Hi. Does anyone know if the bb that Carly does is suitable when pregnant? Thanks!

How about an appt at a spa or hairdresser in the morn and then if a good friend can lend you their keys locally you can use their place for a sleep and a hot bath in silence?

Hi all. Congrats to everyone. I am pregnant with my 2nd child due in march.. My son will be 2.5 then so it will be interesting!! I'm away in turkey on holidays at the moment so will catch up when I am back, would love to meet up!! I was dreadfully sick with my son for the whole time but have been fine with this one so far so fingers crossed it stays that way!! Xx -

How soon should I register for a nursery place?
Strawbs replied to sidmeister's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I am 13w pregnant with my second child and have registered this baby already with my son's nursery. Never ever too early! When I was pregnant with my now 2yr old son I registered him with three nurseries and didn't get a place with any of them.. Good luck and congrats x -
H&m and next are your best bet..

I use Carly off the forum to do my hair, she is a mobile hairdresser who I find fantastic, she cuts the hair of the entire family now and does my colours and brazillian blowdrys and is very reasonable. Her number is 07903 241170. Shoot her a text, she is very responsive. x

1st Birthday- Any ideas where to celebrate?
Strawbs replied to BVale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I had my son's 1st bday party at the peckham pulse soft play, nothing extravagent but very affordable and it was the right kind of timings for us, 45mins play time and 45 mins to go upstairs and have some food. x -
Belle you have nailed my experiences to a tea! Its unreal how alike our children sound. There is an entrance by the old harvester up the top of the lane but not sure about parking now because I think the old pub carpark is blocked off but I havent been up there since before I had baby strawbs so I cant say with any certainty.x

Putting aside the slightly condescending tone of some of your post, I do not believe my expectations of my son need to be reviewed or altered. As you say you have not met my son. Whilst he is not a crazy animal that literally runs around 24x7 he is in comparison to his peers more energetic than most. My expectations of him are very relaxed as he is only 22m old so really I have none but it would be nice if like a lot of his friends he would sit and focus on an activity for 5 minutes, sit for 5 minutes in a park so we could consider sitting down as a family and having a picnic, not feeling the need at roughly 4.45-5am daily to be running up and down the halls constantly. As much as I appreciate your view that yes there is plenty of time for them to be quiet and still at school I think in order to maintain your sanity that you need a balance between the hyperactivity and the quiet and I am yet to achieve that with my son. I saw a post re trips to the woods on here the other day and in fact it has inspired me to take him this weekend.

Thanks slh2009 that is great to hear!! I normally avoid things like this like the plague which actually means outside of practically living at the park we dont do a lot of activities in confined spaces (ok NONE) but I'd hope like your child he'd like to see all the different sea animals etc and might actually participate in the activity rather than running around wildly. I think I am going to do with Saffron suggested and go outside of school holidays time, take a day off work and head in with him and test the waters pardon the pun! x

Council nets ?60k in Lordship Lane fines - Cash Cow
Strawbs replied to eddie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hardly a cash cow! If drivers didnt drive in the bus lane then ?0 revenue would be raised! -
Saffron that is a great idea! thank you.. xxx

Can someone let me know how it is set up i.e. could I take a very active 2 year old there who likes to run about and see things (rather than EVER walk! hehe) or would that be just too hard in a place like that? x

This thread has made me feel not so completely alone! I thought about a meet up too but would we a actually get to speak? Haha.. We have a friend's BBQ to go to and mini strawbs will be the only child in a small garden with stairs out of the house and honestly besides a cafe or a pub I can't think of anything worse and I prepped my OH that we would drop in but when it got too much we were leaving to which I could then feel the frustration bubbling from my OH but I just reminded that it will be a hell of a lot worse when we are there! Always happy to meet up if anyone ever needs to get the kids out of the house, we are up at 5 daily so normally at the park by 8.30 or else baby strawbs is climbing the walls!

Lets hear it for Gestational Diabetes....!

Here is the pancake recipe. I didnt put wheatbran in, probably because I couldnt find it but the oatbran is in an orange pack in sainos. http://mydukandiet.com/recipes/oat-bran-pancake.html x -
QueenMab - your beach holiday sounds like a dream!! I think we need one of those tbh.. I quite like dulwich park for my son to run around in as it feels less stressful as he can just run and run and Im not hovvering over him, we have stopped going to the swings at goose green as it is just so stressful there, he is running in to people / things etc and it just feels all a bit crowded. He still doesnt sleep through the night at almost 2 and I wonder if it is because he is high energy, I would have thought the opposite tbh!! I must say his nursery are very good with him and he gets extra dancing time / outside time as they know he is happiest when he is running about. x

I really feel for you hon, I had it when pregnant and it was not great! I was on insulin to happy to answer any questions you have. I have some books at home somewhere on the 'dukan diet' and whilst obv you are not going on a diet that had loads of super high protein meals in there including some pancakes which were made out of oatbran and egg (or something like that, but I'll google it for you - you can buy it in sainos in the cereal section). They werent the worst things Ive ever tasted so that could be an option for you to mix it up a little.. I'll do some googling for you now xx -
Brilliant read! She describes my son to a tea..
