  1. I will be voting to stay, for the sake of my children and the peace of Europe. Have no time for the "Outers" like George Galloway.

  4. BHF collected a sofa (and lots of other bits) last week - very good and helpful, but as the last poster says, you need a fire label - their website shows you where to find this. https://www.bhf.org.uk/shop/donating-goods/book-a-free-furniture-collection
  5. I think it's TFL not Southwark who are responsible for that roundabout etc.
  6. "road tax"?? Roads are paid for out of general taxation. What used to be road tax is now a pollution tax. Many vehicles pay no tax at all, if they don't pollute - electric cars, cycles etc.

Where do tradespeople, delivery vans or > friends park when they visit? Well I have a dropped curve and parking on my drive, and random tradespeople are ALWAYS parking in front of my drive. I guess if they feel they've got to deliver something, or are too lazy to walk ten meters or whatever, then they'll do that. If I need access I have to ask the buggers to move.
  9. There are grammars in Sutton that you can apply for - Wallington and Nonsuch are the girls' schools I believe. Not too hard by train - I think from Forest Hill. Those two are in theory easier to get into than Newstead. Bexley has grammars too but less easily accessible by train, including Chiselhust and Sidcup GS - co-ed.
  10. Combine Harvester (Brand New Key) - Wurzels
  11. gas leak on Crystal Palace park Road near Penge West station bridge. Road will be closed until Monday they say.
  12. bara brith is obtainable in Wales...I bought a lovely loaf a year ago in Anglesey
  13. My 3 went to Alleyn's - the youngest went there from 5-18 and they loved it. Take no notice of the celeb culture (whatever that means) the school is really caring as are the children. There's loads on offer in both parts of the school. High academic standards but there's plenty of help if you're not top of the heap.
  14. Acid rain was sorted years ago following the Montreal Protocol in (I think) 1986
  15. I've upgraded to W10 and it was a breeze! Files all intact, and I like it very much.

  23. Otta, you DO have to apply - for one, you have to send in your photo! Alice, yes but you have to pay (only ?20 a year though!) for the over 60s Oyster until you qualify for Freedom Pass at 66 or whatever the age is now.
