  1. Please can we keep this East Dulwich specific
  2. This got out of hand and became too vulgar so I removed the thread after complaints were received
  3. Time to lock this one. It will probably disappear shortly too as there are rules about vulgarity.
  4. Please stay on topic (off topic posts removed)
  5. It is a community issue however on the forum it is more relevant in the Family Room discussion area. I see you have already put up a post in the Family Room discussion area so so I am locking this duplicate post to avoid confusion.

  7. Moving this to the Lounge as it is not East Dulwich specific
  8. Moved to the What's on section, sorry for any confusion caused.
  9. Unfortunately we get messages sent to Forum HQ where people think we work on the forum 24 hours a day and should deal with them straight away, unfortunately we do not and we do like to take lunch. Also my original message simply said "Sorry but we am going to have to ask you to stop posting about cats looking for home every week on the forum. As a non-East Dulwich charity we have to draw the line, you can post once a month or so..." has been made into a bit of a public issue by TarahC. I have already replied to you about the pets section and the other issues raised so could I ask that you please let it lie.

  11. Hi >> jammy << Sorry there is not a list of currently active online users.
  12. Strawbs Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Think the thread should read 5th August not 5th > Sept unless we are predicting when we are all > going to get done! >:D< Well spotted, I have changed the title
  13. I know what you are saying, but unfortunately there are some people who bumped their posts up once (or twice) a day and therefore the top 12 posts were bumped from the day before. Anyway there were a few complaints about it so the rule was brought in (it was not brought in to annoy people).
  14. The new version of the software does give you the option to close your account and we are hopefully upgrading the software in the next couple of months. However it does not delete the users' messages. There have only been about six requests to close accounts in the last three years so that feature is not on the high priority list.
  15. I have changed the first sentence to make sense, sorry about that.
  16. OK, my confusion was because you want to paint a picture of how some others might view the place. Speculation on what others may think is something we do not to act on, we like to act on direct feedback hence the recent changes. [Edited once] for bad writing
  17. I do not want to post up a list of naughty pupils because (as you know) it would make people naughty so they can appear on the list, it is better to make an example of a couple of abusers, as in this instance. This is also done to businesses who lie on the forum to get work. The forum is run moderately, sorry you think that it is strict but it works well. Persistent offenders (of which there are only a handfull) get banned. AFN has asked to behave before, been temporarily banned, asked to behave, requested to be allowed back, been allowed back, banned again, registered as different users and banned again. As a voluntarily run forum we really have not got the time to deal with people like her/him so we just get rid. Anyway, the forum runs well and I (and I suspect others) would like it to stay that way.
  18. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Cool, are we having public floggings now? No, but you once said it was a good to share messages like this, and I think it helps people be aware of what happens behind the scenes on the forum. And in the current climate tolerance to abuse is at a low.
  19. Here is a message from the user AllforNun I received last night: ------------------------- Subject: kim jon ill From: AllforNun To: Administrator Date: 05/08/2009 00:41 admin lets be honest whoever gave you this job made a big mistake, you may not have noticed the dissent among bloggers who have had enough of your over zealous behaviour, i am sure mark is aware as he has been pm'ed numerous times. Snorkys request to delete his profile should have been enough, you use the term ABUSE very liberally to defend your controlling behaviour. It is amusing that in blocking a number of ISP's as you have you have also managed to block a number of offices with approx 1000 people in each many who live and blog on the EDF. It would be a piece of piss to blog anon on this forum, untraceable etc, but the effort is, well just not interesting. Give up now, come to the table and negotiate and stop being gay, it really is very silly. much love AFN ---------------------- S/he was banned for abuse of the forum and following this message will not be allowed to return to the forum.
  20. You would be banned
  21. There were 15 messages one day saying "bump" which took up half the listings page. Top Tip: add some new information to the thread and it will be fine.
