insert%20link%20here I would put your photo up, but it's too big for the page and you can't resize direct on the forum.

A few drunk loutish England fans let the side down on Lordship Lane
Siduhe replied to IlonaM's topic in The Lounge
You can still do both of those if you don't mind getting involved with a bit of basic tagging... and the direct link to another page/site which appeared in blue text -
It depends what you are looking for and whether you can travel, but we used Car Wow for our last car purchase - you can set the parameters of what you want and dealers can make you an offer on any car they have that matches your criteria. I was pretty sceptical but it worked out well for us - we ended up driving quite a way but got a good deal including part-ex. https://www.carwow.co.uk/used-cars

Out of curiosity - which coach firm? If it's the same firm that regularly serve Harris Boys on Peckham Rye, it's pointless asking them to switch their engines off - you get ignored at best and told to "f'off back on your bicycle" at worst. And reporting it to the coach firm doesn't make any difference. Believe me I've tried.

Administrator Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi, excluding the Google search results page > issue, is anyone still getting the error message? No error messages, www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk is resolving correctly for me now. And google.co.uk looks like it is putting the forum as first option again too.

Slightly off topic but I see the Facebook Group EDF has now branched out into Instagram?.. https://instagram.com/eastdulwichforum?utm_medium=copy_link

If I try and access [https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk], this is what I get today: only [/forum/list.php?5] is working for me on Chrome (square brackets to avoid the auto hyperlinks)

Where can I recycle brita cartridges locally?
Siduhe replied to kmoon249's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sainsbury's Sydenham definitely takes them, or at least did a few weeks ago. -
LTNs - EDG residents overwhelmingly against road closures

No direct advice but we drove past one of these last week - http://www.temporarykitchenpod.co.uk/ - never seen one before but they look great for a longer refurb if you have the space. No idea on pricing.

There's a couple of fairly recent threads on this - try here: /forum/read.php?32,2199606

I've held off posting on this thread for a bit but I did want to update on my personal experience living on near boundary roads to the Court Lane LTN. One bit of good news is that we have monitoring strips in place now on Underhill, Wood Vale and Melford Road thanks to our local councillors. The feedback from the strips won't be gathered until after the consultation closes but will form part of the considerations I understand. The other thing is that I have noticed a distinct downturn in traffic/vehicle numbers on those roads at peak times since the end of the half term. The cynic in me suspects that is more to do with the Thames Water works on Wood Vale/Forest Hill Road than modal shift, but it definitely feels less busy traffic-wise than it did after the Court Lane LTN went in, so I'm open to the idea that things may be settling down for us a bit. I do appreciate not everyone is having the same experience - the traffic on Lordship Lane and EDG seems particularly bad when I head down that way, but things certainly seem less bad (in this corner of ED) than they did, which is hopeful.

I have a, now fairly ancient, Kuo electric assisted bike which I love. It has a boost throttle so you can get away from the lights quickly and I use it as a constant assist (level 3 out of 5) when I'm cycling. I couldn't commute on a regular bike now - too old and decrepit - and I'm a massive fan generally of electric bikes. However, there are some negative points - my bike is really heavy - un-rideable without the battery and electric assist. Newer electric bikes tend to be a bit lighter so that may not be a concern if you're buying new but generally they are heavier. So keeping on top of the battery charge is important. The other point is maintenance - the company that sold my bike no longer operates in the UK, parts are impossible to come by for the electric bits and no-one really knows how to maintain or service the electric bits of the bike any more, so it's getting increasingly difficult to keep it in good working order. One of our local bike shops declined to even do a mechanical service on it this year (having previously serviced it regularly), so with hindsight I should have spent a bit more money on a known brand with a better service record, but at the time it was a real investment for me.

You will probably find more people who can help in the Family Room - and you may find it easier to add to one of the existing threads on homeschooling to bring it back up to the board (as that way, anyone who is following the thread will see your reply) rather than starting a new thread. Here's a few threads to get you going (the second one is a bit old) but the first one is recent: /forum/read.php?29,2168077,2169056 /forum/read.php?29,1772236,1773961

I'm trying really hard not to jump to conclusions about "them and us" but wtf? Why on earth does Court Lane need resurfacing - it's the smoothest, widest road I know in Southwark. It doesn't have any of the potholes, raised man-covers and cracked tarmac that Wood Vale, Underhill and Melford (and plenty of other streets nearby) do. Am I missing something here?
-
I'd also be interested to know - I live around Wood Vale/Melford, and there has been a lot of discussion on the neighbourhood chat about the original attack with people checking any CCTV (none of which is likely to have caught it as people's systems don't monitor the street, as far as the discussions I have seen) but nothing about any further attacks, so it would be really useful to know more about this.

You can buy them from Southwark and then book a collection online: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/garden-waste-collection-subscriptions?chapter=2 https://www.southwark.gov.uk/wasteservices/gardenwastebags Service is pretty good - once I've booked a collection I just leave them out with my brown bin - but if you don't book a collection they don't get taken in my experience.

Lateral Flow Test - printed result
Siduhe replied to Alan Medic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Different venues have different requirements, but if you only need a lateral flow test (and not a PCR or both PCR and lateral flow) then you'll need to go to a test centre and give an email contact only for your test result. They should email the result in a couple of hours which you can then print off. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/test-results/how-you-get-your-test-result/ -
You can also easily opt in or out online if you know your NHS number: https://your-data-matters.service.nhs.uk/

To be fair mr.chicken, you don't know true horror until a gentleman in tight (possibly undersized) lycra shorts or leggings, without appropriate undergarments, stops in front of you and stands on his pedals and bends over, rather than put a foot down. I'm not sure that all of them understand just how much is visible. More of an issue on my cycle into Blackfriars to be fair, but, as an increasingly elderly woman cyclist, I want to howl "my eyes, my eyes".

This is a great idea - exactly the sort of thing that the Council should be thinking about funding (or part funding a private business) as part of its strategy. I've got pretty good at two panniers and a backpack but for really heavy or bulky items it would be great to have another option.

It depends on what e-paper and what type of subscription. It is more likely than not that you would need to cancel your existing subscription and get a specialised Kindle subscription. For example, I have a Times Digital subscription which allows me to read on mobile, PC and tablet, but it doesn't work on the Kindle and there is a separate subscription plan for the Times on the Kindle store.

Hi Nigello, funny you should say that - I've already tried. On the website it says that feedback needs to be given by telephone or by a secure online form. When you go to the online form, it is a failed webpage that says "this page does not exist". So I tried to telephone, and after a long period of waiting, my call was picked up - when I explained what I was trying to do, the receptionist said - "We don't do that over the phone. Write to us" and put the phone down on me. I'll write an old fashioned letter to the Practice Administrator, but the fact the online form isn't working and there isn't a process for giving feedback by phone isn't helpful.
