  1. This is great thanks. I'll feed back to her and as soon as she has prices and details i'll let u all know. If anyone already has this done how much r u charged for lets say 10 shirts? duvet, sheet and 4 pillow cases? Any info muchly appreciated. Thanks
  2. A friend of mine is a SAHM however is wanting to earn a bit of money but doesn't want it to take her away from the kids. She likes ironing!!!! and knows of quite a few people who send their clothes out to be ironed. So, she has asked me to post the question - is this a service that people use or know of people who use and is there anything in particular that you like about it? - ie for me it's the picking up and dropping off that i love. Any help would be muchly appreciated. Thanks on behalf of my friend Sally
  3. OMG that's hysterical, are there people out there who would really buy that? wow love the fact that yours is assembled as I can imagine buying one and it staying in the garden in a pile for a few years before we get around to building it. did it cost extra to be built? thanks
  4. I really want to buy a wooden wendy house as a joint bday present for my kids. I've just spent the last few hours with my mouth wide open with what is on offer - oh my god i wish i was still a kid!!! So, could i just go down the garden shed option or are they just not very child friendly? i've noticed on a few wendy house sites that they don't have locks but instead magnets so no one can get locked in and also i'm thinking maybe it's easy to get splinters with sheds???? If i do go down the wendy house option does anyone know of a good website? OR if anyone is thinking of getting rid of theirs just shout. Thanks Sally
  5. I agree that you should keep him in there for as long as possible and definitely wait until he can discuss why he doesn't get out of bed etc. I've also heard that you should never do major things 2 months before a baby arrives and 2 months after - ie move to bed, potty train etc. There was a 2 yr gap between mine and we were lucky enough to borrow a cot from a friend that was in her loft awaiting their no.2 - i'm sure if my eldest had heard the baby cry and us get up then he would have been out of his bed in a shot to see what was happening. Show your husband this thread?
  6. I'd also be interested. First year (09) we were quite successful but last year was a total failure so I'm not sure whether we can promise anything yet however I'll keep an eye on this thread for developments but we're interested.
  7. They're gorgeous :) I definitely think doing it as a dress for the girl is a winner - maybe in other colours rather than just pink as I know quite a few mums who avoid pink for their girls? Prices difficult but agree with Zoe about discount for buying more than 1. Maybe ?12 for 1 but ?10/?9 each if you buy more???
  8. I'd also like to recommend Roberts and Denny's who have done our removals but also my brothers and now quite a few friends - they can store furniture as well if you're doing a refurb or have time inbetween selling and buying.
  9. I'm not debating the gorgeousness of being out of London, however I still love ED
  10. So how's it going everyone? I'm 7 days in and doing well. I'm upped my exercise (ie I've started walking everywhere and attempting the gym (once) I've cleared cupboards of ALL baddies (so much so that about 5 mins ago i searched high and low for something bad and the badest thing i found was a small box of raisens (that my kids scoff) - and the joy i had :) I'm absolutely eating my 5 a day - probably more My skin is pretty minging but i'm sure that this always happens and in a matter of weeks it'll be beautiful and smooth (please) Weight loss - very positive Motivation - still very high
  11. This is a shameless plug I'm afraid and I hope admin won't mind - www.cycletta.com My brother used to be the man behind the London Triathlon, Run to the Beat and other such events. He has just branched out on his own and has just launched his first event - Cycletta - along with Victoria Pendleton. It's a woman's only bike ride over 40km on traffic free roads - the southern event is at Whipsnade Park in September. They are trying to get anyone involved - from experienced cyclists who want to do a bit of a time trial on traffic free roads, to commuters to total beginners riding bikes with baskets on the front - it's not very hilly and will be a great family event with lots on for children etc. I'm taking part and just wanted to spread the word www.cycletta.com http://www.facebook.com/cycletta Thanks
  12. Thanks Pickle - as you well know I drank my weight in alcohol last night.... and then some :) Heading off to Sainsburys now to buy my smoothie ingredients Belle - ur list of do's is great, as you say it isn't rocket science however it's so easy to get off the track and struggle to get back on it. I've just been having a look at some of the WW recipes on line - i really think I can get away with given them to Mr Pebbles without thinking that he's on a diet - if that makes sense - they look yummy and doesn't feel like they're diet foods :)
  13. Well day one 3/4 way through and i've been very very well behaved with fruit for munchies and I didn't eat any of the kids lunch or supper - but before you all give me my first pat on my back, we've got friends over for dinner and that means WINE - so fingers crossed i don't have too much so i actually remember that i'm on a diet :) Remble66 - what is flaxseed? i'm loving your smoothie idea so think i need to go shopping tomorrow. Hope you have all done well and are staying as healthy as possible. Have a great weekend
  14. supergolden88 - you can do ww while breastfeeding. from memory they add 10 points for breast feeding mums - this may have changed as i know the points system has changed recently quick and healthy lunches - i'm a soup person for lunch (well i say that, i'm only a soup person when on a diet cos when i'm not on a diet i HATE soup as it only reminds me about dieting!!!) - however it's easy peasy and most of them healthy. the other thing i do is cook a big roast chicken so that i can have cold meat and salad for lunches???
  15. I'm in I've got a lot of weight to lose Did a triathlon last year and lost an enormous amount of weight. Have put it ALL back on due to not training basically since I completed it - oh and EATING LOTS!!! My aim is to do healthy eating through weight watchers - have joined online this morning - and also training to take part in a 40km cycle around Whipsnade Park - www.cycletta.co.uk - it's a woman's only event on closed roads so trying to get the novices to take part - it looks fab and doable Am also going to start training for the 5km Goodrich fun run in Dulwich Park. Come on, we can do it :) Have just had a pint of water after reading Pickle's post
  16. Think must be your ipad cos still working Mum Mob - why has it been banned in Germany?
  17. giggirl - you have actually made me put down my cheese sandwich and put it in bin and instead eat an apple- no joke - my diet starts with avengence NOW cos the thought of going shopping and buying those sort of clothes is very very exciting - and no point in buying them until i'm the weight i want to be and what i can stay at - thank you - very very helpful post
  18. Fabulous, love it, can't believe you've been banned in Germany - :)
  19. littleedf - that's really made me laugh :) that's exactly what i feel - a fast track to fabulousness - however I think understandably my husband knows i'm not cool and it's not going to be a waste of money!!! good luck with your persuasion... for the shopping of course :)
  20. Before I got married my mother bought me a session to get my colours done - when someone basically tells you what colours suit you and what doesn't. I had always poo poo'd it however it was spot on, you put pastel colours by me and i look drawn and older and you put browns and oranges and i come alive... anyway this fabulous woman also does a session where she meets with you and discusses your figure, what you need in your wardrobe etc etc and then she'll go out and fine everything that you need adn then you go shopping with her at a later date where she has put everything aside that suits you and you get to try on without having the hassle of the hunting!!! Anyway, my husband has actually bought me this amazing service as my xmas present and so now i'm trying to diet (not sucessfully at present) to get to goal weight and my treat will be to have this help with my wardrobe. I totally understand that some people will feel this is a waste of money however i hate shopping and it's been sooooo long that i've liked my figure that i don't know what suits so this for me is worth every penny - Anyway - her name is Kate Evans - http://www.kate-evans.co.uk/personal-shopping/ Whatever you choose and i'm sure there'll be lots of people to advise on the right shops - good luck and i just can't wait to be able to want to go shopping again to buy fab clothes :)
  21. We also love Henry - and when our last one broke down and I asked our cleaner if she had any one she'd prefer and she said always Henry - we have floor boards downstairs and carpets up.
  22. I'm quite biase as I'm born and bread Dulwich and still have my mum down the road in HH but I can't see us leaving. My husband is a countryish boy (Northamptonshire) and I think he initially saw us here til kids were 7ish and then moving out to commuter belt however he's fallen in love with Dulwich (maybe that's a bit strong but really likes it!!), realises how extremely lucky we are to still have all my family and pretty much all my school friends still around (his friends are scattered all over the place) and also his hours are pretty long and at the moment he sees the kids most mornings but never in the evenings however if i'm having a shocker of a day he can be home for bath/bed to help however if we moved out this just wouldn't be possible anymore and he wouldn't be able to see kids in morning either. My brother left ED a few years back to go to near Stratford and he has never looked back and just loves it however he spends most of his time working from home and on the road and only has to come into London once a fortnight so it works well. He does miss being a taxi ride home after Twickenham days out though :) I do love having friends in the country though so we can visit but we're definitely here for the longhaul.
  23. I'd forgotten about the hickeys - owowowow. Funnily baby no.1 was a big hickey giver but baby no.2 never did it!!! I feel for you
  24. Ant - that really made me giggle :)
