  1. Unfortunately for The Zenorians (*evil echoey laughter*) I think 99.94% of the rest of SE22 is looking forward to 'The Warehouse'..
  2. Rules is rules, Keef. Velma does not qualify. You might as well go as a teapot.
  3. Is Velma out of Scooby Doo technically a superhero?
  4. Just to infuriate the Zenorians. 'The Zenorians'. I like that.
  5. That's a puzzler. There are lesser-known superhero/villains (eg a number of 'witches' and the like). They ten to wear the usual revealing costume but the addition of a cape would be an asset by the sounds of it (no offence, like). And you'd get the chance to exhume your old Goth wardrobe. Unfortunately, 98% of people won't have the faintest idea who you are and you'll have to explain yourself all night long. A easy get-out (and easy outfit) would be to go as Dr Jean Grey - in her X-Men screen outing - who is dressed as a doctor (because, er, she is one)
  6. Let's hear from Eddie. Eddie?
  7. Did they pick a terrible time to start in ED? Their books are filled with properties so that's them already 'established'. The slow market means they won't sell as many of their 0% properties before the time limit expires and thereby lose-out on the commission.
  8. Excellent question. Do you speak as a concerned vendor currently using Foxtons (or 'other').. or as a soon-to-be vendor, or as an estate agent?

In South > Africa, Red is used, in Iran, Blue. That's what I mean. The colour of mourning might be lime green with orange spots and a tartan cape in some place or other. What it's all really about is fitting-in and conforming with the norms of a particular society.
  10. The local news channels have officially just pooed their pants with excitement. At last - a London story which won't get pinched by network news and ruin all their fun.
  11. The 'respect' thing is interesting. Why do people wear black at funerals? When you attend your first funeral, you're told (as a response to your infantile questioning) that you wear it as a mark of respect. But the truth is that you wear black because that's what everyone else will be wearing, because you don't want to stick-out like a sore thumb and because you don't want people glaring at tutting at you.
  12. The freedom to carry-on playing rugby if you want to?
  13. I was once driving down a fairly busy road at the time of 'the silence'. A car (a few cars up from where I was) just stopped in the road and the bloke got out and stood motionless by his car. Needless to say not everyone in the queue behind was entirely understanding - or possibly even knew the reason for his stopping.
  14. I'm not sure if 'Efficient' and 'Forest Hill Road Co-Op' ought to be in the same sentence.
  15. He's new. He wears spectacles. He smiles. He speaks. Hurrah!
  16. I remember watching 'The World at War' at teatime on Sundays when we visited the G-parents. That did the trick for me.
  17. Now you're talking. Snap it up - before someone else gets in there.
  18. We have a Victorian house.. everything in it is a mix of 30's right up to brand new. I think we got nearly half of our stuff from Holland or not far from it. All the lamps and lighting bar one or two - vintage dutch/swiss lamps are the bizniz. We have bought some heavier stuff here.. it always costs more.. but there's only so many months you can spend without any furniture looking up at bare bulbs a-dangling from the ceiling (so I'm / so I was told) Some people are collecting G-Plan, for sure. I don't like it myself.
  19. I love this one..
  20. G-Plan belongs in the bin. It's just plain repulsive. But the vintage 'revival' has got second-hand furniture sellers rummaging in skips for any old tat - good luck to them. Most of the good vintage stuff originates from the continent, so there's a shortage of stock over here. So a lot of it is pants, and the better pieces are marked-up big time. You can buy stuff from the numerous and well-stocked European (especially Dutch) websites. Buy a load in one go and get it shipped over in a van. Or drive a van to Holland and get shopping. You'll get some great, stylish stuff and you'll get it for less as well.
  21. 1. I think we should stop all the LL traders from parking in any of the side streets.. it seems fair. Same rule for everyone. 2. Anyone who can't show this month's copy of SE22 'magazine' should be made to park in an underground lot in Catford and walk over hot coals to get to these hallowed streets. 3. Seal off the channel tunnel.
  22. Know it?! Where do you think I developed my interest / skills?

    British teeth

I think if you were to compare the teeth of Americans who can't afford medical insurance (rather than the wealthy tourists who visit here) with those of people over here who can't afford private treatment and don't have access to NHS surgeries (ie almost everyone) - the teeth would look pretty-much the same.

This is what the 'pop business' is - and always has been. I like pop. I enjoy it for what it is and don't confuse it with real, chinstrokey music (which I like as well).
