  1. Gomme = sugar syrup, used for mixing drinks. Anywhere round here / where ?! Advice appreciated. Cheers KK
  2. A tiny part of what needs fixing in this country. Most fundamentals are screwed and there’s no will to change, even among the population. “Don’t look up” !
  3. Dogging on One Tree Hill. (Not participating 🙄)
  4. It’s like waiting for one of your dogs ridiculously stinky farts to dissipate…
  5. Sorry if I've missed it, when do they close please ?
  6. You could start with asking the builders, no?
  7. Dulwich Village, our very own Florida. Perhaps Johnson will name his new place Maro-Lago (Completo-Twatto would be more fitting IMO). And will the residents join in opposition to his proposed encampment there as per FL?
  8. Dog ownership is huge now, esp post lockdown, horse traffic is pretty rare in Dulwich park tbh. Is mixing the two realistically practical ? Many dogs off lead are going to react to horses turning up nearby, very few I’d imagine being trainable to the extent they’ll ignore a massive horse(s). What happened as described in OP is not ok and could have ended far worse.
  9. True, DR. However it seems not true for mobile version, never seem able to jump to latest post of a thread when using mobile.
  10. Can’t blame the cafe for responding to thefts by making folks pay in front. Not sure they should make exceptions for those who will automatically assume offence..
  11. Wow thanks ianr !!
  12. If I’m understanding you right and you want to simply get a collection of visual images captured in a PDF, I would get all the photos or images in a directory then create a new PDF and then use the page editing tool to select the files in that directory and it will just load them up as pages. You can rearrange their order after the fact using Page editing tool. I have very rudimentary knowledge but I’ve done things like that.
  13. I am also finding my way through the private message function. Current thing confusing me at the moment is if I send a private message it seems to go to an outbox and not into the sent box or the sent/read box, stays there for hours or longer so I assume the addressee hasn’t received it which means whatever we’re trying to progress, cannot. Whether I have to figure something out or someone else has to fix something I’m sure it’ll settle down soon. At least we have a forum still thank heavens 🕺
  14. I'm reading all this as total bluster from the PM candidate(s). They have to say something in the pointless 'leadership' race, this is just another BS proposal - it hasn't been enacted, probably never will be (eminently unworkable, no?), distracts the public nicely and (they hope) makes it seem like the candidate has things to say. 'Tax the Rich' would work for me, but they'll never propose that.
  15. I’m not sure how they could prosecute in court without evidence for why they’re so cock sure you owe them. Especially evidence you’ve not had the chance to see yourself (at which point you’d obviously be convinced to pay). Ask for it and if they don’t provide it say you’ll pay when they do provide it. Otherwise they can piss off!
  16. Sure it’s not just a hole in the sky?
  17. Saw this guy mid week hassling people outside the post office and the sweet shop on lordship Lane, a guy from a wagon possibly council or a builder got into his wagon and then saw what the guy was doing so he got out and approached the guy and basically told him to sort his shit out because he is pissing people off who have no business with him. The beggar guy seemed to shut up for a bit but carried on after the wagon drove off. Been around a while this guy and he’s determined to just ruin that moment you’re near him.
  18. I have a couple of pairs of curtains I need making, from bigger previous curtains. Private Message me if interested.
  19. Yeah 1976, really persistent heat for ages. everything growing died. it seemed. I remember the afternoon the rain started, already had our shirts off cos of the heat, first drops were big and warm, then we stood there getting totally soaked next to the house. wasn't the final end of the hot days though, from memory.
  20. meanwhile, try going to the park around the same time.
  21. Yeah, 1990 ED was not the flashiest of neighbourhoods, by a country mile ! There was easy aggro in the pubs around here, Foresters, Palmerston. None of my mates would come down here for the weekend, let alone a night, felt safer up Northside. Loved it though, and as Sue says, all the versions of ED have had their plus-sides. 22. yeah I did speed watch several times with Kevin - I also saw how motorists react to 20mph, they don't give two shits about it. Although we can see this behaviour anyway without doing speedwatch !
  23. return to oil painting I say, that'll put an end to it all !!
