Edward Snowden Spotted in East Dulwich
HonaloochieB replied to EStorrier's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have far more self-esteem than I actually warrant but I couldn't give more than a very generous 2.5/10 for that contribution and that's mainly for the ED-ward part, facts have to be faced, the rest is pish. So, the day job awaits in the morning. But that's fine with me, let's be real, Pickettywitch won't pay tribute to themselves now, will they? And NO! I'll not hear a word to the contrary. -

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was ED-ward bound, but he needs to be quick, 's'now Denmark Hill is a safe spot, but that won't always be the case. I await BlueEyes review. -

Any idea how much a Level 42 short B/side and a pint of Directors might run to? -

In the loveliest possible way I read/heard these posts as SteveO as a mildly guttered, expansive Stephen Fry (to the point where you could call him 'Steve') and Jah Lush as a sober Keith Richards where he uses his 'English' voice'. Glad you had a good time.

Peckhamrye Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The new Beer and BBQ restaurant Flying Pig are > moving in. Have to say I reckon you're 'oinking' in the direction of the wrong trough with this, Peckhamrye. Having researched it extensively I can't for the life of me see why the Flying Pig would think it would thrive in ED. It's got a fine secret BBQ recipe and a good perky outlook porkwise, but I just don't reckon it'll fit in hereabouts. I've checked its policy regarding children and it's roughly (very) "sub-10s or thereabouts permitted, under sufferance and a strict Elbow endorsed 'Seldom Seen Kid' and an even stricter John Cage '4 minutes 33 seconds' - EXTENDED REMIX ALL NITE 'N' DAY LONG tune-based policy towards the young 'uns. Just don't see 'em thriving in SE22.

I know where I would sooner eat. Right with you Woodie, in betwixt the two, and it falls twixt 'em is Rock Steady Eddies Camberwell caff, that'd be the spot. Though I've not been there for a two-stretch or thereabouts (The reason? I recall a cold wintry interlude, a faulty door which allowed gusty ingress and my Dobie Gray-like propensity for drifting away). However I'll renew my acquaintance with Sol et al and let you know if the double sausage, double egg and chips is still as plentiful and qualitous as I was accustomed to, the tea as teeth-coating tanniny as before and the bottled Fanta the few degrees above room temperature it needs to be to accompany the scran while the builders' cools a little. If not tomorrow then Friday. Stand on me. 'Johnny-on-the-spot'

Over 60% of his/her posts show a gift for trenchant observation concerning the local scene and pinpoint satire about some building with old stuff in it. I reckon Dd's gotten all hyperbolic 'cause of too much coffee and will appreciate the irony of the caffine (sic) theme park notion when the jitters subside.

Oh, I think I remember Moos, you were all... And everyone else was like... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=sL4pA1aZpi8 It couldn't have been eggier, if there was a coop full of chickens involved.

Huzzah, the more Moos's in the manor, the better the manor be. I'm sure the late Fat Lady once said that. If she didn't I bet she jolly well held a similar sentiment.

Comedy club with UncleBen and Woodrot on permanent contracts. Be good to your waitresses, they'll be there all weak. -
Crazy - Patsy Cline Here's a thing, how about for the next 24 hours, so 'til 11:15 on 18/6/2013 all of the song titles have to have the word 'crazy' in them. I don't know why, just call me zany.

So how about Butch > Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? Ah well Alan M it was after all around half ten on a Saturday night, so perfectly understandable, good call with BC & TSK. I'll add what is really a companiion piece The Sting, I can't be bothered to see whether anyone's posted that one before, 'cause it's Monday , eleven at night and I'm three quarters lit up on draught Aspall and Perroni an' tomorrow's a school day. Will I never learn?

There's no one more everyone than me and I reckon Dannys Baker & Kelly, Sean Lock, Alison Moyet, Jason Statham (when he's not an American), June Brown (more as herself, but but I'll 'low Dot Cotton), Jonathon + Paul Ross, Ray & Jaime Winston, Michael Caine (think Harry Brown), Robert Elms, Suggs and Eliza Doolittle have the most Londonly, smart and if you want 'cool' speaking voices. Also, cause they make some effort, Evan Davis and John Humphries who frequently employ the word 'gonna' and inform the listener that we/she/he should "get" some weather/sport, oh, that transatlantic crossover, pure NYLON so it is. And if Sarah Anne Loiuse Montague could be persuaded to chuff a Disque Bleu or two a day and take a little tuition from Jessie Wallace, then I would have no objection. I'd also probably never leave the house before nine in the morning, -

But while I'm about it The Ladykillers - Mrs Lopsided getting the better of the gang. Midnight Run. Just a touch here but there's loads more good stuff. OLIVER! - It's got everything sex, violence and great songs. I don't do karaoke but if ever I'm simultaneously drunk enough to do so and possessed of total recall and reasonable pitch and whatever else singers require, then put me down for 'As Long As He Needs Me' and 'Oom Pah Pah'. I'll do others but I'm keen on Nancy's. Goodfellas - just a great story and I love the scene where Michael Jackson's former manager takes part in 'whacking' Tommy. Kind Hearts And Coronets - the 'twist' never gets old for me. The Sound Of Music / Chitty Chitty Bang Bang / Mary Poppins - Nuns and Nazis, a flying car and musical confectionary, a magic nanny and a terrible banker +++ GREAT SONGS! No disrespect to Sally Ann Howes, who certainly made a decent enough fist of it but I think everyone would have preferred Julie Andrews as 'Truly' in CCBB. Fact.

It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World. This is just part of why I love it. But there's so much more. Go buy the filum in what ever form and take advantage and the advice of the Intermission. No, do.
