  1. If the fabric of the wall is weak or unstable it?ll take more than a curtain fitter to obtain a solid long-lasting result.
  2. Sounds like we need a Lego diorama. Where?s DR ??!
  3. Ha ha - time for prosecution ! The police will want video or multiple witness evidence, I?d expect. What a tool 🙄
  4. Perhaps they transported the bomb(s) by air rather risking via roads to place of detonation.
  5. There's something in that but.... Most of us can sit in a room by ourselves and decide fairly accurately what is healthy / unhealthy food and whether to eat it or not. Our behaviour is influenced by external factors obviously, but the bottom line is our responsibility to inform and feed ourselves sensibly - why would anyone rely on the Govt for anything to do with this ? We all also know very well the consequences of not doing so. I don't think there's (yet) a need for a "but God (Govt, media, whatever..) made me do it" moment.
  6. The 176 goes to Leicester Sq I believe, which is central West End. 7. I don?t buy the ?we?ve no time to cook actual food? angle, especially given that we?ve more time-saving gadgets than ever before ! You can cook a big pot of daal in 45mins, 5mins prep, just chuck it all in and stir occasionally between doing other things. It?ll last all week. You can throw in it whatever you want. Just one example of an easy home-cooked, time-saving dish. I suspect preference trumps time limitations, how many hours a day do people with ?no time to cook? sit watching the idiot box ?!
  8. Disgusting behaviour. Behaviour of an insecure player, they couldn?t even just let a funeral procession proceed with flags. We could hope the profile of the plight of Palestinians would be increased, but their plight?s been known and documented for 70yrs already. Sanction Russia, but not Israel ?!
  9. I don?t really expect my fave cuisines to somehow all magically and coincidentally occur on my high st, I?m used to (and don?t mind) heading to Lewisham to pick-up Sri Lankan or Camberwell for alt. Chinese. We?re lucky to have these options even in the same or adjacent boroughs, let alone on a single street of our choosing !!
  10. I?d also prefer a wider diversity of cuisine on LL (I?d like to see Tibetan, or NorthEast Thai, or Burmese), but given the soaring business rates, exorbitant rents, increasing running costs, it?s not a viable likelihood. We?re possibly less likely to see that than we have ever been ! The focus will be increasingly mainstream I?d expect - as businesses chase the most likely buck, in a bid to somehow survive.
  11. I think most of the neg stuff had been because the operation is a chain and they have previous, albeit at another site. Operations like this often work to a model, which includes consistency, so if you?ve had a duff experience before, you conceivably could again. I agree nothing should be pre-judged, but a multi-outlet setup like this will have a reputation - which may help / hinder them when they open a new branch. I don?t think all new businesses get slated before they open in this area ! 12. Did RSPCA confirm they WON?T put the fox down ?
  13. If I ran The Lordship pub, I?d be getting the name of my pub taken off Megans?s signage ! Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Spartacus Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Maybe, looking at their website, Lordship > refers > > to Lordship lane as that seems to be how they > name > > their other businesses after the place or road > > they are on. > > > > But they haven't named it Megan's on Lordship > Lane! > > They've named it Megan's on The Lordship!
  14. Oooh, but there won?t be dog poo round the corner because it?s all evaporated. Haven?t you heard ?! 🙄 Rockets Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > heartblock Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > The dog poo analogy is quite a good one. 15. I?m trying to make sense of why landlords in (what seems like) several pubs chose to close rather than multiply the day(s) income, after financially hard times, at a time when they need the money. I?m not convinced someone of sound mind would do solely because they don?t like where some people are from or what their background is. Financial suicide isn?t it ? Therefore I?m postulating why they may have closed. I could be wrong in my previous suggestion but I struggle to see what other reason someone would do that - assuming they?re of sound mind. And the decision process / reasons for it, would be theirs, not mine.
  16. Blue phone shop up by ED station. Bloke?s called Pras, his brother runs the newsagent opposite (in case you?re not sure when phone shops gonna be open).
  17. Have you spoken with the respective landlords before raising an accusation of racism ?! It?s a pretty heavy thing to be accused of. Could you list your evidence here please ? I?ve already suggested that those businesses which closed may have feared damage and violence - why else would they turn their backs on ?1000s extra turnover ?! 🤔
  18. It?s the worst time for takeaway food providers to be extorted by delivery orgs. Shame. Something has to give and it won?t be the quality of food improving or conditions getting better for the catering staff.
  19. This morning workmen had fixed the signage and were putting finishing touches to the hoarding outside. The signage says ?Megans?, so if they are closing (before even opening) I wonder why they are still attending to the signage. Looks like they are opening?
  20. Thanks legal. And you can turn up with a postal vote paper, right ? (Asking for a friend..)
