  1. Hysterical, I have to say I've never opened a thread quicker than this one - great title :)
  2. It's 9.30 weigh in however I find with kids it's easier to get there early and queue before rather than queuing to weigh - if that makes sense. I'll be there straight after dropping my son off so just after 9 Well done u
  3. I'm currently downloading like mad :) Monsters inc, Robin Hood - think he'll love Thanks so much everyone
  4. I wonder if anyone can help me. I have downloaded some films from the net onto my iTunes however although i've deleted all my music and quite a few of my apps from my iPad 1 it doesn't seem to hold many films. Is there any way of compressing these film files so that my iPad can hold more? Many thanks in advance
  5. I'm wanting to download some films to keep my children entertained on a long haul flight we're about to go on. I have a 4 1/2 yr old boy and 2 1/2 yr old girl. He loves pirates, knights (not fussed about cars of animals really). She likes anything he likes :) I've also downloaded some Peppa Pig and Fireman Sam for her. He loves Toy Story, Winnie the Pooh, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan. Any others that people can recommend?
  6. Sorry, just seen the other thread. Ignore this one :)
  7. I've just seen this article http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/local_southwark/1383361-Help-us-save-the-Crystal-Palace-One-OClock-Club I'm 34 and my mum used to take my brothers and me to it many moons ago. It would be dreadful if it closed. I absolutely love that place
  8. I go to WW weigh in on a Wed am at Church at top of Barry Road. I take my 2 yr old daughter and she's quite happy running around and generally flirting with everyone. I started on 20 Sept and have lost 2 stone 5 lbs to date. I think WW rocks as I still drink, eat carbs etc but as i count my points it's all about portions (no brainer really but i couldn't do it on my own). I also count everything on my iPhone so it's very very easy. With regards to exercise I love the 30 Day Shed by Jillian ?? (it's only a 20 minute work out but my god it kills and does the job i think even better than any of the hr long videos out there. I can't recommend it high enough. I've done a few fad diets in the past but have always put the weight back on so that's why I'm loving WW cos i really can see myself living like this forever as I don't feel i'm missing out. Good luck
  9. I'm a huge Ocado fan (having tried Sainsbury's who just failed on so many accounts). I use Ocado for perishables etc and I now use ASDA for cleaning stuff etc as they are a lot cheaper.
  10. Thank you all so much Hazelnunhead - so lovely hearing how passionate you are about your home town - wonderful. i'm now ultra ultra excited and definitely wouldn't' have thought of taking a train to see the penguins but now think that's a must - our 2 will much prefer this than being stuck in the car yet again :) why did u decide not to do the cable car - if you don't mind me asking? is it scary for that age group? Would love to hear your recommended car hire recommendation. We r flying with BA and therefore they are offering us to take our car seats for free - is this worth it or do your car hire place provide adequate car seats for kids (i've heard differing views) so so excited :)
  11. Thanks so much for all this advice. Keep it coming
  12. Hi everyone We are off to South Africa in Febuary for 2 weeks with our 4 and 2 year olds. We have accommodation sorted in Camps Bay just outside CT for the first week and Franshhoek for the 2nd week. We are huge beach/swimming fans so thinking in CT we'll do lots of that and obviously in Franshhoek there'll be wine tasting. What else would people recommend for children of that age. We are thinking Boulders Beach for the penguins and cable car up to Table Mountain. Any other advice on activities, restaurants etc would be muchly appreciated. Thanks and Happy New Year
  13. Done. Good luck
  14. My son is at Dulwich Prep. Nursery at the moment and I couldn't be more positive about it. He loves it and the teachers are just wonderful. On Friday it was pyjama day and all the kids AND teachers spent the day in the pi's!!!! I'm very very happy with it and I've only heard positives from the other parents in the playground. Good luck with your decision
  15. I also used Toby and he was fab with my 4 year old and 20 mates
  16. ha ha ha, that made me laugh i'm not sure about east dulwich i'm afraid but i order my substantials from figleaves and they normally deliver pretty sharpish good luck
  17. Another good game is to choose a letter and then all week get your little one to find objects around the home, park, nursery/school that begin with the letter. Once they've got the hang of it it's great to play ISpy - keeps it fun as well :)
  18. My views are you can't train for nighttimes as it's something to do with the brain sending messages and they'll do it when they're ready. My 4 yr old boy - about a week before his 4th bday he told me that he was a big boy and didn't want to wear a nappy so we agreed that we would give it a ago but if he had a wee it wouldn't be very nice so probably best to go back to nappies which he was fine about. That was 3 months ago and fingers crossed no accidents and we don't lift him. He was just ready. If we had tried before i know it would have ended in lots of accidents as his nappy was always wet. Good luck with your decision
  19. Thanks ad2000 I've clicked on your link and searched but can't find what you were talking about. can u point me in the right direction? Thanks
  20. For playmobil we use a toolbox - same use as Etta with regards to the little compartments and then large section beneath and so far so good but being only just 4 we don't have a huge amount. With regards to lego - i've got no idea. At the moment he's got loads of loose stuff kept in big storage box and then all the smaller sets are kept separately but that's cos i'm doing them with him at the moment so i'm able to keep them separate however what happens when he gets to the stage when he can do it all himself, i don't think there's a hope in hell of keeping all the bits separately. Any solutions on a postcard please :)
  21. hysterical - love it :)
  22. Beckenham spa and crystal palace do Sat lessons but quite difficult to get onto I think for most pools it's when the kids r 3 when they go in without the parent. Good luck with ur search
  23. Buy some goggles and practice in the bath. Play games like hunting for treasure and he collects at bottom of bath. U get in there with him also. Blow lots of bubbles. I agree about not rushing it and pls don't compare to other children. He needs to like water first and that's why the bath is the perfect place to learn. Goggles were the turning point for us Good luck
  24. Top top - buy snorkel and mask and get them to hold mask over eyes (better than swimming goggles) and then u can wash their hair and let water over their faces without them freaking it's in their eyes. :) I bath them about 5x a wk. Not set night when I don't just when I'm tired and can't be bothered :)
