  1. I didn't know so many had leasehold issues - it's a huge issue in some facebook groups and it'snot just councils - some freeholders sold on their freeholds to basically cowboys. https://www.facebook.com/groups/nationalleaseholdcampaign
  2. LOL it's easier to send a small amazon gift card than a christmas card.
  3. Everytime I check twitter I see an ad telling me to get checked up for one thing or another. Also got my 55 year service coming up :)
  4. Try the Leaseholder Knowledge Partnership for some advice also https://www.leaseholdknowledge.com/
  5. Certain traffic at certain times is allowed in Rye Lane - I see them removing the bollards most days.

Be careful of statistics You could replace "African American" by just "Men" or a number of other groups and get the same result.
  7. He does look ill in the face sometimes as you watch him - stressed. Long Covid is a real thing as well.
  8. He's also arguing that red tape creates jobs, the opposite of what we've been taught for a number of years.
  9. Gove's still going this morning 'Gove also said British business must get ?match fit? in order to overcome all the new red tape coming into force as the UK leaves the customs union. ?I?m sure there will be bumpy moments but we are there in order to try to do everything we can to smooth the path.?' He's preparing the ground for a new post brexit government

Replaced by Gove (who I notice is trying to be inclusive in a Govish way).

Agreed Something about the movements of troops in WW1 was supposed to cause a bad mutation between the first and second wave in 1918 (but not sure exactly how). But those that do should ensure we don't somehow walk into that scenario.
  12. So EU say we will get some normality by Autumn 2021, Hancock last week said 2022. It's not optimism either side of the channel "Matt Hancock is "confident" life will begin to start returning to some semblance of normality by "2022." " Not sure why Hancock sees it as 2022 - but that means another year of restrictions https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/matt-hancock-confident-life-return-19514073 Either way unless everybody stays in step it'll mutate to something beyond the current vaccines - and that means the rest of the world as well.
  13. With a deal I don't think it will be catastrophic, just a slow wind down. People outside the UK make little jokes (about Boris and his gang) and it's just accepted as normal that he's the joke leader of the world once Trump leaves. If we get pushed into doing silly autocratic things just to prove we're independent and have power it won't work out well, he needs to behave pragmatically without having a point to prove.. You can't go on a trajectory at 90 degrees to the way the rest of the world is moving and stay that way forever just because you can.
  14. Time will tell - but we'll see who is most efficient at delivery. The EU is moving these will be the tests "supply shortages, logistical hurdles, misinformation, public skepticism and the sheer scale of the effort ensure that it will be an uphill struggle against a virus that is constantly evolving." https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/27/world/europe/covid-19-eu-vaccine.html
  15. Apparently The PM and Government are now looking for divergences from the EU to test the agreement in 2021. Not for the good of people but just political reasons. He has these psychos in parliament and he has to prove his credentials to them rather than run the country.

Deaths I've always been told the best way to predict anything going forward (like competency) is to look at what has already happened.
  17. The investigation and punishment of those involved with Cambridge Analytica seems to be going on with not much being reported in the UK. WE don't seem to be changing our electoral processes much however. Steve Bannon has been ordered to testify ahead of his latest trial https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/steve-bannon-interview-under-oath-ftc-investigation-cambridge-analytica/ and back in September Alexander Nix was banned from serving as a director for unethical practices around voting. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/sep/24/cambridge-analytica-directorship-ban-alexander-nix
  18. Solving the cladding scandal fairly - there seems to be a lot of support on the Tory back benches.
  19. Pritti Patel apparently has asked a civil service team to investigate bring in death penalty.

I believe B & M > IN OLD KENT ROAD MAYBE HIRING > My daughter just left there 2 weeks ago to start a > new job In a doctors surgery tell your daughter to > pop in and try there .. Maybe it was at a time of initiatives like the below - I've noticed manager level employees sometimes can't explain company policies very well and resort to simplistic explanations. You have to turn down an applicant so you come up with a populist reason from something you read about company policy. https://www.snopes.com/news/2017/01/30/starbucks-to-hire-10000-refugees/ Isn't there a local coffee shop that gives preference to the homeless.
  21. EU has a surplus in Goods - those are now covered by the deal UK has a surplus in Services - Services have no deal.

I should have planned my day better - I had a small delivery from Iceland that was 8-10am (I gave up at 11am) and it ended up showing up at 4:00 pm - it through me right off for the day. But Booze I got early - I even seem to have ended up with 2L x spiced rum l... priorities :)

  24. It worries me how fawning certain journalists have become - on certain twitter accounts it was like they were covering the birth of Jesus Christ.
  25. Being late regularly and having big announcements on Christmas Eve is something a dictator would do IMHO When Maxwell used to pee over the side of the Mirror building (even when people were below) - that was also symptomatic of a narcissist - not heard of Boris doing that .... yet.
