Ambulances serviced once a year!? 2. Paramedics use their own phones as satnav? Baloney. Fight your war with facts man, for goodness sake.

Would it not just be simpler to acknowledge that the phrase is offensive to some, and alienating potential allies? If you just remove it you?ll get more supporters and can concentrate on the issues at hand rather than wasting it on futile discussion?

Back to the OP, I'm glad I'm not the only one to have been put off by the phrase. It's trivialising the slogan of a serious movement for their own agenda. For that alone I wouldn't support their cause.

DELIVERED 29 March Sympathies, I thought my post was bad...it looks like large letters are seriously delayed/lost whereas parcels and regular letters are getting through eventually. And yes, anything i post out of ED is arriving within a few days - I don't know anyone else in the UK who is suffering like we are.

I did read somewhere (possibly in the 19 pages of this thread) that the postal workers did ok out of the deal, as they got an effective pay rise (by getting inner London pay weighting in Peckham) and better facilities at Peckham. So if the union rep is purely working for the workers, closure was a good option.

And what might the benefits of Brexit be for an EU born citizen resident in London? Genuinely interested.

Increased graffiti during lockdowns?
Lowlander replied to matthew_n's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Does anyone know how to get graffiti removed from green BT street cabinets? Southwark wouldn?t do it, and the numbers they give for BT weren?t helpful - they said it should be the council... -
What on earth has the nationality got to do with it? What if they were Nigerian or English? Drop the obvious prejudices and you may get more sympathy. There is no set time for anyone of any age to go to bed.

If only that were the case :-) In reality it was likely the fact that the combined efforts of many people complaining to Royal Mail and Helen Hayes that resulted in a temporary improvement.

After complaining to Royal Mail and letting Helen Hayes MP know a month ago I had a deluge of letters ad parcels. Deliveries became a bit better for a while. I'm now waiting for two parcels posted end-September...by Wednesday it'll be ten working days and the sender can get their money back. So can I, but from now on i'll make every effort to avoid delivery by Royal Mail... And the tragedy is that the Royal Mail staff are most like treated better than DHL etc., and it's not their fault...

Something is going wrong there - as bic basher said it's ?3.10 peak (06:30 - 09:30) and ?2.60 off-peak. Using Oyster or contactless the most you can pay is ?5.70 (?5.20 if you travel after 09:30)

Is it a summons? I would get in touch with Helen Hayes straightaway, I imagine if it went to court they would be sympathetic given the well-documented issues. Also, complain to Royal Mail (I did at the beginning of the month), they'll write to you acknowledging the issues which again is in your favour. Good luck

Lordship lane end of Upland road - missing a parcel and two letters posted a month ago. But have received letters posted recently. Has a batch from the first part of August ended up in a pile somewhere?

It?s legal to split and sell multipacks separately.

The bigger Boots branches sell watch batteries - most are about ?3. Use a sharp kitchen knife to prise the back off, and snap back into place. It only takes one or two minutes to replace.

Philips. Don't go for cheap bulbs, I replaced all the ceiling bulbs in our place with warm 100w equivalents, and other lamps with 50w or so...about ?15 a bulb two years ago, but well worth spending extra. The light is not dissimilar to the old filament bulbs, and my electricity bill as gone down enough to have recovered the cost over two, maybe three years. There're all warm, i don't understand this cold for kitchens and bathrooms, as you say you end up looking like a corpse in the mirror. You can't mimic daylight.
