Also Sheen saying no risk of transmission - I assume that's because he was on medication. Heard conflicting arguments about that - i.e. undetectable positive = non infectious. Is it just me that was brought up to assume everybody you sleep with is High Risk - HepB and HepC as well as HIV - until proven otherwise
  2. I'm above commercial - you do get the odd mouse too - they climb walls :) When I open my window the noise from Rye Lane is pretty loud - a family might not like it at all. Being single I'm quite happy.
  3. Peckham Vision have now posted what I think they see as the issue - that future residents of the flats will complain and get venues shut - mentions Canavans who face the same issue too. https://www.facebook.com/PeckhamVision/?fref=nf
  4. LondonMix Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > JohnL -- have you read the planning application? Not in full - but enough that I can see it seems to be sympathetic to the traders. Maybe both sides will move closer as the developers have been invited to the meeting on Tuesday (assuming it's not an ambush). Will read in full tomorrow (more time). The worst outcome for me would be the traders all move out when building work starts (temporarily) and for various reasons never come back.
  5. The same line is coming out in all the reports - nothing really mainstream yet however (even the timeout quote was part of a blog). If it goes wrong Southwark will look very stupid down the line - whatever their decision. another one today http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=32180&comments=1
  6. Peckham Vision have named the company in the invitation anyway - not that it matters - it is a professional property developer and they seem to be open about it on their webpage http://frameproperty.com/portfolio/electric/ (beaten to it :) )

  8. Peckham Vision has setup a meeting at the Bussey on 17th November. Deadline apparently moved to 3rd December. https://www.facebook.com/PeckhamVision/posts/1024442117578651 Edit: Owner is known (I saw it earlier on FB but might have been removed)- they purchased in early 2015.:)

  10. I do see it possibly becoming more like Cardiff's "Brewery Quarter" if this goes ahead which is a nice place but way more commercialised - and that won't go down well with the people there now. And of course there's a Starbucks.
  11. Time Out article just out - quote ?Once the flats go in, you can forget about the Bussey Building?. http://www.timeout.com/london/blog/it-would-kill-us-the-bussey-building-tell-us-why-theyre-suddenly-under-threat-111215
  12. Surprised that the people running CLF Art Cafe etc weren't consulted and "brought onside" if it is no threat to them - as they have heavily attacked this on multiple social media platforms - I've had emails, twitter, facebook today. They claim they only heard about this yesterday. They'll probably set-up an anti dance night too I suppose.
  13. Over 100 anti comments on the application and 1500 almost on the petition. Whatever the merits/spin it's taken off.
  14. I heard Khan's was going to refurbish the frontage to the original quality. Didn't know they were to become Khan's Posh Nosh :)

  16. There is a document called Document - FACADE SOUND INSULATION ASSESSMENT "The site is situated in the close vicinity of a busy road to the west, a railway line to the north and a bar/club to the east. A noise survey has been carried out by Apex Acoustics on the north, east and west facades to establish the noise levels incident on the development for the purposes of determining the facade sound insulation requirements. The noise survey results demonstrate that the site is affected by high levels of noise, with noise from the Bussey Building and associated courtyard to the east being one of the primary sources of noise at the site. Noise levels from the Bussey Building are highest on the east facade, therefore it is proposed that the bedrooms will be located on the north and west facades where the incident noise levels are lower. Dining/living areas are to be provided on the east facade. For the west facade, high performance double glazed units are proposed in order to control environmental noise ingress from Rye Lane. For the east facade, enclosed winter gardens are generally proposed along with a high performance double glazed unit to the living spaces, all of which is predicted to result in internal noise levels that achieve the requirements established with Southwark Council." ** That's only an extract **
  17. Surely it would all close whilst building work was undertaken - a basement excavation. How long would that take ? 74 public comments - all anti now. petition close to 1000.

  19. Not a positive public comment on the application that I can see One says Comment submitted date: Thu 12 Nov 2015 I Say HELL NO
  20. Can't believe this would even be contemplated. Signed.
  21. I don't like turning right at this junction (away from Peckham) - but I'd like to think I could see a cyclist.
  22. There used to be a view back in the day that you didn't want to become "known" to the Police in any way. If you followed The Bill I suppose you'd agree with that :)
  23. That young girl who punched a vulnerable boy and then said "whatever" in court got 8 months http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3092020/My-address-Courtroom-arrogance-girl-14-locked-punching-boy-face.html This is probably worse.
  24. I had some bacon that was a week old - as it was smoked thought about it but chucked :) I thought smoked stuff kept forever - but depends how much smoked I suppose.

Corbyn said he won't, Cameron says he would. Blair needed a replacement button. It really doesn't matter - you can never know what they'd really do.
