Bee - Toby has woken up with a cold today so if it's gone by Friday I can meet you on Friday for an hour (have lunch guests so can't stay longer sorry)...I'll message you.. Belle - fancy coming along? Toby is on neocate, it took him a couple of weeks to get used to it but now he drinks it like normal and a trick is to make it warmer than you normally would.. X

Bee - my son like belle's has reflux and has tried various medications and is now on dairy free food.. He was still putting on weir but it was hell and we had the choking also so much so he had to sleep upright on us for 10 weeks!!! If your gp is not taking you seriously try to see someone else or switch gps.. I'm at the gardens and they have been fantastic regarding his reflux.. It was trial and error with meds but we have. Racked it.. They said it will only get worse the bigger he gets until he can sit up unaided so my advice is to push to get it sorted.. If you fancy catching up let me know, belle and I have caught up for coffee and swapped war stories and am happy to do the same for you, sometimes it helps to not feel so alone xxx

I was able to register my son when I was pregnant, registered him 6 months ago so I'd call and check if you can as it could have. Hanged.. I know my little favourite nursery takes them from 4 months..

Hi bee.. My son has reflux and also a cows milk protein allergy.. He used to scream a lot so they said it was colic but once the gp switched him to dairy free milk and he came off the colief he stopped screaming.. He still obv has reflux which causes its own issues but I feel I have 1 less.. I tested the theory and for various reasons gave him normal formula for two days andbthenscreaming came back instantly.. Maybe chat to your doc ans get them to prescribe you some neocate to see how your little one goes on it? Can't hurt to try.. Not sure which surgery you are at but I'm at the gardens and have found them fantastic dealing with Toby's reflux.. Omeprazole tablets and dairy free milk have made a big difference after a couple of weeks.. Let me know if you want to meet up for a coffee to talk it over x

3 mth old waking every 45 mins at night...any ideas??
Strawbs replied to Belle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi HS just wakes up needing to be settled, still only needs to be fed every 3 hours.. I have tried to let him cry (admittedly for never more than a few mins) but he gets himself so crazy he starts vomiting everywhere (not sure if that is reflux related?).. I need tO crack it and lively as I've been in tired induced years a few times this week.. -

This is happening to me too, Toby is 11+3 and I feel like I'm living in a torture chamber!!! I read this thread and got some calgel an have used it liberally but it didn't work.. I've taken him off dairy free milk where I was lucky if he drank 20ml at a time thinking it was a hunger thing and he is now drinking 120-150ml but still doing it!! He sleeps soundly from 7.30-10.30pm (thank god !!) but from then on its 45mins on the dot through til morning.. The tiredness is killing me, I'm considering getting a doula in to show me what I'm doing wrong.. X -

Lost fairy in Peckham Rye Park!
Strawbs replied to The Nappy Lady's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I did see a fairy actually as I was pushing a pram and someone asked if it was ours.. Use the entrance with the big round flower thing in it and follow that path, follow that path straight, past the big first bit on your right, then past the path on your right to the road (if you lOok to your right you can see the school) then on the left you will see a bench and that is where it was on the floor and they offered it to me, I didn't see what they did with it but think they may have put it back on the floor near the bench.. If I go back over today (depends on baby) I'll take a lOok.. -

Fushia - she has her own free will as to whether to use the dummy or not and I'd be surprised if anyone would be offended to be given a dummy as part of a new mummy pack, surely they wouldn't get their knickers in a knot so easily and just throw it out or in the back of the cupboard?! One other thing I thought of was a swaddle - the miracle blanket was great for us - you can get them off amazon.. X

I've just started ww online.. Do you have an iPhone? If yes there is a free app and you can track your points in seconds and we could start a thread on here for support? I know a few people on the forum have just started.. My weigh in day is Monday.. First week last week lost 3lbs but reckon I will stay the same this week as I'm literally up for 20 out of 24 hours at the moment so bloody starving!!! I walk every day to get activity points but don't use them.. I know it's hard for you to get out but obv are welcome to walk with me... X

Tea tree oil as if she has stitches she can put a few drops in the bath which promotes healing..

Thermos cup with a lid is absolutely essential ! A ready made carton of formula (79p) and a dummy - both things we said we wouldn't use and did, a box of granola bars as she will be eating with one hand most of the time!! A bottle of antibacterial gel, a bottle of infacol, a bottle of gripe water, coffee, ear plugs fOr if her other half does a shift and she gets to sleep for 3 hours or else the instant you hear them you want to get uP to helP, vests for babies - you can literally not have enough of these.. X
-
Gripe water is a godsend.. There was a manufacturing problem with it I was told hence impossible to get hold of but saw it back on the shelves at lloyds yesterday.. I'd grab some while you can. When I give it to my son he starts farting up a storm almost immediately! X

Hi all Just to say I was the one that organised the meet at the actress and they were amazing!! In my exhausted state I didn't book but dropped in at 12 saying in 30 mins you will have 20 mums and prams arriving and they were gold!! Made space for us, as more prams arrived helped us jiggle them around to make space even dug my coat out from my pram for me that was a distance away and I was feedin my son.. We will definitely be going back.. I'm organising the next one at the plough as I hear it caters to mums and babies ie lots of space but we will defo go back to the actress.. I need to find a venue for a morning tea also and had hoped the electrical cafe would be it but might try bread o life instead.. Xx

I was up feeding my son when it happened and am on oakhurst, it was literally a non second but my sky tv hasn't worked properly since.. I seem to have lost sky plus..

I have the chameleon and it's fab! I go for daily walks for 2 hours and he is so snug in the carry cot.. I can steer with one hand so can drink and push at the same time.. I don't use public transport so the size thing isn't an issue for me and nor does it go in the car all that often (but when it does it does take up a lot of room), I think if I was on the bus and in and out of the car I'd go for the bee.. I initially wanted the bee but the carry cot sold me.. Make sure you look on the forum as there are some fab ones avail to buy generally for a third of the cost brand new.. Good luck!!

I was diagnosed with gd at 32 weeks. I was to.d I was going to have a massive baby and was induced at 38+3 as became insulin dependent, Toby came out at 7.13lbs so little!!! You should. E referred to the diabetes clinic and they will monitor you weekly and scan you a few times.. The care for the rest of your preg will depend on how your gd is managed ie diet , tablets ( the worst option!!!) or insulin.. At st thomas' insulin means induction automatically.. the high risk. Idwife team are brilliant who took care of me. I was quite ill with it but the minute he was born it was gone and he was perfectly fine. If you need to chat I'm quite happy to meet you for a coffee.. One other thing I seemed to be able to handle sweet things ok but not carbs so watch out for both.. X
-
Thanks for posting those details, I've emailed her!!

No problem, I welcome any help and advice! Toby seems so much less irritated now he is in neocate and slept for 4 hours today - first time ever!!! BUT he is vomiting ALOT! Took him out for a walk today and had to pick him up out of pram today due to it coming out so rapidly.. I'm very torn but we are going to persist with the neocate for at least this week and monitor him.. It seems we need to choose between him sleeping or being sick and at the moment sleep is winning! I'm not convinced he has an intolerance either as sometimes I think they do their best and grasp at straws.. I'm going to keep going and stick with the omeprazole that he is on fr his reflux but we have stopped the colief for now.. Are you coming to the actress on the 12th? If not fancy a coffee another day? X

Hi all My son has just been started on neocate formula as he was previously diagnosed with reflux and colic but the gp has said it could actually be a cows milk protein allergy.. He is now on the new formula and no longer on stay down so I've noticed a lot more vomiting but seems to be sleeping better.. He still is getting acid coming up so I've kept up his reflux meds but stopped the colief.. Just wondering if anyone has been jn a similar situation and can share their experience please? X
