The South Circular is a trunk road and hence maintained by Central Government. The monstrous waste of money outside Alleyn's is the responsibility of Southwark. Lunatics there spend their entire working lives dreaming up daft road improvements to use up their bloated budget at our cost. Any fool can judge that the renewal of about a mile of South Circular pavements runs into millions. 'Nuff said.

Despite claims of "austerity", this mad Government is still spending our money like a drunken sailor. How else could some lunatics authorise the expenditure of millions of pounds on resurfacing the entire pavement from Gallery Road to Lordship Lane on the South Circular? Apart from a small section by DC, I doubt that a couple of dozen pedestrians use this in a day. What hope is there of a return to solvency at any time in the next hundred years when our grand children will still be paying for this ongoing binge? The Greatest Fun in all the world, beats everything, seems to be spending other people's money!

We have bumble bees nesting in our roof. The bee keepers are not interested as apparently bumbles are lazy little devils and produce very little honey. Our advice was just to leave them as they only make small nests and are are not aggressive nor do they chew the rafters as wasps (ugh) do! They should disappear at the end of summer to that great hive in the sky.

There is one old van smothered in graffiti parked in posh Burbage Road by the railway bridge, It has been there for months. It most be driving the locals potty!

We used to enjoy seeing horses perambulating in the Park but sadly it seems no longer. Somebody mentioned that they were banned after an accident?/

No show at Morley's as road apparently dug up at police station. Shambles as P4 now shoots off past the Ritzy and first stop Shakespeare Rd., about a mile despite there being several bus stops en route.!! Very poorly advertised and lots of people left flummoxed. We queried with a postman why the old convenient system of listing all letter collection times during the day on the letterbox had been dropped to just one time usually 6pm, useless if you have something urgent for an early collection. He told us that the Brussels eurocrats had banned the this as unfair competition! Explain that! Can they never stop interfering?
