  1. Long time no see. How have your chakras been?

'Some' years back, I went to a dirty rave 'in support of a free Tibet' (because as I'm sure you know already, the best way to fight for Tibet's right to self-determination in those days was to munch large quantities of ecstasy tablets and spend 16 hours throwing shapes in front of stolen road works lanterns and talking absolute bollocks to people with luminous mystical symbols drawn on their faces). The flyers were printed and distributed. If only someone had told the person responsible for them that 'Lama' only has on 'L'.
  3. Haven't really had much time to watch G***** yet really. Has anyone trawled through iPlayer yet? (so I don't have to). Highlights? Recommendations? Hot Chip, Fat White Family.. Lionel obvs .. who else is worth watching?
  4. Not quite 80's - but went to Reading once - in '90 I think it was. Didn't like the vibe much. Very laddish / beer oriented. All a bit nuts-and-bolts, not enough weird stuff. Terrible choice of fonts..
  5. These days it's a nicey-festival for mostly nicey-people (who can afford it obvs - though I don't think the tickets are really mad-expensive in all honesty). I'd go back and actually see some bands next time. That said, I wouldn't trade the (hazy) memories of the final few years of utter carnage for anything though. As close to Mad Max as I think you'd ever be likely to get, with the pros and cons of that. Loved it though. In short, I'm glad I saw the old one but I'll be preferring my kid and their friends to go to the new incarnation thanks all the same.

As explained a short while back, I was mistaken. I mis-read the thread, then said so. There's no need get all fired-up like I've just shat on your doorstep and then start making up guff. Not necessary.

no there wasn't But I admire nonetheless your spirited by daft attempt to start a fire without any fuel.

I don't think I've ever suggested (for example) cutting Louisa's breasts off with a rusty saw because she doesn't like Marks and Spencer? No. So I think I'm ok.

Seems I am absolutely the last person to, umm, not read the thread properly. As you were!

Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- 'Absolute gold'? You reckon? Low standards, I guess, Loz. They're piss-poor. Cringeworthy. The second one doesn't even make any sense, no matter how many times you read it. Never ceases to amaze me - the level of basic misogyny meted-out to largely harmless female targets who stick dare to their head above the parapet. Doesn't matter if they're ugly, stunning, razor sharp, a bit dim, have a doctorate or one CSE, common as muck or dead posh, written fifty books or one the first one.. one things's for sure: there will always be a load of arseholes lining-up to tell them to get back in their box, love.
  12. They measured the stage and then measured Kanye's ego and came to the conclusion there wasn't room for anyone else.
  13. Ah well that's that then. I'm ready to return to the fold and give it another go in person next time I think. My period of mourning for The Old Festival is over.. take it for what it is now and (weather permitting) it still looks like a fine way to spend a weekend.
  14. Know what you mean, Kid. I pushed Mark from the fourth year into a bed of stinging nettles at primary and, er.. No, actually I don't think it's the same.
  15. Where's this place again? Do you need to reserve a cue or do you just turn up?
  16. In short, everybody wants the nodal point just to the left of their blue bin. That's just not going to be possible.
  17. There was a posse up at the school today talking nodal points ('nodal point'.. a phrase set to become the 'new weapons of mass destruction') and how it had been moved to X but we should press for it to be more back around around Y which would give people at that school more of a chance - so I raised my fist in the air and joined in the chant: 'One, Two, Three Four - Nodal where it was before'. It was brilliant - we all hugged each other and I went home feeling totally empowered. Unfortunately, when I got home and hit Google Maps I realised those people must all have been from the 'other' side of the school and in fact nodal point X is closer. Naturally, these people are now my bitter enemies.
  18. For many years I grew-up assuming fish were trapezoid in shape. There's was one on Streatham High Road last time I looked. Do they still served their food on real plates and the like?
  19. You can't blame a lot of people for being disappointed. The language has always been 'New School East Dulwich'. And then somehow conflated to 'New School For East Dulwich.' Too much assumption, not enough reading of the the actual submission - which as mentioned above - has always been what it's been. East Dulwich could do with new train station too - the current one's in the wrong place as well.
  20. There's no need to talk about Louisa like that. You know full well she's not allowed in here to defend herself. And please stay on topic.
  21. .. and generally reeking of once-delicious beers
  22. Great to have not one but two local speciality bottle shops. Now if only some easy / reliable means of delivery could be mustered for those of us who buy, er, in bulk..

  24. I don't think piss is truly offensive. Arse is borderline, really.
