  6. So here is my view... My daughter has just finished year 11 and been there since year 7. A few issues to begin re bullying and I was not happy with how school dealt with it but once a particular girl left the school, changed the dynamic of my daughters friendship group and shes been happy there ever since! Happy daughter=Happy mum! My daughter often says how much she enjoys school! During covid normal timetable done online with teacher and would get a phonecall most weeks. Of course GSCE's were different this year but the school have tried their hardest to support pupils and parents during this time. Smaller intervention classes are provided for students that may need a bit of help or to ensure they get the grades they are working towards. My daughter is staying on at sixth form and would be happy to send my 2 other children to charter ed when that time comes for them. The head and some other staff are sadly leaving so not sure what affect that will have but I'm sure will remain a good school! Happy to answer any specific questions via PM.
  7. My daughter is looking for part time work to keep her busy with the intention of working weekends once starts sixth form September, there are a few on indeed website .

  10. Thank you both. Spin doctor not available until Wednesday so having to improvise for now.
  11. Happy weekend! Our washing machine is tripping fuse box, it is insured but engineers cannot come out until Wednesday and at the start of christmas holidays with 3 children this is not ideal! Can our washing machine be saved or do I need to add to my list to santa?! Any help/recommendations appreciated.
  12. Thank you Rob, I have seen virtual tour and attended a Q&A with the headteacher :)
  13. Bumping as still a bit stuck and even trickier as with current pandemic unable to view and get a proper feel of school communities, has anyone near goose green been offered Harris ED on offer day or before start day in September? Thanks
  14. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Obaby-Nanofold-Highchair-Cup-Cakes/dp/B00IJX253K I have this for sale if anyone is interested in excellent condition.
  15. My mum accidentally knocked her brand new smart tv and has cracked the screen and as it was just bought has not arranged insurance/not bought at the time of purchasing. Does anyone know locally where we can take it to be hopefully fixed? TIA
  16. Are there any reliable, reasonably priced handymen who have a few hours free and could help me with a couple small living room sideboards and a couple other small bits ideally before the 24th, if not can wait until a week. Please PM with fees. Thanks in advance.
  17. we have been on the waiting list since 2016, I would not bother! although I have heard of children starting whilst only being on the waiting list for a short period of time so not sure how accurate their waiting list actually is, you may be one of the lucky ones!
  18. Hi Renata Ok great, we are lucky enough to be in a location with a number of good schools so would be happy with my child to be offered most in East Dulwich. St. John?s is on our doorstep so likely to be offered due to distance but will probably put as 3rd or 4th but would be ok with being offered a place.
  19. Hi bellenden bear What I meant by wasted 1st choice was I wouldn?t want to not get offered 2nd more realistic choice for a 1st that was less realistic but would prefer dd to be offered, so if I put a school 2nd and someone put it as their 1st but we live nearer wouldn?t the person who put it as 1st be more likely to be offered a place?? hope that makes sense!
  20. Thank you Serena, that is very helpful. Yes I will definitely be looking at the schools September and ask for furthest distances offered, I want to be realistic with schools we?ll apply for and not waste 1st choice. I think we have more of a chance of dd getting into Belham than Harris ED. Caroline- I agree with you re goose green, yes it?s improved alot and seems to be getting more and more popular but also not sure, We will go to open day incase we are offered gg.
  21. Hi Carolinebog We are by goose green park and nearest school is St. John?s which is great, also close to the new Belham school on bellenden road which will probably be our 2nd choice if no chance of an offer at Harris ED. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on the distances, I believe most children that go to Harris do live very close to the school so like most schools in the area their catchment is probably small.
  22. in particular harris primary east dulwich. On southwarks website they only list the distances for community schools. Just wondering if there is any point in listing harris ed as 1st choice for daughter due to start school next year, we are near goose green. Thanks
