  1. I knew somebody who moved to Peckham several years back. We lost touch.. met up again recently. He's not in Peckham any more though apparently.. he's "in Nunhead Village', actually."
  2. When I'm looking for a recommendation, I look for those made by forum veterans... I'm sure most other people on here do as well.
  3. It's better than I thought it would be. Much nicer than the new-build monstrosity on (I think) Underhill Road.
  4. I've got plenty of postings under my belt. If any business out there wants to slip me a tenner, I'll be sure to post a glowing recommendation.
  5. Are you asking Mark out on a date?!
  6. I'll have an 'animosity and vitriol' sandwich. But hold the mayo. Thanks.
  7. Menu looks good. Prices look good. Looking forward to visiting mmmmmmmm
  8. Indeed, Jeremy. I think most people go to M-star restaurants 'as a treat' and so order all the trimmings (aperatif, cheeseboard, digestif, wine galore). It need not be so. Order modestly.. and go twice! (Err... That said, I think we coughed-up over ?175 in CB's last time)
  9. What is this.. the Knitpickers Ball?! Ok.. so for 'around ?50', you can have a good feed and share a nice bottle of wine at a restaurant with a Michelin star. Everybody happy?
  10. Though from what I read it won't be too long before The Rosendale has a star all of its very own.
  11. Chez Bruce. Michelin starred: ?36 for 3 courses.
  12. Don't spoil that golden image of what it would have been like by going the second / third time around.
  13. You'd have to sling a lot of mud to put people off the carrot of a 0% fee. Greed / financial common sense will out.
  14. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The Coriander sucks, and so does Surma! B..b..but Jeremy.. the Surma won BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT - as voted for by the good users of this forum, did it not?!
  15. I imagine it would be like watching 'The young Ones' again.. one of those things which broke the mould but didn't age that well.
  16. Does anyone know if "Bourgeois Mongoose" are likely to reform?
  17. The Mirch in Tooting offers formica tables, toilet cubicles with a mop and bucket standing in the corner - and the aforementioned poor service. But who cares when the food is so good? Not me. I hope they haven't smartened it up as you say they have at the Norbury Mirch, Dave. I shall report back tomorrow morning ha ha.
  18. Your average ED're is going to lap-up the BBC. They put a tomato and some caramelised onions on top of the pilau rice - A touch of class and well-worth the extra pound., I'm sure you'll agree.
  19. There isn't anywhere. Ganapati (not even in ED) is the nearest thing worth bothering with, and they don't deliver (yet) - and they're expensive. But then that's what happens when there's no competition. Coincidentally, we're off to the Mirch in Tooting (again) tonight. Terrible service. Fantastic food. Just the ticket.

  21. I have had the pleasure of a 'Bombay Bicycle Club' curry. Some of our friends in Balham we droning on about it and finally forced one upon me. Needless to say the next time I was at their place I made sure they ordered some proper Indian / Pakistani food - for half the price. No more BBC for them after that. There's nothing wrong with it. But it's still your typical English Curry fare. I'm sure they'll do very well here - just like all the others, inexplicably.
  22. Great.. another mediocre curry house for those that don't know better - to go with the other 25 on LL.
  23. Don't tell me, louisa - you'll be 'accidentally' leotarded-up and doing your Rosemary Conley workout when I'm doing the bedroom?
  24. He'll be in Islington by now - on the hunt for more mugs.
  25. But don't you wanna know what love is? I know I do.
