If you look at the EUs timetable http://www.europarl.europa.eu/unitedkingdom/en/ukevents/brexit.html#shadowbox/1/ The EU parliament votes -> EU concludes deal with exiting member -> Individual parliaments vote - but only on future agreements (trade etc). I'd say UK parliament will vote about the same time as EU parliament and before individual parliaments. I'm absolutely sure a final stay offer will come (like Sky offering 60% discount as you cancel)

What I miss in a union is if I have an issue or want something I have to ask myself and it can get personal - I'd love to "hide" behind the union whilst being a jolly and happy worker :) My German colleagues have Workers Councils - and it seems to benefit them (although some changes happen slower because of them).

LOL That ain't happening :) :) "The Archbishop of Canterbury has called for a Christmas truce in the increasingly bitter row between politicians over Brexit. Justin Welby called for a "ceasefire" on the use of insults, "personalised attacks" and "pejorative terms" as the process of leaving the European Union continues."

Maybe some palates can taste the difference. I'll stock up on loads of supermarket cheese - Stilton, Jarlsberg, Camembert etc. :)

Daily Mail on about Traitors again. Even Sky points out they're going to use that to be seen as heroes - and will be more likely to rebel again.
  9. SebC - check the company webpage and see who they use for reading meters (just google it), ring the company and check and if it's not them report even if nothings missing. A lot of people I thought dodgy are genuine mind. I had a call from "my bank" the other day and was sure they were fake - they even got the location wrong (in my opinion anyway - maybe not in theirs) - but on ringing back on a different phone - they were good and were offering me something I'd find useful :)

Guy Verhofstadt has tweeted that as he has now seen what David Davis said and it is unhelpful and undermines trust, European Parliament text will now reflect this and insist agreement is translated into legal text ASAP. Well done Davis you clown :)
  11. Sounds like the upgrade mine went through last week (which wanted another reload after it seemed complete). Mine seemed to download ASUS drivers but not sure where from (it's an ASUS) You can't work with the thing being scared to reload mind - then it's running you :)

All the salt was taken by the Turkish restaurant opposite then :) (and I like the turkish place - it's meant to be salty)

David Davis has now apparently retracted yesterdays comments. I never understand him anyway. "Davis, the Brexit secretary, retracted the suggestion he made yesterday that the UK could back out of the commitments it had made on the Irish border. He said his comments had been misinterpreted. Government is spinning this phase one agreement to mean different things to different people - OK that's what happens and no doubt Ireland and the EU have tried as well. But 27 nations have to sign off on phase 1 still - and antagonising them doesn't help. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/some-of-you-irish-need-to-get-over-yourselves-sky-presenter-defends-coveney-interview-1.3321769

  21. OK I'm not very religious but for those who are especially Catholics - can he ? He says Satan leads us into temptation, not God, but Satan comes under Gods domain IMHO - they even had a friendly chat about Job once (I went to Sunday school for years which is why I have an interest). https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/dec/08/lead-us-not-into-mistranslation-pope-wants-lords-prayer-changed
  22. if it's Windows 10 - right hand click on the "start" button (or whatever they call it) and choose 'device manager' - in there is a 'keyboards' section. If you can identify the keyboard there you can either try to update or choose properties and try 'rollback' maybe try looking at the events tab in the keyboard properties list too. I'm guessing a bit here mind you.

Maybe this from the Guardian explains it "The first, and biggest, concession is buried in paragraph 49 of the 15-page report published early on Friday morning. Its implications will be anything but quiet in the weeks to come, for it undermines the prime minister?s previous insistence that Britain will be leaving the single market. It states clearly: ?In the absence of agreed solutions, the United Kingdom will maintain full alignment with those rules of the internal market and the customs union.? In other words, the UK may not be a member of the single market, or have any direct ability to shape its rules in future, but it could yet have to play by them in perpetuity." https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/dec/08/not-much-remain-theresa-may-red-lines-brexit-deal

Twitter full of howls of betrayal and traitor from brexiters and especially Leave.EU who are apoplectic Remainers saying we're staying in the single market (don't know where they're getting that from) It all seems a fudge to me :)
