Sent to the forum via email: Hi - could you please include this statement on your community website in response to recent concerns regarding our East Dulwich store. Somerfield statement: Our security teams are currently investigating these reports and liaising with the banks to establish whether there is a connection with our store in Lordship Lane. At this stage the banks have not confirmed a link and we our satisfied that our systems have been thoroughly checked and store security procedures have been followed correctly. Somerfield maintains its vigilance to this type of crime and continues to liase closely with the banks and the specialist police unit which deals with this type of fraud to ensure that our customers are protected at all times. Anyone who thinks they are affected by card fraud should immediately alert their bank. In the unlikely event a cardholder is an innocent victim of this or any type of fraud, they have excellent protection under The Banking Code, which means that they will not suffer any financial loss. Many thanks Kind Regards Julie Julie Daniels Community PR and Events Manager Somerfield Press Office 0117 9356811

Message sent to NatashaD: You have been told about this before. The original poster has stated that they have been racially abused yet you refuse to understand that they feel abused and therefore, with a lack of understanding, you abuse them further. Do not do it again. Regards The Administrator This is in reference to this posting previously where a user stated they felt racially abused http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,140553,142242#msg-142242 and were told to "get over it" by NatashaD. This behaviour, whether it is done because of an enjoyment of causing offence or thinking it is amusing to stir up personal anguish is wrong. Being controversial is fine however being controversial for controversy's sake at other people's expense is not something I wish to see and encourage on the the forum so please stop it. I hope you understand. -
Lounge time. It is like Hammer time but more socially acceptable.

Kens Barber shop on East Dulwich Road

I am going to lock this thread because of its dubious nature. I will remind readers that any funny business in the real world should be reported to the correct authorities. -
It was the bum conkers that did it
-
As this has gone wildly off topic it is time to move it to the Lounge.
-
I should have done this a while ago, and with the agreement with the original poster I am now moving this to the Lounge area where the debate may continue.

I've never seen any trouble outside or inside Sainsburys, apart from the aforementioned selfish gits who park their cars in the disabled/parent bays when they shouldn't.

Just to clarify, and as citizenED says, context is all. This is a thread about swearing and some threads in the Lounge are likened to being down the pub with friends and swearing is considered acceptable. However when there is sensible discussion in the other areas of the forum some people are offended by unnecessary and continued use of the F and C words. People do not use those words on Question Time, in pre-school nurseries, in front on the in-laws etc, the point being that to some people it is not the done thing to say fukcing cnut (and similar) in mature conversation, it offends, and I would ask people to respect other users of the forum. I have to consider everyone on this forum to keep it a decent place, if you do not like that then fuck off you bunch of fuck twats and stick your fuck up your @#$%&'s fuck. Twice.

Thread title changed to be more "factual" than "alertist", it is just the way I prefer titles. I would rather the alertist titles be used for bigger issues and announcements. I change titles sometimes and tend not to tell people but as this has been discussed I am telling you all. I mainly just change the ones that are written in CAPITALS, they annoy me. My sympathies to Curmudgeon for your loss. -
It has been brought to our attention that the forum is running slowly for some people, if this is happening to you then please try the following: Go to the homepage http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk Click on each links that say "Reset new posts" That's it. An explanation: Every time you visit the forum the system looks to see which messages you have not read, then adds them up and then shows you the number (and marks them as new ). When there are thousands this obviously takes time therefore may cause a delay in the system. I hope that helps.

macroban Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Now is this clever or downright dangerous? > What if it had been a malicious PHP script? > Does EDF Admin need to review security? It is definitely not downright dangerous. We do not want to stop people linking to other websites in their messages and, as in this case, it is on another website that the script runs. We cannot be responsible for other websites and their contents as there are rather a lot of them. I would however recommend that people keep their internet browsing software up to date (FireFox 3 is especially recommended) as their increased security may help those worried by malicious scripts. Security on the forum is reviewed frequently and any issues we discover are addressed immediately.

The discussion goes off topic and it is no longer East Dulwich specific. Being Lounged is not a punishment, it just means that the discussion can continue and talk about trees in Copenhagen, the original poster's intentions etc etc and that newer, fresher and more East Dulwich relevant issues can dominate the "East Dulwich issues" section.

There have been a couple of issues and we are keeping an eye on things. Sorry for any inconvenience.
