  5. Didn't know about Ganapati, gonna have to roll in there and see if they will do me a thali on a leaf, I lived on them for months as they were the cheapest way to get full in South India - will be gutted to pay more than Rs25 though !! Other: Though not a vegetarian, I do like veggie food and am surprised there is not a dedicated veggie restaurant around SE22.
  6. Siobhan - wow thanks for that amazing kind offer ! I will find out in next week or so whether I'm gonna be working there, so I will let you know. As for times of day - basically I have to be there for core business hours and I think there will be a little flexibility since it's a bit of a hike. How long does it take by car, must be 90 mins, no ? I'd rather not work as far away as Uxbridge but I'm glad for any work I can get ! KK

  13. Layout unchanged. I found the remnants of the old iron range in the boarded-up fireplace of my kitchen at back of the house. The outside loo still had the cast iron toilet cistern on the wall, which I fixed-up and am now using in my bathroom (above the kitchen), the outside loo is now a 'garden store'. The drain still works. I too ripped out the old gas pipes from the breasts of two bedrooms but they partially remain under the floorboards. Top floor of house was damaged by a nearby bomb blast so was largely rebuilt. I replaced the lead water pipe to the mains. Down the end of the garden was buried a veritable array of broken and intact bottles/jars/toothpaste pots in glass and 'pot'. When I opened up the kitchen fireplace there were stashed some commemorative tin crown-shaped ornaments with chains (for hanging on the wall), presumably from a coronation though I know not which and there was also a bottle of spirit/fortified wine (judging by bottle shape), not sure what type as label long perished. I do wonder sometimes if the contents are drinkable....

  16. In playing with my new iPhone (ahem) I have discovered a way to get the image on to your device, in case this is useful to anyone. For each image (ED->LB and LB->ED) : On your computer... Open the (small) PDF and do a screenshot and past into Paint. Select the timetable only (not surrounding white space). Paste the timetable only into a new Paint image. Attach/Email it to the email account you can use via iPhone. On your iPhone... Open the email you just sent to yourself. When you open the email you will see the image displayed. Save the image. It should now appear in your iPhone's Camera Roll, like this (see attachment, dunno how to paste image into this msg) : PS-Copyright Respek to sliding_doors.... 12/12: edited to remove attachment so as not to cause confusion against later versions of same timetable.

  19. Yeah I read on BBC Boxing that if Pacman takes on anybody else it may be Antonio Margarito, which would be a real shame as I think Pacman would dismantle him fairly quickly (though Marg's head IS made of granite). What was more intruiging this weekend was Ryan Rhodes' defence of his European Light Middle crown against the Italian Messi, I didn't watch it (Sky) unfortunately but by all accounts Messi was outclassed. This doesn't necessarily mean Rhodes is ready for a world title, but his age (33) may just push him to a title fight faster than may be best for him at this time. I really like Ryan's style and his contest against Jamie Moore was great, Moore looked invincible, too solid, but Ryan moved well and starting landing big in the early middle rounds. Would really like Ryan to pull off a World but time's not his bed fellow.
