  1. It's not on his eyeball but it's in the very corner of his eye in the crease near his nose - does that make sense? X
  2. That meant to say brilliant not braint , bloody phone!!
  3. Biant thank you for the oat suggestion everyone! We just had our first hysterical wake up sonwe stripped and lathered him, gave him some milk (he has them in his mouth so off his food so I'm getting milk in when I can).. He wants to only sleep on me which would be fine if he would let me sit or lie down, he goes ballistic if I'm not standing, finally got him to sleep and in his cot so I'm going to grab some sleep for a couple of hours.. Thursday / Friday he was perfectly fine but yesterday and today he is really suffering so by the sounds of it maybe by Tuesday he may be a little more comfortable.. Pickle - totally agree, poor baby has been through the mill lately.. We have a long awaited gastro follow up appt on Friday but I'm going to need to call them tomorrow to see if they want me to defer as I don't want to risk giving it to any of the kids in the waiting room with us.. When it rains it pours eh?!! Thanks again everyone x
  4. Poor baby strawbs has picked up chickenpox.. Whilst I'm glad in a way he has it now at 13 months rather than as an older boy, it's heartbreaking to watch! We go through moments of hysterical crying.. He has spots everywhere including his mouth, eyes and genital area including his anus.. I'm using vira soothe and Eurax cream which are good.. I'm doing bi carb soda baths which seem to really relieve his issues.. Tried calamine for the first day but it really didn't do much albeit he enjoys getting it applied.. Anything else I could be doing? I'm also using piriton to help with the itching and nurofen to control the temp.. First spots appeared Thursday, how many more days of hell is he set to face? His nursery had an outbreak of cp and his gp and chemist said they've seem loads of cases over the past 5 weeks.. X
  5. I went to Australia on my own when my baby was 7 months and it was totally fine. I just wanted to let you know it may not be a horror story. Take bottles, ready made cartons, a few toys on a lanyard so they don't end on the floor but you can put it round your neck and baby can play with them. If no dummy then bottle for take off and landing. MOre nappies and babygrows for baby than you think and snacks.. Best thing you can do is keep calm as baby will pick up on your vibe.. Good luck! X
  6. Ps a few of my friends have also used the technique I use after I talked them through it and they also saw results..x
  7. I had to do sleep training with my son and it did work, he didn't sleep through properly til 10 months but I did see immediate results as at the time he was waking up every 45 mins. I also did that sleep seminar everyone raves about when he was a few days old and even though I think I'm the only one I didn't find it helpful. I know you have your own things in the pipeline but I'm very happy to talk you through the sleep training we did. Your baby is still young so the sleep training that is relevant to him whilst it does involve crying you are with him the whole time. X
  8. I have more bath toys than we can poke a stick at but he loves his bath book that squeaks and also we got a set of stacking cups which happen to have holes in the bottom so he has one of those in the bath and loves to watch the water come out the bottom. We were also given a yellow duck which if you wind up its legs spin and he gets a lot of enjoyment out of me winding it up and letting the legs spin like mad x
  9. I was thinking a box of chocolates for all the nursery staff to share and a nice scarf or similar x
  10. I just did the PNP ones for my neice and nephew in Australia - bloody brilliant! thank you! x

Fairly sure that given he was referred to a&e each time by the seldoc doctor it's slightly more useful than dealing with parental panics as you put it.. Tsk Tsk..
  12. baby swimming at peckham pulse was good but think they need to be 16 weeks. Music for little people 2.30pm on a wednesday at goose green centre.. Agreed jump on one of the mum club threads and you will be able to tag along to meet some other mums x

  14. I am with the gardens and I cannot rate them highly enough.. As you probably have seen from my threads lately baby strawbs has been quite unwell and every time I have called they have fit him in that day for an appt (under 5 and they will).. good Luck! x
  15. If we were to lose the hospital, I assume the seldoc out of hours would also be relocated? I have unfortunately ended up there with my son a few times so Im hoping we wont lose that altogether!
  16. If it continues then I'd look at the allergy route as my son is dairy and soya allergic and was accidentally eating both and for the last 6 weeks was vomiting nightly, a week ago I stripped it all out and he hasn't been sick since x
  17. My son got it and I was told to take him to docs and get some cream and he could come back it had been applied for 24 hours.. In the mean time wipe / clean regularly with cooled boiled water and cotton wool. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after to minimise spreading..
  18. Moving to America
  19. Hi all Well I have a happy update to give, finally! In sheer desperation I pulled out every item of food that baby strawbs was consuming and went through it with a fine tooth comb and was shocked to find he had been ingesting some diary and soya we didnt know about such as we had just introduced some gravy when he has roast chicken but it has soya in it, we as a household use McCain oven chips but my partner had picked up some aunt bessies and low and behold they have milk in them!! His dietician had always told us to not bother switching him to dairy and soya free bread as it had trace elements in it but I promptly threw out everything in my house that might affect him in any way and switched to free from bread and have also restricted his wheat and gluten intake (not entirely on dietician's orders) and I can happily report we havent had an episode since!!! We are now on day 7 and he is eating like a champion and finally putting on some weight. His pecialist advised we should still do the camera test as whilst all of this was going on they ramped up his reflux meds to the absolutely maximum he can have so they want to 100% rule out the reflux causing this particular issue and wean him off the meds. Dietician advised he is clearly sensitive to even trace elements so we now have no flex in his diet at all i.e. no more normal bread. I am so relieved I could honestly almost cry writing this, I thought there was something seriously wrong with my baby boy and it is likely going to turn out to be an allergy. I will forever feel guilty that I let my gestapo grip loosen on checking his foods with a fine tooth comb but Im sure he will forgive me one day! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who responded on here and also to all the private messages.. x
  20. I am so glad I've read this thread, baby strawbs is almost 13m old and we have been out twice together.. We are the only one of our friends with a baby so whilst everyone is out getting smashed I'm happily at home on the sofa but my other half feels we should be going out more often.. I am involved lightly in a babysitting credit system and have a night owing to me, it's my 6 year wedding anniversary next month so ill probably use it then x
  21. I will be returning from Wales that day and Jaws will have had mini strawbs for a couple of days so not entirely sure I'll be able to get out but will see. x
  22. Katsu I think that's a brilliant idea!
  23. Selfishly Id like to see a ramp type thing on every street corner so I can easily cross a road with my pram (they are on most but not all). A hydrotherapy pool to take baby strawbs swimming in in the gym on CP road and a soft play, I currently use the peckham one which is good but you never know if you are going to get a park etc so can be a bit of a nightmare with a baby.. Id like my roads cleaned more regularly, I fail to know why but my driveway always seems to end up looking like a shit tip with rubbish, fried chicken boxes etc none of which is from us and our street is strewn with dog poo a lot of the time, I'd love for that to be cleaned up more regularly. Im very happy with playgrounds and parks in the area. There isnt a lot that my 1 year old can use in the playground besides the special swings but not much can be done in that respect.. Hope that helps..
  24. I dont have any advice as my child doesnt go there but unless you already have a place their waiting list is hideous! I was 5 months pregnant when I put my son in the list, he is now 13 months and we still didnt get a place there.
  25. I have your child's school jumper. I collected some washing from the laundromat on east dulwich road and it was in there. If I don't hear back from you to collect ill drop back to the laundromat on Saturday.
