  1. Bloody hell!! That's ballsy.. I'd be freaked if tat was me, sorry it happened but glad the feckers didn't get anything!
  2. Without wanting to reopen th debate too much Just had a very odd call with the SMa helpline (formula).. I called because the stay down formula gets very clumpy and it says on tin it thickens in their tummy and not the bottle which obviously was wrong due o the clumps.. They said due to it being a medicinal powder it should be made up in cold water!!! She said I should boil the water, cool the bottle immediately in I've water, put bottle in fridge (do 4 at a time) then take out an hour before feed, put powder in, shake, and then leave to reach room temp naturally.. When I asked about the bacteria factor she said it was absolutely fine as it was a medicinal powder.. Does this not sound totally bonkers??? Should I believe them??? Xxx
  3. Mine has now escalated to sickness and diaharrea and swallowing razor blades.. Myself and the baby aren't moving from the sofa today..
  4. Is that true that it kills off the nutrients??? Where does it say that.. I thought it said use the water within 30 mins of boiling so depending on what my screaming baby is doing I either do it right away is water and powder or anywhere up to 10-15 after I boil kettle.. So does that mean that the feed I just made now and put in fridge for his 6am feed which I did immediately after the kettle boiled has no nutrients? Can you point me in the direction please of where it says this so I can do a bit of research? Thanks
  5. I've just started with those symptoms yesterday but no cramps just waves of nausea.. Worried my 8 week old will catch it from me..
  6. Thanks all.. I think I'll keep doing what I'm doing and make them up as I go up until the middle of the night wh I will keep one or two in the fridge and heat in the bottle warmer.. Thanks! Merry Xmas x
  7. My son is 8 weeks old and I do both.. Morning nap he generally puts himself to sleep (circa 8.10), at 11 I put him in the pram post his feed and head out to run my errands for a couple of hours and he sleeps the whole time.. I stop for lunch and he eats.. He then goes back to sleep in the pram but wakes up when I stop moving.. For the rest of the day sometimes he sleeps in basket other times he gets so fraught I allow him to sleep on me tO ensure he has at least napped so then he isn't grump all night.. Night time is a nightmare with him predominantly sleeping on us which isn't entirely his fault as had such awful reflux we have had to at night keep him upright so I think has become use to it.. In the new year we are going to try and be more strict at night but it is when his reflux is the worst and we are at our most tired so we will see.. I do worry now we are at 8 weeks that I am creating a huge problem for ourselves but with hia reflux it's hard.. Any tips would be really appreciated!!
  8. Monkey I would never reheat a used bottle! Only fresh out of the fridge..
  9. I reheat it in a bottle warmer surely that is ok ? I use it correctly.. He is in sma stay down for reflux and I can't fund them in ready made, I'll keep looking but for now I have to make bottles x
  10. This thread is bloody fantastic!! Thank you so much, I have belly laughed my whole way through!! X
  11. Thanks everyone, I feel reassured and not so alone!! If anyone ever fancies a coffee I'm happy to buy youone for all the help you give me on here x
  12. Hi all, me again.. I feel like I should be putting a pound in a jar for you all every time I ask a question. Haha Guidelines for making bottles says make, use and discard within two hours.. I do this where I can but not practical in the night with a screaming baby so before OH comes to bed (I sleep from 9-2 and that's her shift with the baby) she makes up the bottles for my next feed so it could be in the fridge for 3-4 hours, I then warm and serve,, I've heard people pre doing the water only for a days worth of bottles then adding powder and heating - sounds much easier but is it safe to do so? I assume as only water no bacteria can form but wanted to check before I started doing it this way.. If anyone ever fancies a coffee I'm happy to shout you one for all the help you guys give me.. Zx
  13. Thnks all! I'll definitely perist as day 3 And no screaming.. I'll try your suggestions today when I make up his bottles.. Really appreciate it As always X
  14. Hi I have recently changed to dr browns a couple of days ago and notice when I pur the formula and go to shake it leaks as if it's too hot.. Does that normally happen? Didn't happen with the avent.. Thanks
  15. Hi everyone.. Sorry for the late I struggle to get on here most days now. I went and got some colief and a dr brown bottle and amazingly he hasn't screamed since! I've now had two 5-8 times pass and not a peep.. He is sleeping better (albeit is asleep on me right now in the nursery as I rock on the rocking chair.. Thanks for all of your advice, I was getting beside myself especially as my other half isn't home til after 8 so was battling it alone.. I'm assuming as the drops and bottle have made such a difference it must have been colic? He is off to an injection tomorrow so I'm hoping to get a script for colief for him.. I was Breastfeeding up until a couple of weeks ago but have had to switch him to SMa stay down formula for his reflux.. I cried a lot but he is so much happier on the formula.. We are on our second lot of meds now, tablets so nightmare to administer and they said they would take up to two weeks to work and then we would have "a good two weeks before it then suddenly gets a lot worse" and I have to increase his dose.. Whilst obviously not cured I have seen an improvement.. Went and brought 8 dr brown bottles today which he likes.. Sorry I can't reference anyone as doing this one handed on my iPhone X
  16. Hi My 7 week old has started in the last couple of weeks to scream for 3 hours at 5pm daily.. I can set my clock by it!! There is no consoling him.. Singing, rocking, dark room, pushed in pram, even more food - he is normally so worked up he won't take it.. Any thoughts please? Ps he has very bad reflux, he is on medication etc..
  17. Well he screamed the house down!! Went crimson he was screaming so much and very grizzly all day but seems to be back to normal now thank goodness.. Think he is a little sensitive as went with a friend and her daughter slept through it!! X
  18. Thanks both!!
  19. My son is having this jab tomorrow.. Will he feel unwell / unsettled afterwards? Anything I can do to make it easier on him? Thanks!! X
  20. A pharmacy and a cashpoint that doesn't charge ?1.25
  21. Been to NYC a few times but never with a baby so can't help there (was prego last time I went).. One thing I found was that the taxi queue took an hour and to be honest once I'd paid the tip I regretted not pre booking a car to take us in to town.. I think it's about $30 extra and you can only have (I think) 3 suitcases but just something to consider after a long journey with children.. Xx
  22. Sorry didn't mean to give the imPression I would get no help whatsoever I just meant that jaws can't dO as much in the night as what is haPpening now..
  23. Hi Clare.. Where is 'shot by sheriff' please? Thanks!
  24. Thanks everyone.. Well things are still up and down a little.. Sorry for the delay bit things have been a little hectic.. In short my milk is finally in yay!! Midwife dropped in and we worked on technique and using a nipple guard as otherwise he wasn't latching on but now he definitely is.. I'm waking him to feed every 3 hours (if he has t already woken) and we are attempting after every feed to put him in his Moses basket.. Sometimes he lasts literally 3 mins, others 40 and tonight he shocked me with 2 hours but this feed I am back to being in the Lounge with him on my cheat and that is where he has decided he will stay.. I figure he is only 6 days old today and is doing very well, it's just managing the lack of sleep but Jaws has been fab and we are working as a team and taking shifts.. I am concerned about when jaws goes back to work and I can't really exPect any night time help but I'll panic in a couple of weeks when that time comes.. Went to a sleep seminar the other day (not all that helpful but we thought we would try it).. We purchased a miracl blanket which we are using, he doesn't seem to love it and also a White noise slumber bear so we are pulling out all the stops to make sure we give him every opportunity to get a good nights sleep.. Just wanted to say thanks so much for your responses Xx
  25. Hi just to update.. We had our baby at tommies this week and I honestly cannOt fault themm.. We were classed as high risk due to gestational diabetes plus exrcise induced anaphylaxis (still would have been high risk with just the GD) and the service and help we received was out of this world!! From "check in" to discharge we were so taken care of and the nightmare stories I'd heard about post natal wards in general dint ring true for me, nice people and pretty relaxed with mountains of midwives on standby to help out.. We were discharged on Thursday night circa 9pm and had a midwife at our door at 11 on Friday to check in on us.. X
