  3. whereabouts is the bush on CP road sticking out ?
  4. Two attempted muggings. Both times fought 'em. One they ran off. Second one he fought back but I front-kicked him in the guts and bought enough time to hail passing car and chap scarpered. Both times I did not wait until they hit me, I hit first and tried to make it count. In both cases I was approached very late at night. They chat about crap while they line you up for a smack. Do not engage, watch your distance, ignore their words. As soon as they are in range they will go for you. As soon as they hit first they've pretty much got you due to shock/trauma factor. Not my cup of tea but in the heat of the moment I find I don't want some dick pushing me around.

  6. Dunno but 2 weeks ago it was no service on a Saturday morning as well, almost screwed my trip away for the day as I had a train to catch from LB.
  7. Fair point Cate, it's totally subjective. I would plumb for Jimmy Scott, only blues singer in his 70s I know who's voice hasn't broken, his timing is amazing.
  8. "How many men honestly get convicted for being a paeophile when they are innocent and was just helping out? " Who cares how many men get convicted ? What's of greater concert to these men would be the finger being pointed and the aggravation / reputational damage that causes, rather than fear of conviction (which will be minimal if they know they are innocent). If you're cleared of any crime the rumours still perpetuate, "He's the bloke accused of molesting that little boy don't you know, mind out he's getting close to your Tristram..'.
  9. Birthday Blues - Bert Jansch
  10. Number 69 - Johnny Parker's Washboard Band
  11. First Mate it's an obvious point but what's the point in making it ? Are you saying because homo sapiens are dangerous there should be NO restictions on other animals because that would be HYPOCRITICAL ??
  12. It always astounds me that members of the public are allowed to walk about with animals (on a lead or otherwise) which, if they (the animals !) lose their temper / feel inclined, are capable of badly mauling or killing another member of the public while being ferocious or intimidating enough to prevent successful intervention by bystanders. For me, it should not be about anything other than the potential damage an animal has the power to inflict on somebody. Animals that can inflict slight injury, maybe. Animals that can inflict major injury, why ?
  13. In My Time Of Dying - Bob Dylan
  14. Whoops !! Currently I'm eating a mango a day.. I used to get em from supermarkets one or two a week but a few weeks ago I saw em for sale in boxes of 6 or so outside the grocers next to the mosque on St where Market is. They are yummo, they DO need eating sharpish cos they ARE ready, but man they are gooood. I peel em with a carrot scraper, chop flesh off with a French cooks knife then chew the remainder off the stone as a special (and messy !) treat. Fave fruit at moment - absolutely NO issue with the fibres, these ones I get far make up for that in taste. MM
  15. High On A Mountain - Ola Belle Reed
  16. perhaps the only concievably useful comment which stevebailey receieved in a thread of attacks. but the general response and tone is one of attacks nonetheless. well done for finding an exception, but I wasn't painting a rule.
  17. So a bloke mentions vandalism of local childrens playground apparatus which is not yet fully constructed. And people complain about: - well that's not a REALLY serious issue/crime, not worthy of mention on the forum - the WAY that he mentions the vandalism and they insult him. Pretty weird.
  18. Anyway Clarey28, I hope this distraction from your original points has not turned you into a bitter man-hating individual. There are decent guys out there loads of them and you will find one, so ignore all this negative stuff OK !
  19. Rock All Our Babies To Sleep - Jimmie Rodgers
  20. They are poisonous until about 9.30pm this evening....
  21. dating agencies are no different than other areas in life where you may meet propective partners or contacts (depending on what you're after). It's naive to think otherwise. There are people 'looking for love', looking to 'marry', 'looking to shag', which are all perfectly respectable IMO, as long as up front everyone is clear about their prefs. It can happen that you want 'a relationship', but have some damned fine rutting on the way before meeting 'The One'. But ultimately it's up to YOU to discern who the person is stood in front if you. This mention of sharks and blokes being single 'for a good reason' is a little generilistic, doesn't the same apply in any pub in town ? and where does it say that dating agencies carry people with the 'moral' high ground. It's up to YOU to set your boundaries and tolerances of what you want/dislike/will allow and act accordingly. So look after yourself and have some good fun on the way, if it suits YOU and doesn't hurt/confuse THEM.
  22. Clarey28, perhaps hanging out in places where the things you're into take place, ie. if you're into films/productions/lectures/some music the southbank or barbican (which both have bars) ! It's great on the southbank this time of year and you'll have to squash up with strangers to get a seat on one of the terraces by the river.. basically whatever you are into go there just a suggestion..
  23. My 4 year old girl while we were driving up to Barbican family film club.. Dad ! Yep ? My brain's not working properly. Oh, that sounds pretty heavy baby. Yeah, I think it's gonna stop in a minute, it's broken. What does it feel like, I mean HOW can you tell ? Well, I've gone blind Dad. *WANTS to concentrate on driving through Elephant & Castle but looking around to check daughter 'looks' OK* Well, can you see anything, I mean can you see Daddy ? Yeah but you're not real, Dad. OK.... can you see the road and cars ? Yeah. Well that's good sweetie, maybe you're not blind just yet. Dad I think my brain's working again now. Excellent darling because the film starts in 20 minutes...
  24. I was totally stunned by what she said and asked her what she was good at, suggesting maybe she could concentrate on the things that interest HER the most so she can be happy at doing well with those.. But no, I failed to get her new parents, the sack of presents was pretty much full of only party bags, no adoptive parents in there that I could see !
