We will get Visa free travel to the EU no matter what (Sky News just reported). But that doesn't mean freedom of movement - just that we have a scheme like the US I think.

Very softly softly Lithuania is after our FinTechs "In particular, the Lithuanian delegation led by Marius Jurgilas, a board member at the Bank of Lithuania ... 'We are not saying that we will be attracting top firms from the fintech hub of the world, which is and always will be London, to the new booming financial sector in Lithuania, no,? he said. ?But there is a huge flow of firms ? and we want to participate in that flow ? who want to hedge the risk of Brexit.'" https://www.forbes.com/sites/joewalleneurope/2018/10/28/how-has-lithuania-become-one-of-europes-most-exciting-fintech-hotspots/

Ahh a twist from yesterday I didn't notice. Some in the EU are suggesting that the backstop issue can be resolved ... by committing to a permanent Customs Union. That might bring Jeremy Corbyn and Labour on board to support Mays deal thus over-riding the ERG (and now she's talking to him). May could sell it as something a future PM could rescind to allow UK independent trade negotiations. https://www.buzzfeed.com/alexwickham/ministers-think-a-permanent-customs-union-with-the-eu-is

My thoughts exactly - If we struggle with the Brexit talks we'll be steamrollered by the US and China (and others)

As the former Greek Finance minister said they do a form of negotiating that is very like telling you what to do. Am I wrong to want an organisation like that to be working in my interests though - or is that just selfish :) 4 mins or so into this video ...

They can't force UK to continue paying but it just seemed funny even to a remainer like me - dodgy builder: the plan is you just keep paying us mate - we'll do the job later.

?What we were thinking" EU comes up with it's no deal plan (and I'm not trying to wind up leavers) https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/no-deal-brexit-uk-eu-payments-deal-talks-european-commission-a8754226.html

We gave/loaned some to the EU - so the EU itself does have some sovereignty. I see France's permanent UN Security Council seat moving to the EU one day (sorry French Nationalists).

Yes - it is ever closer union (well was). Didn't a Dane say : "There are two kinds of European nations. There are small nations and there are countries that have not yet realized they are small nations."

  12. Compared the Half Moon and The Crown & Greyhound on trip adviser yesterday. How is there such a difference - shouldn't they be run on similar lines ?
  13. Wow - Wales tipped on Sky News by Will Greenwood - we're done for then.

well I tried not to have a twitter meltdown :) But beginning to agree with lots of leavers - sack all of them and replace - it's just the method.

Father of the House Ken Clarke: "This is an almost unique political crisis. The public at the moment are looking upon our political system with something near to contempt. In the last month or two I have listened to what I - as a fairly experienced member here now - consider extraordinary nonsense about sweeping away centuries of tradition and destroying our procedures." He gets it at least.

Some references in here https://culs.org.uk/per-incuriam/articles/not-your-typical-brexit-article-brexit-and-contracts/ Would the EU actually pay up in a no deal (if we didn't pay up our ?39B)- why should they ?

Theresa May wants to re-negotiate the WA. Good luck with that. The EMA - Sell this piece of bad memory https://www.politico.eu/article/london-brexit-europe-house-dont-bet-on-britain-getting-the-house-in-the-divorce/ and move the EU UK reach out team to the old EMA offices :) Simples. I don't know why the EU still want Smith Square.

They are a tank we're a mini that thinks we're a tank. to clarify my comment - we are one country bargaining with a conglomerate of countries acting in concert and our plan seemed to be to split them and they rumbled it.
