There's a Guardian article which asks why we think attacks against Russia are linked to them getting involved whilst assuming attacks against us are due to our Western values.

Osborne has seen Labour move left and he has moved left to cover the ground. Good politically. But we end up with everybody moving left (if Osborne wins).

The Dentist will be rehoused. Maybe a dentist ghetto could be created.

Not unless you carpet bomb - and that is not seen as right (Dresden was terrible). Russia might however http://theaviationist.com/2015/11/18/tu-22m3-carpet-bombing-receiving-end/

I supported Corbyn as he would drag the whole political debate leftwards -- and he has. Osborne will be centre-left soon. Left wingers can be more war crazy than right wingers however - but not until they get into power :)

Peckham Rye Adventure Playground to Close??
JohnL replied to stephen509's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Looks like they are 'regenerating' a lot of the park here's the schedule/plan as well http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200557/peckham_and_nunhead_regeneration/3843/peckham_rye_park_and_common/3 http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200557/peckham_and_nunhead_regeneration/3843/peckham_rye_park_and_common They also seem to have put the management of all of Southwark's parks up for tender starting Oct 2016 . http://www.hortweek.com/southwark-tenders-parks-contract-14-years/parks-and-gardens/article/1368966 -

From their website below - sounds like the railway equivalent of emergency powers. I'm sure they would love to merge the two north bound trains (St Albans and Bedford) just after 9:00 to one. The first one always comes after the second is scheduled. "Due to poor punctuality during autumn, and the very busy nature of the service, Thameslink have worked with Network Rail to temporarily remove a number of off-peak services from the timetable. This is to help reduce congestion on the network, so that a more reliable service can be provided overall. This will continue until Friday 27 November, on a one week trial. Seven off peak services each way between Brighton and London Bridge will run between Brighton and Gatwick Airport only, and two services will not run. Additional station stops have been added into other Thameslink or Southern trains to provide travel alternatives. Ticket acceptance is in place so Southern and Thameslink passengers can use each others services between London and Brighton. Thameslink state that they have considered these temporary changes carefully to minimise the impact on passengers. Thameslink will review the effect they have on overall punctuality during this week, and assess if they should continue up until the timetable change on 13 December when a new off peak timetable pattern is due to be introduced."

Thameslink are actually removing trains from the network now to reduce congestion. Something is really not right - Is it still knock on issues from London Bridge.

I was thinking about why I supported Corbyn in the summer - It wasn't to get him as PM - it was to drag the whole of British politics to the left a bit. George Osborne seems to be heading left fast - so in a way it worked (for what I wanted).

Ok - Our friend Eamonn was interviewing George today on Sky News. Seemed to go left field again Why didn't you tell people you had some money so they didn't worry. Why are you wearing a luminous jacket. It appears it's all about you. Why did my motor insurance tax go up this year. George just looked rather bewildered.

He'll be named somewhere down the line too (Judge will allow it).

Pepys Road is that road from New Cross up the hill ?

Surely not !! Just read the Guardians review of the book and "Arabella is the nastiest character in the book" http://www.theguardian.com/books/2012/mar/04/capital-john-lanchester-review (probably a spoiler) Set in 2008 - so Peckham wasn't trendy and I was just moving in.

I can remember the phoenix being there since the early 90s - went for a pint there after an interview. A fire burned down the station which is why it's called the Phoenix. I still think the issue is trains not running on time, train management and lack of staff - similar to Peckham Rye (where I've never seen staff on the platforms). Thameslink have really failed the franchise.

Maybe the banks ought to run this type of system. or the busses - trains already do ;)
-
Thameslink not having a good time. Trains delayed until the next set of customers arrive - then two trainloads waiting for one train makes the platforms crowded. I Complained this morning - saying surely not congestion at the root cause - but reply said it was.

Misrepresentation - I'd call it politics :) i.e. Hinting that closure of the bussey is almost certain if development goes ahead. But what did you expect - people will fight for their cause - and that gives leverage. -
Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You get 28 days holiday per year - that's whether > you work 5 days or 6 days a week. > > why convert the holiday to number of weeks off - > this just confuses things I suppose if you want to go off to Greece for 2 weeks you have to take 12 days instead of 10.
