Highlight of 31/12/1999 - some user couldn't log on and 20 IT staff turn up to help :)

I remember the huge 1999 anti climax people working or on call no-one in pubs Never really bothered with NYE since. Edit : Mind -- noticed Cherry Tree has tickets to print on their thread - assume first come gets in until full ??

They'd probably replace it with luxury flats if they could mind :) Suppose there will be investment opportunities for those with money on OKR. -
Just watch Pretty Little Liars - nothing ever happens - perfect for dozing. and 5 series :)

In the Standard http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/bakerloo-line-extension-to-bypass-peckham-but-tubes-could-reach-lewisham-by-2030-a3140041.html "TfL has said it will seek planning permission for the work in 2020 should the proposals be given the green light BY WHOM?." "Richard de Cani, TfL's managing director for planning, cautioned that "no final decisions have been made" on whether the extension would go ahead." My feeling still says this isn't going to happen - there's 5 years for someone to say "forget it". -

Moved it to earlier in the day.

Ahhh - I see the flaw in the analysis - no we have Thameslink. "The Camberwell and Peckham Rye route option would, by comparison, serve more established town centres that have existing travel markets with new high frequency and fast rail services into the heart of the West End." -

I walked out of mine the very moment free drinks stopped. Hopefully nobody noticed :)

Whatever routeis selected, it will not be a cheap project! Extending the Bakerloo line to Hayes will cost up to ?3 billion and TfL will be consulting with the London boroughs affected to identify funding options. These could be similar to the Crossrail and the Northern Line Extension projects where funding includes contributions from new residential and commercial developments along the proposed extension." In other words funded by Gentrification tax - although I'm sure the US Embassy was involved in Battersea - there's no embassies going to Old Kent Road. -

I suggest a new manager - one who will be tough on drumming. South Americans are in vogue. -

The Rye Lane I know is nothing like that of course - If I dropped a cigarette there I'd be pulled :).

Some people (camberwell/peckham) are pleased - seeing transport links as gentrification facilitators. The whole thing does seem profit driven (getting new people in an area rather than looking after people already there). "Next up are the Bakerloo Line extension and Crossrail 2. The former could create vanishing acts in Camberwell and Peckham Rye, or along the Old Kent Road, depending which route is chosen." From http://www.theguardian.com/cities/2015/jun/24/which-london-neighbourhoods-will-disappear-next -
Telegraph disagreed (before Paris but taking it into account) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/oilprices/12032020/Dont-write-off-the-future-of-oil-and-gas-just-yet.html Electric could actually be produced by Coal, Gas, Nuclear or other. If the government really wanted to push alternatives fund the Swansea lagoon - instead of delaying. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-34420631

Looking at the history of the Bakerloo Line extension however over the last 100 years - and you would say why would this plan be any different to the others? (nothing happened). -

"Subject to funding and securing powers could be completed by 2030" The above to me reads as never (subject to.. could) being rather cynical :) -
