  1. Hello Mabel-Bonzo Dog Do Da Band
  2. People are incapable of keeping to the speed limit. And even if a speeding driver is caught (forensics showed he was doing 35-45mph) and seriously injured a sober pedestrian he was let off.
  3. Again- totally inconsiderate behaviour by morons on a work night. What is it with these people who seem to be deliberately provocative in their actions towards neighbours in residential areas- hopefully they will have their sound system confiscated- if they do it again. Nice to see the police turned up though.

  10. The Day That Never Comes- Metallica
  11. ?People should not be offered council houses that are worth more than the average house in their local authority? Allvoters Con LibDem Lab Agree 73% 86% 75% 63% and ?People should not be offered council housing in expensive areas? All voters Con LibDem Lab Agree 60% 84% 58% 48% (taken from the beginnining of the report in the OP) my suggestion for the next poll "People should not be allowed to live in areas where they might aspire to own property and take steps to improve themselves"
  12. He should pay some visits to schools- the animosity referred to by DJKQ is rife- as is sexism and homophobia.

  16. If the education system was working properly and was producing youngsters with skills that employers need and there were not schools dotted around where only 2% of students get 5 A-C grades at GCSE, then we could afford to sit back and let the powers that be get on with it. But since education became a political football there has been general decline in the calibre of its output and that is of concern to everyone.

  18. This Love- Pantera
  19. It's a pity that these people who are doing such good things did not have the manners to let the local residents know beforehand.( I am not one but I would be inconvenienced in the extreme if my peace was suddenly disturbed on a Sunday afternoon)
  20. I think (given 3 serious examples that I know have occurred w.r.t. public works and did not get found out) that fazer71 is right for works on a day to day basis on public buildings and infrastructure.
  21. Well, that's it then, and all I managed to see- by accident on the news- was Roger Daltrey belting out a few bars of My Generation. Phew. Back to normality- I suppose all those roads that weren't dug up, all those stations that needed work will all be closed at the weekend -for the foreseeable.
  22. If you have to work on Mondays then your Sundays are sacred- not just for you but for anyone who would suffer if you could not do your job properly on Monday having been denied adequate r and r at the weekend. If you had had prior warning of a noisy event then you could have made plans to go somewhere else. This sounds like total inconsiderate behaviour by a group of people who think they can set up in a public place in a residential area. It is not on and should not have happened the way it did- one Sunday or 10 it makes no difference. What would happen if we all did it?

  24. All You Fascists -Woody Guthrie (or Billy Bragg)
  25. This thread reminded me of the riots in '81 when the police were alerted by the milkmen because the milkbottles went missing so the rioters could make petrol bombs. I wonder how widespread the problem is?
