  1. Hi still problems with low to v.low water pressure from kitchen cold tap which affects washing machine as well. When I called Thames Water two weeks ago they said the local incidents were resolved and the problem is Southwark's responsibility to fix (don't hold your breath!. There was a joint inspection with Thames water and Southwark officer on 3rd Sept. I called for an update and they knew no more as to what is being done to repair the pumps which was reported the problem in our area. I have copied the last email I sent to Cllr Barber to see if he could find out more. But this problem has been going on for months and communication is poor to non existent from Thames Water and Southwark.
  2. Gosh sorry to hear this, concern also for other dogs, wildlife and humans including kids who could potentially be exposed to this. I would have thought any poison put down by park authorities targetting vermin would have been properly signposted or cordoned off.
  3. Looks amazing having checked online. Not sure I would queue for 3hrs though!
  4. Went past Copeland park where there's some industrial units queues growing going right round to Bournemouth Road in Peckhams with security at gates. Does anyone know what's on?
  5. We usually email the school and their response is we don't condone it but they've never fined us. With secondary it seems more strict. I don't think a couple of days here and there has a massive impact on a childs educational or psychological development. It's more that the schools attendance could result in a bad ofsted report which is what our school says. In Ireland attendance only becomes an issue if it falls below somthing like 85% which seems bit more reasonable.
  6. Gotthrough to Sky last night they're sending engineers out again due to external problems related to previous outage.
  7. Internet seems to have gone again Anyone else experiencing problems?
  8. Friern road also no internet and same problems with phone line. Did Sky estimate how long before its fixed? Great!Water problems now internet problems. What next?
  9. Yes here at Friern road affected too. Checked with Thames water online there appears to be related to 3 incidents on Upland road which are being repaired.
  10. We got glow sticks from one of the ?1 shops and ordered loads of fun kids tatoos from Amazon, really cheaply.
  11. Hi in Friern Rd london rd end, moved from talk talk who were dreadful. No problems with sky over last couple of years. Happy to stay were on basic broadband and phone deal.
  12. Potatoes cauliflower brocolli carrots root veg (only in season)aubergines carrots asparagus mushrooms corgettes leaks peppers cabbage tomatoes cucumbers esp miniatures, onions spring onions are easy but for quick add ons in cooking we use frozen mix veg, tinned sweetcorn, frozen beans peas and spinach are staples in our house.
  13. For other countries e.g meditarranean and far east we have used Wimdu, Airbnb and website now called HomeAway I think. But I have also did some research with Holiday Lettings and Tripadvisor where people may rate the villas they stayed in. For the last 3 trips to France we have used Eurocamps and Suncamps but then booked direct with the campsites which is cheaper especially Castel group which does discounts. IMO the kids love being in a camp with other kids and activities which is restful for the parents as well.
  14. I'd recommend the Chinese man in the Peckham rye lane arcade near Argos he's very good.
  15. Hi Police gave us a card with cad number and there was a victim support cared I think as well. But not sure as I came home later whether they referred us to local SNT. The card had interestingly a flow chart of what happens after crime is reported and what we expect from Police, also a rate our service link on it. I will check with them though to see if they can offer some further advice. I just wanted to find out what people have tried and tested. As we live in a block we are also at risk from people letting others in so I contacted my housing officer who will write to remind other residents to only allow their own visitors in not others.
  16. Hi thanks guys for your invaluable advice. Really helpful. Having had a look at the ring.com I did wonder if it worked on motion sensor only as well without ringing the doorbell so good to know it does Mands. Also the optex device seems like good deterent. Our door is thick multipoint locking which the police would even have trouble compromising without taking the whole frame off. It was just negligence not double locking it. I'm just glad my son was unharmed although a bit shaken at first he seems ok.
  17. We were brazenly burgled today between 3.15 and 3.30pm when out on school run can u believe it! My eldest came back from school and the perps came out said your mums home as they left. He was shaken but ok. Most items seem to be here but as they've rummage through our room not sure what's missing yet. Forensics seem to think we were watched and targeted for money or jewellery as other items were untouched. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a discreet security device like the spy hole thing. I think someone posted a few months ago being burgled and filming or photographing the perp. Advice and thoughts welcome. We live in a communal block of flats. Please be vigilant everyone make sure doors are double locked and windows closed which is easily missed especially with warmer weather.
  18. Hi would anyone know the local supermarket opening times, sainsburys website just says "may differ"?
  19. We used the lauderette on corner of Pellatt Road/Lordship Lane opposite the Lordship pub when our washing machine broke down. It costs about ?4.50-80 for a load and approx ?2 for drying, can also use the spinners to get more water out for 20p a time. Service wash would be ?10.
  20. Internet and phone line came back on after a few hours. No problems since touch wood!
  21. Our internet and phone line has suddenly stopped. Just wondering if anyone else is having same problems or knows if there's issues in local area? Trying to get through to Sky customer services at the moment...long wait. Jyst got through apparently massive outage in the southeast exchange affecting as far out as nine elms and vauxhall!
  22. Well we went today..totally locked up. Went to Dog Kennel Hill instead. Thanks.
  23. But either way availabity to book a standard appointment to see a GP means waiting a month. I can't really recall when it started getting so bad. I certainly can remember a time when you could get seen in a week and two was considered bad. Also they seem to only really want to keep discussions to one ailment any extra would mean a double appointment. Sometimes problems are linked so waiting for another appointment to see possibly a different GP makes it a bit inconsistent. I feel the management of the practice has got to improve i don't think the way its running at the moment is efficient at all.
  24. There is a link there of the nov meeting on the website albeit brief. Dr Masaba and pharmacist attended i think
