  1. I am usually a huge fan but I dnt love it this year and if jaws didn't insist on watching it I'd not turn it on. If I had to choos it would be the homeless kid with the glasses..
  2. Mrs g I have experienced the same today actually.. Mini strawbs has had something or another since starting but always able to go to nursery until yesterday.. Doc at 6pm, seldoc dulwich hospital 11.15pm, kings midnight, today docs 11am and kings again by midday just getting home now.. Thankfully I emailed my boss last night who said either work from home or not worry obv if I was back up to the hospital.. It's very hard when they are ill and you are at work!! Hoping he will be ok by Monday or its another day ill need to take but thankfully touch wood I won't have to use my annual leave. We have a process at work where we can buy an extra 4 days leave and I am definitely going to do that for next year!! Hope you all recover soon X
  3. any time Ive used it its all been there.
  4. i CHANGED from DMC to the gardens as hated it so much there but I know you can call and request that the duty doctor calls you back and then will do so that afternoon in their allocated time slot. They can atleast tell you to come in and be squeezed in etc or give you some advice. Hope it helps!
  5. Vanessa - someone said to me today 'my god you must be exhausted being back at work' I literally almost spat my coffee out in laughter and proceeded to tell them it's the most rested I have felt or a year!!! Using my brain again is giving me a real thrill.. Having great (IMO) childcare has really helped as I know he is happy too.. I know right now it seems unimaginable to be happy back at work but I really hope (and I'm sure it will be the case) that you feel ok when you are back too x Silly woman - sounds very rough on you, thank goodness for silly girl and wine!
  6. Hi all Just to update you, 3rd day back and work and Im thoroughly enjoying myself.. I know its early days but Im really enjoying adult conversation, eating, drinking hot drinks and going to the loo at my leisure!! I hadnt realised how 'out of the loop' I had been feeling til I came back. Mini strawbs is happily at nursery 3 days a week and with my SIL two days a week.. We are still finding our feet re routine wise with getting us all up, dressed and out of the house and my journey home is mega stressful trying to get to the nursery by 6 (I fly in there at 5.55) but the nursery have been great and are now giving him dinner that I send in so literally all that needs to be done when we get home is bath and some cuddles watching in the night garden.. On the days my SIL has him he is fed and bathed by the time I get home.. All in all its been nowhere near as difficult as what I thought it was going to be and I am really enjoying it.. Hope that helps anyone who is feeling upset by going back, I spent three months on the verge of tears and now I know i neednt have.. xxx
  7. 100% yes after the same screening and interviewing process I would give anyone. One of the factors that helped me decide which nursery to send my son to was that they had a male key worker there.
  8. Vaporiser definitely but check the age requirement. I have two 1) a boots electric plug in vaporiser which I use when mini strawbs has a blocked nose and 2) the Vicks steam vaporiser for when he has the lot including a cough, it makes the room very warm though so dress baby appropriately.. Baby olbis oil on the sheets too for him (an hour before he goes to bed or it can be quite strong).. X
  9. I'm due to start on Thursday but am doing the nursery drop off this week (this is his 3rd week).. I just got back from Australia (family member passed away) so given I was away from mini strawbs for two weeks I'm finding the separation part easy as nothing is harder than two weeks without him but he sobbed when I dropped him off today and that was really hard to see.. I was told by my partner he didn't cry once whilst I was away when being dropped off so I'm a bit confused but as of Thursday I'm doing pick up not drop off so maybe he will go back to not crying (?!).. Hope it gets better for you x
  10. I can't stand DMc.. I moved to the gardens and think its great.. My OH is still at DMc and she is constantly irritated when dealing with them..
  11. I don't love it there either, if my mum friends decide to go there ill sometimes go along but otherwise I avoid the place..
  12. Thanks for posting.. I've pasted the recall link to my friends who use bumbos.. I've never used one as Toby refuses to sit still ever!! X
  13. Exactly the same thing happened to baby strawbs and we ended up gp first then at Seldoc out of hours to which they said it was a virus which I thought was absolute rubbish, it was quite clearly the jabs.. I was told give calpol and 45 mins later give ibuprofen (be aware this can make reflux worse so I only do this when absolutely necessary).. Keep him cool clothing wise but no cool cloths or baths.. Try to keep fluids up and call nhs direct however many times you need to, I found them really patient and helpful even if they just confirmed I was doing all the right things.. X
  14. I bloody love wagas! Ginger chicken udon noodle... Mmm yum!
  15. My son has a cows milk protein allergy and refkux and is on neocate. Very similar to the milk you have been prescribed. It is also disgusting and it took months for my son to get used to it. He has never had the rec amount so was out on neocate spoon by his dietician that is associated with his allergist. There is an aptimal brand as mentioned above but apparently (according to gp) 50% of children with a cows milk protein allergy still react to it. We tried soy formula and he is allergic to that too (apparently 40% of allergic kids will). Only other option is goats but not avail on prescription and was advised not to try as he reacts to dairy and soya. At 10 months he now only has two bottles a day and takes it fine. What are the other symptoms besides projectile vomiting? Is he screaming, have either runny or hard poo? Baby strawbs is on domperidone for his vomiting, meant to be 3 times a day but over the last two weeks he will no longer have any kind of soft food and I've noticed it has stopped so I've cut him down to once a day. He is also on omeprazole for his reflux which we are trying to cut down but that's not working.. I would ask to see an allergist but be aware they did scratch tests in my son that both came back negative for cows milk and soya so we tried to reintroduce and he reacted immediately so he was taken back off.. Happy to talk you through anything you need to know.. X

  17. Brother max not mac - sorry on iphone
  18. When mini strawbs was born we used the ready made as we were waiting for my milk to come in which took a while.. Once he went on to formula full time we used the big tin.. As he needed gaviscon in his feeds too we put powder and meds in. Bottle without water (about 8) so they were ready to go. We put two at a time in the fridge and reheated when needed. A friend showed me a great trick for making a bottle ready to go - for a 6oz bottle put 4oz of cooled boiled wter in and then top up with 2 oz of boiling hot water and it didn't require any cooling down.. Powder dispenser and a thermos were invaluable for when we were out and about (I use the brother mac slimline dispenser - you can get one from Jo Jo on the lane).. I did find using a tin vs pre made was cheaper.. I saw the 1 litre cartons only after we had starting using the tins.. Good luck!
  19. I like Toby, Hugo, Ethan, Ewan, harrison, jeremy and Riley.. I chose Toby (Tobias) for my son.. Good luck!
  20. I didn't have a c section and it still took 8 days for my milk to come through, it was v hard! A midwife that came to see me helped me with his latch and for love nor money we couldn't get him to latch without a nipple shield on (I used madela ones).. My biggest regret is that I didn't get a lactation consultant in to help me and I will defo do that for number 2.. Hopefully her milk will come in soon, x
  21. We seem to have finally turned a corner! He has managed a non watered down bottle, some fruit and toast this morning and it has stayed put! So relieved! Thanks for all of your support, it means a lot x
  22. I have one child at the moment and it still makes financial sense for me to return to work but if I'm lucky enough to have another that may be a different story. I am thinking I may retrain as a childminder to facilitate me being able to work from home at some point..
  23. I agree re second hand, got mine second hand on here for ?250 and it's been great!
  24. I like it as I can order a coffee, plonks baby strawbs in the play corner and sit on the floor with him drinking my coffee in peace!! He does unfortunately like to crawl around trying to eat anything on the floor so it never lasts long before I'm up and about! Haha.. Did the recent photo shoot there too and got two fab pics of baby strawbs for ?10!
  25. Thanks hon I'll look in to that tonight once he is asleep.. He loves Heinz baby juice so I'll see if it's compatible with mixing with something like that.. Thanks again.. X
