Not sure what it is now.

  4. I can't pinpoint the exact the origins of this perniciously infectious means of agreeing with someone else's post and - as you know - I'm not one to wilfully put my head above the parapet, but I'd just like to suggest that it carries with it all the style of catching sight of your uncle dancing at a wedding (with a tie on his head) just at the moment that he raises his eyebrows as far up as they go, puts two thumbs up (at 45 degree angles) and says 'skill' with a gormless expression on his face. Please make it stop. You know who you are.
  5. HELLOO? (*.. elllooo..oo*) WHERE IS THIS PLACE (*...isssplace.. ace..cce..e*) It's dark in here.. and nobody ever reads this section.
  6. I saw something similar last week. An expensive car with blacked-out windows drew-up right outside my house! Anyway, I got in - we exchanged pleasantries and he dropped me round the corner.
  7. They even called the thing 'The Pirate Bay'. I mean.. I'm all for a bit of fun, but seriously..

  9. I think most people understand the intellectual argument behind the 'hey man it's P2P, not our responsibility' thing, but only the most optimistic of believers would have expected a different outcome for a court case against a website where you can rock up and be offered fifty pristine cracked versions of Photoshop in the space of one minute.

  11. Anyway, thank God I got almost everything I needed before it went down.

  13. That's true, they don't steal anything themselves. They just provide an easy way - a one-stop-shop - for everyone else to do the stealing.

  15. I don't have a holier than thou position on this. But then I don't have a workable defence for TPB either, mostly because there isn't one.

  17. I have a clean sheet as far as the law is concerned. Though I did get caught brown-handed stealing a Mars Bar from the local Spar once. But that was way back - when I was mad, bad and dangerous to know.

  19. The reality is that with a speed limit of 30mph, most people will squeeze up to over 35, slowing only to bunch up dangerously when a speed camera hoves into view - then accelerate again. With a limit of 20mph, there's more liklihood of most people staying below 30. Of course all is this is meaningless when the average speed of traffic probably averages no more than 12mph.
  20. I see you in your official capacity now, 'Looch.. escorting threads into the Lounge from the General Issues section.
  21. I'm afraid I don't accept the notion that 'we're not making them like they used to', simply because our current crop of talent hasn't had the opportunity to mature, migrate to radio 4 and become old, sweet national treasures. And Clem wasn't an 'all-rounder'. He had his own particular type of comedy, no more 'all-round' than any of today's younger performers who have their own completely different (and incomparable) styles. It's like comparing Citizen Kane with Pulp Fiction.
  22. I wasn't joking about Russell Brand.. He's a fine example of the top talent we're still producing.
  23. Stopped at customs.. most inconvenient. Did they make you empty your bag?
