Since we have a Labour controlled council and a Con/Lib dem government then front-line services will be cut back instead of cuts being made 'in the backroom' i.e. non-essential admin. This always happens- the general public will suffer because that has the political impact. A certain amount of money is allocated to our services but it does not have to be spent on the front line.

A work colleague asked me to pick him some of those small brown toadstools that are found in cow fields since I was going to the countryside. I wouldn't do it as I didn't want to be responsible for the aftermath. He got some himself and dried them and made tea out of them- he had a blinding headache for 3 days- and he said it wasn't worth it (I got the impression that they are hallucinogenic)

I saw Steely Dan in Birmingham a few years ago and it was about ?20. Also Metallica and Machine Head at the O2 was much cheaper about ?25 a couple of years ago- I know that the Pussy Cat Dolls charged about ?75 at the O2 but I expect that was to fund their umpteen changes of clothes- this is ridiculous- I am content that I saw the Stones for free in Hyde Park 40-odd years ago.

Door knocking from Kings College Hospital???

We had some teenage lads knocking for the Catholic Church in Nunhead about 9pm a month ago. I didn't open the door and phoned the church the next day and the secretary said they never send people out. There are scammers all over the place and the knockers could be 'casing the joint'. -

They could re-open that bit of road next to the Harris school leading on to Forest Hill Road then I wouldn't have to drive down Underhill. And- when they actually catch someone doing something bad they need to prosecute them properly. -

William Herschel- Tulse Hill (on a pub) Camille Pisarro - Crystal Palace - on a bank at the lights at Crystal Palace Parade. I think he painted from Sydenham High School at one time. Also there must be one for Gustav Holst locally because he taught at JAGS

I was at secondary school in 1964 so the summer term 1963 would have applied to me since I was in the final year of juniors.(It just 'felt' like it was on Thursdays- I could be wrong of course.) Yes and music and movement in the smelly dining/assembly/gym hall.
