  1. I saw a couple of guys out with brushcutters today in Dulwich Park today so maybe they are tending to some of the overgrowth.
  2. Thanks Malumbu, but I need level square doors and my experience says skips demonstrate why a door has been discarded ! i’ve also been down the route of buying secondhand doors and then having them dipped to remove the paint and then having them warp in the door frame🤣 thanks for the Sydenham tip, I will look into that.
  3. Need to replace half a dozen or so Victorian (four panel) doors, standard sizes give or take, I’ve had a look around tinternet but wondering if anyone already has a decent source. Just looking for straight replacements, I presume the doors are pine, if not maybe oak. Either way I’ll probably go by the look of the door anyway when purchasing. Thanks in advance.
  4. Keys found on path just south of the swing park/kids play area. pm me with description of keys
  5. The end of a decade and a half of gaslighting, they must be exhausted. Oh boy, are we going to hear some coercive BS in the next 6 weeks. For some reason they don’t seem to be boasting about how well we are doing in education, crime and policing, fishing, agriculture, health, prisons, trade, trade agreements, immigration, transportation, utilities (including water), amongst other things. They seem to be focussing on exporting individual ‘illegal’ immigrants to Africa for more than it costs to take a journey into space. And rainbow-coloured lanyards for use within the civil service. I wonder why?🤔
  6. If you have a campervan (windows all round, seats in) they’re treated just like cars - come unannounced as often as you need. So I think it’s a way to avoid commercial interests’ abuse of the service. Imagine if you provided a local clearance service, you could empty peoples gardens and houses and take it straight to the dump and have nothing to pay.
  7. I had these aggressive men visit a few months ago, one of them threatened me physically and broke my gate. Quite scarey. All for insisting I have a choice whether I buy or not. When I mentioned it on here, some total idiot said I brought it on myself 🤣🙄
  8. Seems counter-intuitive to be forcing people to immigrate.
  9. If you accidentally gave them the wrong account to send the money into, just transfer it into the account it should’ve gone to. Any accountant will understand that mistakes can be made when you’re handling several accounts. Done it myself loads of times and never had a problem with any accounting. Totally legit.
  10. Was it actually a bed, or something less obvious ? Either way sounds gross!
  11. I used to talk to this man several times a year over the years, whenever he was out front with his bird. I used to take those green London parakeet thingies to him if I found them injured (although they always died within a day or so, he would bury them in his garden). The property was sold to a developer I learnt from the gentleman. I think it has been split into two (maybe three) flats. He delayed the takeover of the property with the help of Southwark I believe, waiting until a suitable property up near Milton Keynes became available (can’t quite remember the name of the town near MK, it may have been the one where the code breaky stuff happened). All things come and go so it was a shame the man left, otherwise I think he was very happy living here, just had limited accommodation options locally and perhaps needed to be nearer his daughter as he progresses through the curve. And it would be interesting if anybody is still in touch with him!
  12. found Near the great exhibition pub on Thursday. Please private message me and describe the name/word spelt out on the beads attached to the key fob
  13. Whereabouts Charlie?!
  14. Same here, since last April, near Great Exhibition pub. Particularly bad last autumn and the last two weeks. I would have jumped already but not sure which network will give me a better signal - the coverage maps for all providers seem to show weak signal here. I’m loathe to switch and have same issue/diff provider. Vodaphone have been fine on phone and easy to contact in my opinion, but they seem to read from a script trying the same old fixes which do not work. I think they can see coverage is weak but they’ll never concede that they’re oversubscribed / do not provide a good signal. I’ve also noticed a predictable ’blip’ in voice calls when walking down LL, near parade of shops with Johnnie’s, Baratts, Jade, etc. If we could mobilise collectively we would maybe have some leverage / recognition.
  15. The cranes are still there so I’d guess it’s still going upwards! Thanks for info.
  16. At the top of Nunhead cemetery there is a lookout point from which you can look through the maintained gap in the trees across London to Saint Pauls cathedral. I noticed recently that in the foreground there is a “rogue“ building gradually being constructed and increasing in height, floor by floor. If a few more floors are added the view of Saint Pauls will be deleted, or at least significantly reduced. Does anybody know anything about it, I have no way of knowing where the building is or how far from Nunhead? I’m not trying to start a campaign or anything (I wouldn’t know which building to address) but I wondered whether it had ever been a consideration to maintain the view, I imagine not as it may not have been obvious to developers or the council.
  17. Was closed as of week before Xmas.
  18. Snapped this photo of a “East Dulwich” sign when on a bus approaching the roundabout at the end of Lordship Lane. I would have expected such a sign to be on the opposite side of the road for people entering Lordship Lane from the roundabout. So is this sign saying we are entering East Dulwich at that point, or is it saying we have just been there 🤣🤣😳🤔 Or is it just a legacy of old signage.
  19. Call southwark council they will guide you. Keep a diary of the activity/noise and the disruption/impact it causes.
  20. Would make a great nail bar or fried chicken emporium. Or both.
  21. Sounds wholly pointless!
  22. Perhaps attach a message on the cart and try to get a dialogue going. Or, if you know (seems you do) the person, speak with them on the market Saturday. You might be able to get your concerns across and come to an agreement.
  23. Thanks Pugwash, I have emailed the police. I’m sorry to hear that this person also was intimidating other people in the area. I feel quite strongly that we should not have to suffer threatening behaviour, just for answering our own front door!
