  1. I had Toby on 3 lists so ?75 poorer, since found a nursery I could pay a month up front to scure a place so I did that..
  2. Last employer was a financial house and they were stat pay only, current employer (law firm) 6 weeks 90%, 12 weeks 50% then stat x
  3. Toby did that right in someone's open swimming bag hahahaha..
  4. Hi I'm off to Australia shortly with my son who after I got him a jumperoo absolutely refuses to be still hahaha.. Anyhow I've borrowed a door bouncer and was thinking of buying a travel play mat to take for when I'm in the shower etc. I can't rely on anyone being able to hold him as I'm going home due to a family illness and she will be too unwell to hold Toby for me. I'm taking a back pack instead of a suitcase as I'm going on my own so I'm after one that folds down in to a neat package but is also interactive enough to entertain him (he has a v short attention span!).. I've heard the Lamaze pyramid is good but it seems to fold down in to the shape of a house? Any views would be greatly appreciated xxx
  5. http://slowcookerrecipes.org.uk/mince-beef-napoli.htm
  6. Chicken thighs no skin, marinate in garlic, jerk chicken seasoning, thyme and worc sauce. Transfer to slow cooker along with an onion cut in half, lots of peppers, chicken stock, salt pepper, remainder of marinade, tomato pur?e and then cook on Hugh for 2-3 hours.. 10 mins before its ready squeeze in a little honey. I normally add cooked rice to it 30 mins before its ready but as you are going carb free you could easily do salad.. I also roast a whole chicken in the slow cooker. Get a 1.4kg Chook, I put butter under the skin of the breast, season and put something in to the cavity ie garlic or a clementine.. Put 4 balls of foil in the bottom of the slow cooker so the chicken isn't touching the bottom, put it on High for 1 hour then low for 8.. Literally falls off the bone and. O oil needed. Obv the butter is optional to make it even more low fat but I do it to make sure the breast part doesn't dry out.. X
  7. We absolutely should!! What a great idea.. Maybe we should invite all mums on the forum with reflux babies to meet up.. At least then i won't feel so hagged and covered in vomit!! Hahaha I still get puked on probably 20 times a day so nothing I wear is ever clean!
  8. I still hate how I look in my clothes so can't help there. In winter I did jeans and baggy jumpers but I always make sure I shower before my other half goes to work and at an absolute minimum a tinted moisturiser, makes me feel a bit sane.. More often than not I throw on some face powder and blush but rarely make it to the mascara stage and big sunnies help too!! Hope that helps..
  9. Thanks patt I'm going to post some and take some, I called Australian customs and they said it was fine because it was dairy free phew!! Does anyone know will they allow me to take Ella's kitchen through customs? Thanks!
  10. Well done on your side note post, I'd be tempted to report them to the mod anyway so the breast feeding bullying can stop! Toby isn't on the combo med just the omeprazole and we give it to him in tablet form so I can't help on the syrup. My gp is always telling me that crystals pharmacy in nunhead are really good ( they want me to change from the one I use). Did they talk about dairy free formula at all? X
  11. When you go ask about omeprazole - it takes 2 weeks to work but it's so worth it x
  12. Thanks everyone so much, thank goodness I got his passport last week, sorted his visa now just need to get hold of my dad and arrange flights etc..nikki thanks for the offer I may take you up on it. Defo won't be going prior to Friday so I'll let you know. Thanks again sorry for the short reply my head is a bit all over the place x
  13. Hi Looks like I need to fly home to oz (family situation) and I'll be doing it on my own (other half will need to come out for funeral so can't come twice) and I'll be taking my son who is a horrendous sleeper as it is. Any tips for how best to do this on my own? Is it worth breaking the trip up? He is on dairy free formula so I need to see if I can get it in oz (I've googled and it says it's $300 for 8 tins!!!) or maybe I will need to post it over - has anyone gone on holiday there who's child has been on neocate and been able to get it easily? Is it worth me not taking the pram (bugaboo chameleon so a big difficult pram to fold and pack away) and try to borrow one or am I better off having it for the waiting time at the airport? I have an ergo carrier but he doesn't sleep well in it.. Is there a different sling / carrier that I should get to help him with this? Sorry for all the questions, been up since 1 with phone calls to and from home so trying to get my head organised. Cheers x
  14. Same here!
  15. 23 weeks here so just shy of 6 months and not sleeping through! Anywhere from 2-7 wake ups a night! You are definitely not alone x
  16. We got an expensive one which he didn't like so went to tesco at Surrey quays and picked up a cheap one which loved and still uses. He spends a lot of time now in his jumperoo (he has a serious obsession with it! Haha) as he is standing the whole time, Isaac is a bit young for that yet but might be something to get later on. X
  17. A friend of mine saw a private midwife last week who said the guidelines (and that is all they are!!) are being changed to 17 weeks.. It's a really personal decision and i believe your instinct plays a big part. We weaned Toby early due to his reflux and my gp said so long as I did it slowly and focused on milk based foods ie rice, porridge, fruit and veg mixed with his milk then it would be fine. X
  18. The gaviscon can really help some babies! Two of my friends got t stoP at gaviscon and didn't need to Progress to meds so fingers crOssed!! Yay!! X
  19. I live on oakhurst and I think I heard someone trying to get in last night. Since having a baby I am an insanely light sleeper and something made me store but as I was falling back to sleep it sounded like someone was trying to jimmy a window or shake the front door so I shOt up and checked the baby's room and then turned all the lights on and checked the windows and everything seemed fine but the hairs on the back of my neck were up and my instinct told me it wasn't just in my head! We were burgled last August so the house is always securely locked! X
  20. Another reflux baby here. Cows milk protein allergy too. I had to stoP Breastfeeding and they tried him on SMA stay down then switched him to neocate (dairy free milk). He is on gaviscon with every feed, 2 tablets of omeprazol a day and is being weaned slowly and early. He had to sleep on us upright for 10 weeks, it was utterly exhausting so I completely understand. I have a couple of reflux wedges if you would like them, one fits a Moses basket (or the carrycot of a pram) and the other fits a crib. If you need any help or advice please just give me a shout. X
  21. There is also a south east lesbian mums group at the goose green centre, they meet once a month apparently, I'm yet to go to one but just in case that interests them x
  22. I had the same but not for five weeks, sorry I can't help as mine just went away on its own. HoPe you are ok x
  23. I'm in a same sex relationship and we did the nct class with becky at the old nuns head nd whilst we were the only ss couple in the group no one batted an eyelid and becky was fantastic when referring to partners rather than just solely using the term "father" of course it was used a lot as it would be naturally but not 100% of the time. Defo look her up and get them to go there. To be honest its so mainstream in London and ED it's really not an issue x
  24. Hilarious!!
  25. Ruth baldock you are a bloody champion! I tried it your way today and it was dead easy!! Thank you
