  1. Like upping the tax on fags, the price rises are meaningless. Regardless, people will still be moaning about spending a whole couple of quid on a decent item of food (required for sustaining life) whilst thinking nothing about getting no change ?20 buying a round of alcoholic drinks (which just get pissed up a wall - sometimes literally, unfortunately.. where are those street wardens when you need them?)
  2. Really, there's no need to apologise, tread lightly or tippy-toe round. C'est la vie. C'est la mort.
  3. Some rather bizarre analogies floating around here ha ha. My fave so far: "I do not hold a flag for harold shipman". More often than not, I would say the higher the level of 'humanist bravado' (or whatever you want to call it) - the greater the level of personal experience - and the more matter-of-fact. There's nothing like you Mum calling for a chat about the preparations for Christmas this year, and musing in a humdrum and lighthearted fashion about the best way to go if need be. "I'm wondering if the lethal overdose of barbs will be ok on its own or if I should use a plastic bag secured with a rubber band as well? Anyway, we'll be there on Christmas Eve as usual, so we'll see you when we see you".
  4. Yes.. you'd better watch out. Keep a look out for me: Four foor six, eye patch and a monocle, walking with a limp, sporting mild Tourettes and a Netto bag.
  5. Thats what they call me. 'Creepy *Bob*'
  6. I've printed out (from Flickr) pictures of all the faces from the Forum drink sessions and have stuck them to my fridge. Every time I see one I cross it off. It's like Top Trumps.. Got.. got.. need.. need..
  7. I strongly resent that, Peckhamgatecrasher - they weren't hard-earned.
  8. What's a cooperate event, Keef? And hoo doo I goo aboot ooganising one?

  10. You're joking, aren't you Mutters? Theys all livin of the bennifitt and watchin Trisha all day. And it's old Muggins ere whats got to carry the can. If my Grandad were alive today he'd shoot the lot of them.
  11. I pledge allegiance to Keef and to the CPT. May his pint glass remain forever filled; May he shuffle around in the freezing cold whilst puffing on a tab; May he dread that phone call from 'er indoors, calling him home to a congealed supper and a rolling pin. To Mockney's beard also, may it wax and wane - through good times and bad. In these things I do thusly pledge henceforthly. Amen.

I don't know what to say now, so agreeing to disagree is probably the only option.

  14. First choice was Cat Deeley, but I think she's unavailable - so I think it's going to be Vernon Kay instead.
  15. (From memory) Peckhamgatecrasher is religious.. hence.. Correct me if I'm wrong, PGC!
  16. Not wanting to press the point but.. You may wish to pretend that the medical profession are sworn to this or that and boil 'assisted dying' down to what's allowed and what isn't allowed by law.. to which end I'm sure the legals minds knocking about on't forum will be glad to advise. But, like it or not, there is something of a gulf between what might be a legal no-no, and what actually goes on. And it does go on. Let's hope that you (or yours) never have to find out.
  17. Not exactly. Not in a 'mass murder total nutter kind of way'. More in a 'these are the pills, this is recommended dosage but if you feel more are required kind-of way'

Ask you local GP, or terminal illness care special ist. Not that they'll admit it, of course.
  20. Perhaps, ????. But consider this.. no Catholicism, no Father Ted.

  22. To put it into perspective, we've had (so far) 3000+ viewings and 7 pages of postings on the dropping of a cigar butt outside Somerfield. So personally I would hope there ought to be a little more mileage in discussing the tenureship of someone who changed the face of Britain forever.
  23. I don't want to piss on anyone's chips here, fellow debaters, but Mrs Thatch never said "there is no such thing as community".

  25. Losing both wing mirrors in a light spill is unusual. So in such circumstances, stealing both from a fellow two-wheeler would just be plain greedy.
