good reason to go on strike-if they only could.

Now that the insurance premiums on young male and female drivers has been equilibrated does that mean we will have more boy racers on the roads?- unfortunately I think it does because their premiums were the only barrier to driving. The whole EU ruling makes acomplete mockery of actuarial science, and may be a catalyst to the wholesale adoption of 20mph limits in urban areas -thereby increasing pollution; and it will not stop the boy racer (or girl racer for that matter)

A friend who teaches in a faith school told me that she has been disturbed by recent comments made by older teenagers in the sixth form who believe that being religious is 'good' and not being religious is 'bad'. One student asked her if she believed in 'god' and she would not say and the student said that if she doesn't the student was going to leave her class and not come back(fear of being struck down?) Also she told me that the biology students get very indignant when taught Natural Selection and Evolution. So 'God' is alive and well and living in South London- at least!

Mrs T was the only politician who did anything remotely constructive towards freeing the less well off from their miserable lot since grammar schools were abolished. She introduced the right-to-buy so that responsible council tenants could by their properties and move i they wanted to. She also introduced the assisted places so that clever poorer children could go to public school. This incensed lefties- especially those with mortgages- because the ex-council tenants were being subsidised by the tax-payers, and public schools were getting tax-payers money. IMHO the woman is a saint. Do your worst- I won't be swayed from my opinion.
