  1. That's our Tone. Always speaking of country matters.
  2. WELL what you THINK about it? Do you HAVE an opinion, or are you cimply PRESENTING this particular nugget from a PARTICULAR study and asking for other people's thoughts?

    How much to Gatwick?
  4. MrBen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We're a bunch of soft relatively wealthy namby > just-out-the-pub targets....so what can you do? Well, depending on who you listen to.. 1. Be vigilant when you're out and about, don't be a hero if you get unlucky, and hope the police pick them up soon. 2. Stay and home and hide under a duvet. 3. Buy a gun and blow away anyone who looks at you in a funny way.
  5. Thunderbird ("Chunderbird") Made from Pears.. not that that stopped anyone.
  6. Mrs *Bob* has a tub of this bloody stuff in the fridge. I have to hold my tongue, lest she bring-up overpriced vintage lamps, motorcycles that hardly get used and excessive consumption of pinot noir.
  7. Loving those YouTube comments on the clip. "goodtimes0000" writes : "i don't like this guy, or his operation."
  8. . The stuff of nightmares.
  9. Over to you, Dom.
  10. Couldn't we relax the guns laws in the UK, thus raising gun crime by 900%, and then allow the carrying of concealed weapons so as to see the benefit of the 5% improvement? Just thinking outside the box on this one.
  11. The plaice was in uproar. I codn't believe my eyes. Whelk I can only hope they catch the basstard and eel get salmoned before a magistrate in due coarse.
  12. I'll try it again. Christ Almighty.. this is harder than doing the porridge.
  13. I'm on 'The Leopard' (as my Mum calls it)
  14. It's exactly as it was before I had a go at changing it. WPA and WEP are both inactive The password is the same for both and is 350B014100.. same as it was. WEP is set to 'hexadecimal'.
  15. RIGHT So I tried that.. put a new password in. Then it wouldn't let me back in with my new password. So I turned the router off, and (after disconnecting and connecting a few times) I got the internerd back again, but the router had reset itself to no security again. I'm on Mac (can't you tell?!) Any more thoughts? Help to-date is most appreciated.. Bet you wish you'd never brought it up now, eh?
  16. Ok, tekkies.. I'm looking at this: what do I do now? (Please let me know if posting this picture inadvertently exposes me to on onslaught of cyber-crime leaving me a broken man - so I can remove it)
  17. The blokes that do the late-night baskets of things I don't want seem to get increasingly arsey with each visit. The bloke I got last time was verging on 'lightly menacing'.. Feels like they ramp it up a bit even if you don't buy, so maybe you will next time you'll buy to avoid the bad vibes.
  18. That is true, but what else is there to say? I'm sure everybody's sorry to hear it happened, will be a bit more wary and most appreciate the warning etc - but we're four pages in now. The truth is that without the inevitable plunge in to postcodes/peckham/class war/organic onions - these threads would drop off the board in half a day, instead of attracting four thousand views and staying at the top.
  19. I know, I know. I've been meaning to sort it out. It's on the list, sandwiched between repainting the front door and pruning the bush which is pushing the fence over. If only some kindly soul would provide a how-to.. we could all sleep safe in our beds..
  20. Mine's unsecured as well, of course. Securing it would seem, well, a bit rude? Anyway it's nice to have a choice of unsecured networks when you fire up the lappie.
  21. May ED has 'better surrounding areas' than Peckham. Although that would, erm, include Peckham.
  22. Most of the above isn't in ED, of course.
  23. I can reach four unsecured open networks from my back garden. Let me know what you're after and jobsagoodun.
  24. An unwillingness to disclose that the assailants were (possibly) black is matched (in some quarters) by an expectation that they are.
  25. Well me too (not very often, no harm done etc) but what we got was a more civilised, modernised and more carefully applied version of what my parents got. ie Dad getting strapped by Grandad for something inconsequential became me occasionally getting a spanking for something I probably deserved. However, I'll be following a yet more civilised, modernised and carefully applied version.. the one where you don't ever need to hit your kids to get a message across. Just doing what your parents did because it was good enough at the time is nonsense. I mean, I used to enjoy Angel Delight in 1979 but I think there are better options available in 2009.
