However, a one-bedder there is coming in at ?74,930. So anyone who feels aggrieved at me exercising my right to buy in their hometown is more than welcome to exercise theirs in mine.
  2. I mean.. My home town was a shit place to live when I was 18. So I left. But maybe it's really nice now.. perhaps I should pop back and demand my right to buy - in the best part of town, of course.
  3. Did everybody demand the 'right to buy' in ED when it wasn't such a nice place to live? Or did the ones that could afford it move away to more desirable postcodes?

  5. If there are ten million people in the UK who play football and one million people who play rugby, then surely it's ten times easier/less difficult to become a top rugby player than it is to become a top footballer. Isn't it? Which doesn't mean they're all communal shower-loving, arse-feeling, thigh-slapping, wet towel-flicking posho-types.. it's just a statistical fact, innit?
  6. Ditto tennis and 'Tiger Tim' (snigger)

Invest in some good stuff.. a pan here and a pan there as and when you can afford it, and use it for the rest of your life.

  9. One of my friends pisses in his own garden - it keeps the foxes out, apparently. Perhaps it would work for cats as well.
  10. Colin Charvis of Wales trod on my head when I was but a lad. My rugby claim to fame.
  11. RE mice.. I can highly recommend a hearty dose of poison. Kill them. Kill them all.
  12. Ahh... Myxomatosis. Subject of The World's Worst Rabbit-Related Joke (see link.. and note the response of 'Astroman' http://stargazerslounge.com/index.php?topic=6672.30;wap2
  13. If one really wanted to take a stand, one could pop into the neighbours' front garden of a morning, drop ones kegs and curl one down in their herbaceous border. That ought to drive the point home.

Pepper corns? Freshly milled?

We are currently 'road testing' Lion Poo Pellets (can't remember who recommended them - someone on here who was 'in the know')
  16. There's only one thing worse than CATS wreaking havoc wherever they ROAM and that's BIRDS - tweeting and singing and ruining my DAY. Not to mention RAINBOWS.. oooh, don't get me started on them.. irritating, colourful little BLEEDERS.
  17. Dom, by the time I've worked out what that all means, I'll have been burnt to a crisp.

    Phishing

I've had a couple of EuroLottery-type win-confirmations by email. But yes, I've also had one from the postie addressed to me personally. It was such a bad photocopy I could barely read some of it. But as you say, there must be victims aplenty out there. Viagra emails have subsided a little now.. replaced by this sort of thing: Good day chas Ooze confidence in every situation with your bigger and better penis Rocky Gigstad Nice use of the word 'ooze', I thought.

I won the Spanish Lottery (again!!) last week. So it looks like I will be able to buy Chav her rural retreat after all.
  20. Polly.. sorry for goonish unsensitive post. Communal area security is often problematic and therefore neglected: flat A wants a buzz-in system, flat B is too tight to contribute to the cost, flat C has a deathly fear of being deadlocked inside a burning building and not being able to find the key, flat D doesn't want to come down three flights of stairs to open the door.. been there! Glad to hear the DL is in place.
  21. Maurice.. I have an idea. Why don't you organise a forum party? A masqued ball, set amidst the Georgian finery of your lovingly restored home. At midnight we can all whip off our masks and do the hokey cokey.. or something.
  22. The system encourages fraud - especially in the honest. I started-out as an honest claimant, but by the end of it I was a complete crook. And it was their fault, not mine.
  23. We've all seen the episode of Wife Swap where the chinless wonder woman and her limp husband trade with Lizzy 'The Beard' Bardsley - and Mrs Chinless sees how much benefit they get and is outraged, yeah? DOLE SCUM! Well there are a few headlinetastic cases of Ms Wotsit and her 18 kids who get get a four bedroomed house for nowt and ?60k a year in her back skyrocket. But they live like shit and if you think they're 'appy, think again. As for me, I was on 'income support' which worked out to around ?33/week. I tried spending it all on booze, drugs, fags, gambling and a big TV (like the papers tell us THEY do) - but (surprise!) I found that with food, clothes, travel, electricity, gas etc etc etc to account for as well - it didn't really stretch too far.
  24. Everyone gets CB if they have a C.
  25. I spent a good couple of years on the old rock and roll. Had a fine time. Thanks, everyone!
