  1. As this thread is so soon after what was a sensitive incident for those involved I am going to lock it. I hope you understand.
  2. Sorry about that Sue, do your postings have the word "bump" in them?
  3. You can carry this on in the Lounge
  4. "The Lounged Sessions '08" t-shirt for this thread I think.
  5. Do you know who started it? Did you post in that thread? Who else posted in that thread? When was it? What were the adverts? What should I search on? Help me so that I may help you.
  6. Moving this to the Lounge area. And please try and refrain from name calling.
  7. Just for a bit of clarity, "the forum" is made up of the 4,485 registered users, the 1,900 people a day who visit it and the people who post on it. Some of them are a bit mad. "The forum" does not want the book shop or any shop to be closed down although "some people who express their opinion on the forum" may, there is a difference. I just wanted to clarify that.
  8. Thread locked because it is discussing an already discussed topic entitled "Restaurants - hygiene stars" (see link in previous message by SeanMacGabhann)
  9. Lounged
  10. I have Lounged this as it has gone on too long in the "East Dulwich issues/gossip" section.
  11. I have moved this thread to the Lounge area
  12. Sorry for the delay. You can reply to your own thread to move it up but please make the post contain more information. Once a day is too much, you will be better off doing it every three or four days but please do not take the mickey.
  13. Thank you for that Keef, I have corrected the original post.
  14. Passing on this message that was sent to me earlier: Dear Administrator I would be grateful if you could post a message as there does appear to be a high level of concern in the local community. I have noticed on the forum that local residents have made a number of complaints about serious anti-social behaviour from the household at Whateley Rd. Would it be possible to pass on my contact details to complainants. I work for Southwark Anti-Social Behaviour Unit and we are investigating and gathering evidence on this case. Emailed complaints can be sent to me [email protected] or to [email protected]. I can also be contacted on 07903 652962. We are working closely with Dulwich Police and complaints can also be sent to [email protected]. We would also look at any complaints concerning the "whistler". He has now been identified. Thanks for your assistance Joan Leary
  15. Sorry, that was my fault. Because there were so many people posting the message "bump" to bump their messages up the list and I have a dislike of messages without content in that section I put a ban on the word "bump" last week and forgot to tell people, especially the moderators. Your message had the word "bumper" in it so it was being disallowed. I have lifted the ban so you can post the message now, sorry for the inconvenience and I will just return to deleting messages the just say "bump".
  16. The reason threads go back on topic is because it is unfair on the majority when the discussion goes off topic, usually about personal things that are of no interest to anyone who is interested in that original topic. That said they can be quite amusing which is why you will sometimes find, usually after a "get back on topic" reminder, that threads get "Lounged" where they can continue in a more relaxed environment. Anyway welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy it and find it useful and fun and perhaps one day your dreams of an "oily-buttock bar just of Lordship Lane" will come true. Now please stay on topic.
  17. I have to step in and get shirty
  18. No it's not where the Forum's IP is coming from but why would it be VERY wrong?
  19. I don't know, could you PM it to me please so I can investigate thank you
  20. Locking this thread as it has descended into accusing someone of a criminal offence without evidence which is wholly unfair. This thread will probably disappear altogether within the next day.
  21. ok, this thread is officially a pain in the backside. I get complaints about its content and I get complaints about it being curtailed so I am drawling the line. I am going to ask people to please let this thread finish. In fact have now decided to implement the newly invented "Whatley Road rule" which means that when people's attitudes to individuals get out of hand and something need to be done the thread will be locked at my discretion. This rule will hardly ever be used, just when I feel that I need an excuse to bring this house to order. East Dulwich is a small(ish) place, talk of lynch mobs and direct action against people is not what (our) decent society does these days. There are proper channels to get things sorted, please use them, you may not like them but I recommend you use them. The forum is meant to be a fun and useful place, this discussion is neither fun or useful anymore. I do not want it being used as a cesspit for breeding loathing and bad shit about local people. I hope you understand and thank you for using the forum.

  24. I am going to lock this thread now as Ondine has finished it on a good point. Another thread has been started here http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,131033, please try and keep it from being abusive.
