Shaunag - thank you so much, that is super helpful! Ive got your pm and Im going to have a google now.. I will definitely ask re the protein in the poo.. Just saw this in the ED issues section, sounds like a lovely idea but EXPENSIVE!! ?18 for kids and ?5 for each adult.. My one year old wouldnt be able to do any of the activities outside of pat the reindeer and get a pic, would have been better I thought to have a 0-2 price.. Or am I being a bit humbug about it all? SANTA IS COMMING TO DULWICH IN 2012 SANTA WILL ARRIVING AT THE LODGE IN DULWICH PARK on 1st DECEMBER TO 23rd DECEMBER 2012 WITH REAL REINDEERS AND ELVES I THINK TICKETS ARE IN ADVANCE ONLY www.santasgrottodulwich.com [email protected]

Same here specifically today.. -
Whilst on mat leave I had a cleaner just for 1.5 hours to come and focus on deep cleaning the kitchen and bathroom (two things I found I just coudlnt manage properly with a baby), on top of this she managed to hoover, empty all bins including the nappy bin, dust in the living room and I would strip my bed and she would replace the sheets. I thought she actually did quite a lot in 1.5 hours. Now I am back to work I have changed it to 3 hours once a month (for now as Jaws is unconvinced we need her more) so she will do 2 hours cleaning and 1 hour ironing. what I'd really like is for someone to do things like if the dishwasher is clean and full to unstack it and restack and put on (she currently just washes up anything Ive left out), if there is washing dried on radiators to take off and fold etc but I think I might be expecting too much as in that might be more of a housekeeper type role.. I'd be interested to see what others think? x

Anyone's baby had a 24 hr impedance probe study?
Strawbs replied to Belle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Belle - yep with Babu too but up until this point managed pretty well with medication so Ive only had to see him a couple of times.. They think his last serious illness a few weeks ago has for lack of the right words basically compromised how he is able to digest his food and caused slowed gastic emptying which is why he is refusing food from late afternoon onwards and purging every single thing in his body once we get to the night as he is full to the brim! My GP has faxed off a request to have him seen by the emergency team as he vomited all over her office last night and the gastro team called and said he needed the test asap so they are working on getting me an appt.. Could still take a couple of weeks though!!! Caroline -- A reflux meet would be bloody excellent as I can normally keep myself in check with these things but this is really stressing me out.. Im back at work full time now though so it would have to be on a weekend so not sure how that fits as I know time with the other half is precious at the weekends.. x -

Belle - I was wondering if you went and ahead and had this done? Mini Strawbs now has to have this done as his reflux is off the charts at the moment so Dr Babu's office called me yesterday and they think this is the best next step.. Just wondering how you and your little one got on? x -

thank you both.. Im glad it's not just me worrying over nothing.. Im going to pack an overnight bag, I will head to my doctor first as the gastro nurse said to see the doc and have him call whilst we are there and then I'll head up to kings and wait until the vommiting commences.. thanks so much xxx -
Slumber Bear - are they worth buying?
Strawbs replied to Sonners's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I had two from mothercare (both broke within 2 weeks), really didnt make any difference at all for my son but I know some people swear by them.. There are lots of white noise apps / cds you could always try first before forking out the cash. Good luck! -
Firstly sorry its so long but Im feeling a little desperate.. To set the scene - a few weeks ago baby strawbs was quite ill, initially we put it down to nursery bugs / settling in etc.. In the end he had a cold / chesty cough / temps of 40 / very sleepy to the point where he would just lie on the floor and even if he vomited just wouldnt move /sickess and a runny bum for almost two weeks (doesnt sound like much on paper but living it was quite something altogether different).. We were sent to A&E twice by our GP and after a multitude of tests including chest x-rays they concluded he had multiple viruses at the same time and there really wasnt much that could be done. SO off we went home and just continued to ride out the storm.. Over the past 7 days he has been left with a lingering cough (fine not worried about that) and a very strange vomiting ritual. He has no temperature, seems happy during the day, eats ok etc but get to the afternoon / evening and he refuses his dinner and then the vomiting begins and I mean projectile exorcist vomiting, two nights ago he did 12 vomits in 60 seconds and literally purged every morsel from his body and this is happening nightly, his whole body stiffens and his eyes are bugging out of his head and he obviously then becomes very distressed. Its not milk related as exactly the same thing happens even if we dont give him a bottle. We are changing him and bed sheets 2-3 times a night. Last night it was so thick i had to hold him upside down to allow the vomit to actually fall out of him as he seemed to be choking on it. His vomit is brown which my friend's sister who is a GP said this could indicate a tear in his stomach lining so some blood is making it brown. He is a reflux baby with dairy allergies so Ive dealt with copius amounts of vomit since birth.. I called yesterday in to his gastro specialist's office and they finally called me today and I spoke to his specialist's nurse who is trying to get his consultant to call me but suggested I may need to take him back to A&E. The nurse initially suggested it was a stomach bug but then agreed with me it probably wasnt as he is only vomiting after 5pm! He has lost over a kilo in weight (2.25lbs) and it is showing no signs of slowing down. I have an appt with my GP this afternoon so will see what they say. I am completely confused as to why the vomiting seems to be on a timer i.e. only after 5.. I dont think it is over feeding either as it happens mostly when he hasnt eaten since lunch as an indicator for me has been that he is refusing dinner. its not a refusal in going to bed thing as he is exhausted and cant wait to get in to bed most nights, plus two nights ago we didnt even make it to bed time before it started.. One minute Im holding him walking down the hallway and then next he is literally spraying me, the walls and floor with vomit.. I am just hoping someone can give me a bit of perspective on the above apart from my own as Im genuinely starting to worry now.. thanks! x

Hi Is ?80 for a particular length of hair? Mine is down to my bra strap.. Also does it take long at home? I have a 1 year old so not sure I could be in a chair for hours and it might be better to leave him at home and get it done in a salon.. thanks! sparkleheart Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I had mine done at home, Carly charges ?80. 2 > months on and still looks good. Strawbs replied to jennyh's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Mini strawbs justmdidnthis exact thing for near on two weeks as has a nasty nasty bug and the only thing I could get him to eat was Ella's kitchen pears, to put it in perspective he has refused to bed fed with a spoon for about three months now so I was more than a little surprised so I put it down to a sore throat.. After two long weeks and two trips to the a&e he is back on track and back to eating only with his hands.. Won't touch the pears now!! Little devil.. Hehe Hope you rise this bug out quickly.. X -
