  1. Can someone show me how to upload a letter to the forum? I have a letter from Harris that was originally posted by James Barber in the Family Room stating stating: ?For context, and as you know, the Department for Education has accepted our application to open a new school for Nunhead families? James, do you still contend that the application made to the Department for Education was not explicitly for Nunhead? Do you still contend that you don't understand why Harris called the school Harris Nunhead?
  2. Okay, I look forward to your response tomorrow or Thursday to the questions below James. 1. James do you deny that both you and Harris have stated that the Harris Nunhead was designed specifically to meet the projected shortfall in Nunhead? 2. James are you claiming that the DfE approved the application for a second primary serving East Dulwich rather than Nunhead? 3. Do you deny that current pupil forecasts from Southwark already show a surplus of primary school places based on the new openings in the Dulwich area?
  3. It wasn't a slur it was a question for transparency. I look forward to your concise and direct responses to the first 3 questions raised when you a physically capable of doing so.
  4. And the other 3 questions that came before that?
  5. James, if you answer the questions on the other thread, if a retraction is needed because I have misunderstood the suggstions you have made regarding historical positions both you and Harris have taken, then I will make the edit and apologise. Until you clarify what you meant by answering those 4 questions I can't but assume you are trying to convince posters of things that are simply not true by being misleading in your statements.
  6. James, please answer my questions previously posted and stop trying to deflect. I can very easily answer your questions with the official Southwark documents already posted on the Family Room forum but I can see you are trying to avoid answering my questions by changing the topic and so won't engage with any deflections until you honestly answer the 4 questions posted earlier. ETA questions below again: Please answer the following questions yes or no: 1. 4. Do you or your party receive financial contributions from Harris?
  7. Loz, in fact I know what the other local councillors feel as they have posted on this extensively via social media. It is split along party lines. In fact this matter was voted on at the most recent Southwark meeting so please don't accuse me of acting without knowing what's going on as most people on the forum know that is not the way I behave. James has told out and out lies today about what is going on and to suggest that he should be allowed to get away with stating things that are patently untrue because he is posting on the forum is ludicrous.
  8. James, please answer the questions posed on the other thread as your posts today are very misleading.
  9. James please answer my questions. There is no need for another primary school, certainly not one for Nunhead in East Dulwich. The questions above a very simple and your refusal to answer them is alarming.
  10. Loz and Townleygreen, I suggest you read the following thread to get the full picture: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1407450 James Barber very much needs to be held to account on the Dulwich Hospital site issue and I say this as somebody who in general is a supporter of Harris and James but not in this very specific situation.
  11. James, I have never said that the zoning issue may not in fact be real but that has nothing to do with if the site should be shared with a Harris Primary and is being used as a means of distraction by you to change the topic at hand. The petition is clearly for a secondary school on site so your suggestion that the petition risks the authorities ignoring the stated aim of the petition in favor of a primary school which the petition specifically asks not to be put on site is ludicrous and designed to scare and confuse your constituents. Please answer the following questions yes or no: 1. James do you deny that both you and Harris have stated that the Harris Nunhead was designed specifically to meet the projected shortfall in Nunhead? 2. James are you claiming that the DfE approved the application for a second primary serving East Dulwich rather than Nunhead? 3. Do you deny that current pupil forecasts from Soutwark already show a surplus of primary school places based on the new openings in the Dulwich area? 4. Do you or your party receive financial contributions from Harris
  12. James that most recent post is very dishonest. On other posts in the family room you clearly state that Harris were looking to open up a primary school in Nunhead and that there was need in Nunhead that justified this. Harris themselves sent a letter that was posted on the forum stating exactly that as well. As you very well know there is no need for another primary school in the Dulwich area and there was never a campaign for two ED primaries. You are really pushing the bounds of personal integrity and what you are saying can very easily be disproven so you should be very careful as lots of people have been following these developments for months.
  13. James, you have previously stated that the hospital land would not be allocated to any school ahead of the secondary school application being finished. This is a matter of record in your previous posting history. The application is therefore asking the DfE when the time comes and the secondary application has already been approved not to allocate any space to the primary school. Habs themselves have come out and said that sharing is not viable if full facilities are to be maintained. The is no rational argument for the Harris Nunhead to be located on that site and if you were being honest in your previous posts on the Family Room thread, there is absolutely no reason the petition as it currently reads should endanger the secondary school application. James, why are you determined to convince your consituents to accept a Harris Nunhead Primary on the Dulwich Hospital despite the impact it will have on the facilities available to the secondary school and the surplus of primary school places already available in Dulwich following the new openings and expansions? Can you disclose if Harris make any financial contributions to you or your party?
  14. The market appears to be slowing with many houses dropping asking prices and sitting on the market for weeks. This is happening all over London and prices achieved earlier this year may no longer be obtainable except for exceptional properties.
  15. I agree that ED does not have the footfall for a shop like Cath Kidstone. I disagree that the likes of Waitrose are not interested as we have had confirmation that they are. The size of the units is the main issue that a lot of chain retailers have with the area. Every unit large enough for a chain has been taken by a chain and every small unit that has been vacated has been leased very quickly but interesting indies.
  16. I second Ms Lotte and Samstopit. Suggesting that this petition be stopped is inappropriate. Nothing about the petition undermines the secondary school application and your suggestion that it does is totally unreasonable. The zoning issue may be relevant but it does not in anyway mitigate the need for this petition to proctect the site for the secondary school.
  17. Has the petition been sent to all 751 supporters of the school bid? Do you know if the Charter has emailed their mailing list as well? Thanks for all the hard work parents group!
  18. There is a Harris Primary opening at the old police station site. Based on the amount of signatures collected for that ED school, Harris appears to have convinced the DoE that there was demand from parents in Nunhead for another one there even though no campaign for a Nunhead primary was every conducted by Harris which is a pre-requisite. As there was a need for additional school places at the time in Nunhead, Harris applying to open a Nunhead primary was the only route they had to continue expanding in the area as you need parental support as well as a lack of places for your application to be successful. However, since their application to the DoE was successful, Harris have been unable to find a location in Nunhead and are now suggesting that a primary school meant to satisfy a shortage in Nunhead should be located in ED (which now actually has a slight surplus of places following to opening of the Harris ED on the police site, Judith Kerr, and the expansion of Bessemer etc). Worse yet, the need for a new Nunhead primary has been reduced significantly by the expansion of Ivydale. So now, Harris are pushing to open a school serving Nunhead (which doesn't really need it) in East Dulwich (which certainly doesn't need it) on the hospital site which cannot accommodate it without severely negatively impacting on the facilities needed for the proposed secondary school which is very much needed to deal with the pending shortage of secondary school places in the area. The entire thing is a travesty. By the way, the shortage numbers are not my opinion but rather are based on pupil planning analysis from Southwark. Labor Councillors are working to stop this but they need our support to place adequate pressure on the government.
  19. Are you sure about that drinking buddy or is that just speculation?
  20. Which unit Louisa-- the Irish Shop or Speedo Pizza? The new Italian place confirmed they were opening up on LL but I didn't bother to ask which unit they were taking so it could actually be either I suppose. I have a hard time believing Kat Kidstone is opening here. That doesn't seem to makes sense for a shop like that.
  21. Oh, I'd heard Tortilla was coming but didn't know what unit they were planning to lease.
  22. Agree. I think it's meant to be the new Shoreditch. I quite like it. It's got a fun young vibe but it doesn't feel like a full on scene yet. I'm far too old for most of that but my friends with teenagers in the area are always there.
  23. The architecture is genuinely unique whether you like it or not. Some of the interior finishing are not universally unique but they never said they were aiming for that. Some people just like what they like and shop accordingly No need to sneer at people who have tried to create something. It's not easy and I applaud their bravery.
