  2. Froch will not leave the tournament it would be professional suicide I mean who would he fight if the super6 is effectively defining who's best, 2nd best etc etc ? He was beat by the guy that Ward beat so he's not exactly going to be no.1 draw, all eyes at super-middle weight will be on the outcomes of this tournament plus perhaps Bute. If Carl had won on Saturday he wouldn't be arsed about Abraham in Nottinhgam, I think it's just post-fight blurts. He must feel pretty sore losing his world title and he's the sort of guy you feel who just has to say something about something. He knows he lost, Robert McCracken's advice in the corner was OK I thought, although he did say exactly what he'd said when fighting Taylor, "he's conning ya"..

  5. Yeah wasn't a bad contest, Kessler made a good account of himself and was strong all the way. I think Froch was a bit shy in coming forward he was dropping that left hand and waiting for the attacks bit too much for me, fair enough that's his style, but with Kessler coming forward all the time the judges are obliged to reward the aggressor. Maybe Froch thought Kessler would gas in the later rounds or that he'd be able to grab a late KO at will, but did not work that way for him. Froch actually deserved the loss IMO, and I really wanted him to win. Froch gave the fight away as much as Kessler took it, Kessler did no more than is expected of you in a ring - fight. I hope in the longer term this loss does Froch good and adjusts his game both defensively and in what he does wth his rounds. Kessler also hopefully learned from his loss to Ward. Based on Froch's performance on Saturday I would say Arthur Abraham will beat him.

  7. Find a cafe/bar nearby on some street corner and spend a few hours sitting and watching everyone and everything go by, you may strike up some conversations with locals or other people passing through and this will inform your stay.
  8. Imps - the tiny hard liquorice sweets in a little box. Memory lane stuff I guess.
  9. Every artist or performer who is unknown and just putting their all into it for the sake of creating. THEY don't get enough credit. And eventually some of them get 'known' by lucky us, but most don't.
  10. what about those tiny liquorice hard sweets that came in little box (red and white box I think) what were they called, would love to taste them again
  11. It would appear the DVLA office should expect to receive a lot of calls from the community-minded socially-conscious of ED as they carry out their 'duty' and 'obligation' to the UK's people, cleansing the streets of cheats, in reporting car owners of untaxed vehicles, INCLUDING those who have simply forgotten, been ill, been on holiday, had accidents or experienced the birth of a child and been temporarily distracted. If we get some of the unintentional evaders too well that's just too bad eh, the law's the law. Surely, the community spirited above have never inadvertently got on the train at ED station and expected to buy a ticket at LB having travelled there 'ilegally' eh ? Nor paid their TV licence (it's a TAX, right ?) late, not expecting to be penalised the very day they are overdue ? C'mon folks you KNOW there's no justification for grassing folks down your street, no-one is saying (any form of) tax dodging is acceptable at all - watch the cars for a while, remind them 'in the interests of the community' with a polite note, then perhaps report if your advice is ignored ? Wouldn't that make for the better 'community spirit' ?
  12. Have to say I didn't know the history of substance abuse and assaults on his wife, let alone that he had nippers, that's bad news. Thanks for the extra info, depressing though it is.
  13. Real shame to hear about the death of Edwin Valero, who I've mentioned on this thread a couple of times, aged only 24. Admittedly not the best technician ever, he always came to fight and was absoultely relentless in his pursuit of the KO, 27 fights, 27 wins, 27 KOs. His first 18 KOs in round ONE ! I'm sure Pac would have beaten him, and perhaps others, but he was exciting with a fearsome punch. We've been robbed of some great contests and there will be conjecture on just how far he would have gone. He'd already held 2x world belts but relinquished them in favour of moving up a weight. I will not say anything about his personal life, this is purely a boxing comment.

  17. I get your points I really do. However, I'm not saying it's good to avoid paying car tax or brak the law or that I would be happy to have an untaxed car hit mine, it is ignorant to suggest otherwise. Read my email I am asking a basic question to the offended person/OP. True, MarmoraMan, many arguments can be drawn about this and that. But is there really a need to report things that don't really affect you in any real and calculable way, when you don't know the story and havn't bothered to try and check ? You don't go around reporting people on a what if basis just to make yourself feel better and convince your self it's for the communal good (as above is being suggestde as a 'reason' for it), not in this example and not without perhaps doing something less aggressive like leaving a polite note on the car saying what you intend to do. In some of the cases there could be a reason for it that if you knew it you may act less self-assured about it, you just don't know. Your belligerent 'reporting' could be screwing someone who has no bad intent. In the spirit of 'community' would the same person move down the bus/train in a rush hour, offer a seat to a pregnant woman or interfere when an old lady in the street is being hassled by youths, maybe yes maybe no, but the example above is a cheap and cowardly win. Curtain twitching.

  21. If it's not 'taking' your parking space and the 'untaxed' cars are not flat-tyred wrecks does it really matter ? What's with this controlling other people thing.
